What is the one thing you can eat on it's very own, although some people find it repulsive?

For me it's cheese! Any kind of cheese!!!! I am in LOVE with CHEESE!!! Cream cheese, cheddar cheese, brie, mozzarella, provolone, you get the idea! Grin

However, I have a friend tell me that she thought it was disgusting! Shock even though she relished ketchup sandwiches! Blergh!

I knew another guy who could simply eat a raw onion like an apple, no problem! My autist mind thought, "I wonder if he will be a serial killer one day?" I know, I'm weird! HA!

What one food do you enjoy tremendously on it's own, but according to some people, it makes them want to gag?

Delboy. Not to put you off your jam but a lot of seeds in jam are in fact tiny wood chips

Maryjoyce · 10/01/2019 00:14

And a lot of jam is made from suede

Maryjoyce · 10/01/2019 00:14

Swede lol

BramRang · 10/01/2019 00:14

As I scrolled Mumsnet, I literally just ate half a ball of mozzarella straight from the fridge (I've had a bottle of wine by myself tonight - not something I do often so I'm a bit off judgment but it was LUSH).

I'm also a fan of cold leftovers, right from the fridge! Mmmm (practically anything; curry, pizza, pastas, roast potatoes, stuffing, risotto, ANYTHING as long as it's fridge cold - DP warms up all leftovers a waste).

Franheaton · 10/01/2019 00:16

Another cup a soup eater here. Even when I do make it I make sure that I leave a sludge at the bottom.

Cold leftover roasties dipped in cold leftover gravy. Both must be homemade though.

Maryjoyce · 10/01/2019 00:17

Fran. Yes the sludge in the bottom is great if you do put in the water lol

Yep! I go with this too, plus cold roasted parsnips. It makes washing up after a Sunday roast more palatable 🤗

Bee1992 · 10/01/2019 00:19

mayonnaise

CranjisMcBasketball · 10/01/2019 00:23

Don't know if this counts but cream crackers spread with tomato puree and sprinkled with parmesan, salt and black pepper. It absolutely delicious but dh calls it povvy pizza.

Ahostofgoldendaffodils · 10/01/2019 00:26

Cracker bread slathered with cold butter. Kind of defeats eating cracker bread for its low cal properties though 😄

burblish · 10/01/2019 00:28

Another one here for gherkins and raw cauliflower.

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 10/01/2019 00:30

Cranjis you are a genius. That sounds like something I'd enjoy. It will forever more be povvy pizza too. Grin

Curious2468 · 10/01/2019 00:35

Raw cabbage
Raw mushrooms
Pickles

OnlyLittleMissOrganised · 10/01/2019 00:36

Frosties on toast! Or Ice cream and crisps!

Mmmm!

waywardfruit · 10/01/2019 00:37

In my case - olives. DH absolutely loathes them with a passion.

VetOnCall · 10/01/2019 00:49

Pâté here too; especially either duck or venison.
Dairylea cheese slices, I could demolish a whole pack of them easily. Can't get them here in Canada though and I can't find an acceptable substitute, sad times 😭

KatesMott · 10/01/2019 00:56

Lemons
Vinegar (been known to swig from the bottle)
Ice cubes

oiiiiiii · 10/01/2019 00:58

Loads of things

Mayo
Lemon curd
Cheese, especially really strong blue / hard cheddar type stuff
Bread, just like that. Bread and butter even moreso
Pâté
Any cured meats especially venison, thin sliced.
Pickled eggs
Olives
Mushrooms
Grilled onions

I'm unfussy. It's wonderful to just enjoy things.

oiiiiiii · 10/01/2019 00:59

And marzipan! How could I forget.

flissfloss65 · 10/01/2019 01:03

Tuna straight from the tin
Tapioca
Pickled onions
Cold brussel sprouts

spoon19996 · 10/01/2019 01:16

Tuna

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 10/01/2019 01:18

Anchovies.

BovrilOverkillOhMyInsides · 10/01/2019 01:22

Pitta bread
Thins
Peas (cooked)

Franheaton · 10/01/2019 01:32

Thegardenfairy yes I like parsnips if eaten that night. Potatoes dipped in gravy I can happily have the next day for breakfast.

Maryjoyce the sludge is the best bit!

ThunderInMyHeart · 10/01/2019 01:42

Lemon juice from the bottle
