What is the one thing you can eat on it's very own, although some people find it repulsive?

For me it's cheese! Any kind of cheese!!!! I am in LOVE with CHEESE!!! Cream cheese, cheddar cheese, brie, mozzarella, provolone, you get the idea! Grin

However, I have a friend tell me that she thought it was disgusting! Shock even though she relished ketchup sandwiches! Blergh!

I knew another guy who could simply eat a raw onion like an apple, no problem! My autist mind thought, "I wonder if he will be a serial killer one day?" I know, I'm weird! HA!

What one food do you enjoy tremendously on it's own, but according to some people, it makes them want to gag?

Anchovies out of the jar.
Tiny gherkins.
Lumps of cheese (mature cheddar or any strong blue cheese).
Dry bread, as long as it's fresh that day.
Chocolate spread out of the jar with a spoon.
Chickpeas or any beans/pulses out of the tin. Sometimes hardly any of them make it into whatever I'm meant to be cooking with them.

Horlicks straight out of the jar. It's like eating malteser centres. Just don't inhale when the spoon comes near your mouth Grin

Oh brilliant, I've found my people! I'm really grim Grin. Love tuna sandwich paste on its own from the jar with a spoon, chickpeas straight from the tin, smoked salmon just by itself, and a block of marzipan. The odd bit of Spread/butter by itself on a spoon, also great Blush. So wrong but so right Grin
Obviously I do eat actual meals most of the time...

Radish; I often polish off a packet in front of a film . Ditto raw cauliflower & broccoli

DH likes mint chocolate, which makes me heave

I also like sliced cheese with a squirt of ketchup then rolled into a 'sausage' crammed straight in whole

kateandme Yes! You can never go go wrong with dark poultry meat! And the crisper skin the better! We had two Thanksgivings last year with friends (we took turns cooking and coming over to each others homes) and the turkey dinner that we had with friends was amazing! You'll never guess! It was deep fried turkey! I thought I was going to hate it, but it was easily the best turkey skin I have ever had in my life and the meat was so juicy and moist, even the white meat which tends to be a little dry if you're not careful

It's actually quite a dangerous process and had to be cooked outside. It was this huge crock pot contraption thing that was hooked up to a propane take. It sounds crazy, but that was one fine turkey!!!!! Grin

An acacado. I cut it in half and eat it with a spoon. Didn’t know it was weird until I was quite old-

That's not weird. It's what I do unless I am adding it to something.

I can eat raw potatoes on their own and plain pasta and rice. Also love green beans on their own too.

My DP thinks I'm revolting and weird.

Any roasted veg. I ate a bag of roasted Brussels sprouts yesterday.

Peanut butter. Straight from the jar.
Nutella. Likewise.
Jam. Also.

Plain pasta. Plain boiled potatoes. A plain baked potato. Plain crackers. Plain toast. But I can't eat plain rice.

As a kid I used to eat the raw potatoes chopped up into chips before they were fried.

Another for oxo cubes but I like them turned into a broth with hot water.

Soft cheese/philly on its own.

Definitely eat peanut butter/nutella on its own from a spoon.

Clotted cream. I didn't used to like scones so when my parents had a cream tea they'd serve me up just strawberries with a massive dollop of clotted cream. But I can gladly eat the stuff on its own when the strawberries are all gone.

I will be trying the stalks of broccoli on their own. We love broccoli but had always assumed the stalks are less tasty? I used to eat the stems of daisies so broccoli stems might be quality satisfying..

Water chestnuts from the tin.

As a kid I ate raw sausage meat.

Ahh - everyone eats things like cheese, or olives by themselves! And I know many people who eat nutella/peanut butter straight out the jar - this is totally normal!

Those people who 'say' they don't, they are; liars, or they're kidding themselves, or they're snobs, or they have ocd.

When topping a pizza, I need to be supervised, or whole tins of anchovies can disappear.

When little, my DM would trim the fat off bacon, and I'd snaffle it raw ...

I just ate half a jar of these in one go. DD(17) watched me like I was a circus act.

My colleague ate a century egg and it made somebody watching him throw up.

Also, fresh durian. That's a bit much for most people to be near.

Crumbled oxo cubes (has to be beef or veg though).
Marmite straight off the spoon.
I could easily sit and eat jars and jars of pickled beetroot.
Double cream in a bowl, and can only be eaten with a teaspoon.
