I think I have a cf

So we live in a cul de sac and facing the road is our driveway and side garden. Front door is on the other side. For a few weeks I’ve been noticing the same car driving up blocking the dropped kerb for our drive and a lady getting out and having a fag sitting on our garden wall.
That’s fine, I haven’t needed to go out when she’s been there. Her habit isn’t affecting me.
This week I was picking up the dogs mess and noticed that there’s tons of fag butts in my garden. She’s obviously just been slinging them over the fence.
Today I waited till she arrived and I went out to her to ask her to take her rubbish with her and not throw them in my garden. She told me to get fucked and she will do what she likes.
I didn’t really have any comeback for that so scuttled back inside.
Being both a coward and a nosy bitch I jotted down her car reg. Lo and behold the DVLA website says it’s not mot’d.
WIBU to tip off whoever enforces those things next time I spot her? She’s pretty regular time wise.

Did she come back ok?

weezypops · 14/01/2019 18:48

Also need to know if she returned!

MrsJDornan · 14/01/2019 18:50

Grin your MIL is amazing

Theoldwrinkley · 14/01/2019 18:53

Despite being born on a tobacco farm, my brother working for a company making cigarette making machinery and both me and ex sister-in-law working for a tobacco company, I am an ardent anti smoker. If you look at types of litter, fag packets and fag ends, the cellophane round packs etc....all in litter. Leads to the conclusion that most smokers are litter louts, and generally anti social. Hope you do report this tart and she gets her just desserts.

Ncobvs · 14/01/2019 18:55

Well done to your mil! I want to know if CF came back!?!

AlwaysInMotion · 14/01/2019 18:55

Did she return today OP?

thatmakesmehappy · 14/01/2019 19:01

Let her do it one more time, and video it happening. That way you have proof of her littering, you can catch her number plate in the video and a clear shot of her face. Video evidence might help her get a fine at least!

readyornot22 · 14/01/2019 19:03

Oh my goodness! I’d be really careful about messing with someone like that who knows where you live 😳 The MOT thing is good though..

Thewarrenerswife · 14/01/2019 19:03

Report and store your dog turds on your wall for a week or so...

Tinkobell · 14/01/2019 19:04

I would just move the dog poop to the other side of the wall as a temporary deterent ....very hard to chill with a fag when your dodging dog sheeet!

macaroniandpizza · 14/01/2019 19:04

Get thee onto the dvla to be nice of course to remind your cf they have no mot... Grin

kaitlinktm · 14/01/2019 19:09

Several people have had on the spot fines of £75 in my area for just dropping one fag end.

MsLexic · 14/01/2019 19:16

I am in favour of a nice greasy wall . I would also go and shout 'motherfucking MOT fag bitch!' but hey, don't do it. Everyone knows I am like that.

MsLexic · 14/01/2019 19:17

PS the DVLA don't care muchly about shit , I have tried in the past. The Police will, because she is driving an uninsured car.

Mamabear12 · 14/01/2019 19:17

Put itching powder so her but becomes extremely itchy after sitting on your wall lol. And if that doesn’t deter her, dog poop so she in it 😀

londonrach · 14/01/2019 19:18

Report and paint your wall with some sticky stuff not seen till you sit down

DadDadDad · 14/01/2019 19:31

Why do people keep saying that if she hasn't got a valid MOT then she can't have insurance? I can't remember my insurer over many years asking to check MOT status. In any case, I could have an MOT, later buy insurance, then the MOT could lapse - I'd still have insurance!

ButtonMoonLoon · 14/01/2019 19:34

Your insurance isn’t valid without a current MOT, so you may well have a policy but it would be invalidated if your MOT isn’t up to date....

WinkysTeatowel · 14/01/2019 19:35

Insurance does not require a valid MOT but it does require the vehicle to be road worthy, a good way to show the vehicle is road worthy is to have a valid MOT.

So, no MOT does not necessarily mean no Insurance but it is still illegal.

ChrisjenAvasarala · 14/01/2019 19:36

Button, insurance is still valid.

You realise that you can legally drive a car without an MOT if you are driving it to a pre-booked MOT appointment. Know what would happen if insurance wasn't valid? That would no longer be legal.

How many time do people need to say that insurance is still valid (unless you're with a really crap, cheap insurance company).

PoutySprout · 14/01/2019 19:38

a good way to show the vehicle is road worthy is to have a valid MOT.

Nope. It only proves it was road worthy whilst the car was being tested. A bulb could blow as you drove away and your car wouldn’t be road worthy.

rededucator · 14/01/2019 19:45

A simple google search shows that the only time insurance is valid without a MOT is when driving to a prebooked MOT appointment. I challenge any PP who say otherwise to direct us to evidence.

toffeeghirlinatwirl · 14/01/2019 19:45

I’m a Scouse MIL and I’m a timid, anxious wimp. Feel like I’m letting the side down now.... Blush

rededucator · 14/01/2019 19:47

And those saying they can't remember insurer asking for proof of MOT, the insurance company have access to the MOT database via your reg number

CatnissEverdene · 14/01/2019 19:57

You need an air horn to sneak up on her with.

I cannot abide people who litter. Who the fuck do they think they are?!
