Death Penalty for Bellfield

Charlotte48 · 09/01/2019 19:42

Having watched Manhunt about the investigation into the evil paedophile; child killer; woman killer; woman abuser and beater, Levi Bellfield, I was just wondering if, after Brexit, we should restore the death penalty. Surely Bellfield should be executed.

Greens.....You're looking like a big pile of shit...shhh

Imissgmichael · 09/01/2019 22:40

Tell me Greensleeves, what’s your definition of thick as mince?

bellabasset · 09/01/2019 22:40

Jimmyhill needs to look up Sally Clark who was the victim of injustice and was released. This was a most upsetting case, I remember the appeal against the doctor's evidence. Shame on you Jimmy.

As a child we were protected from news re crimes like hanging but I remember how upset my father was about Derek Bentley and Ruth Ellis. Then there was Timothy Evans.

I noted that on the othet programme re serial killers the solicitor acting for Michael Stone is trying to find a case for Bellfield to be charged with the Russell murders.

MumUnderTheMoon · 09/01/2019 22:41

If killing people is wrong then it's wrong end of.

Schmoobarb · 09/01/2019 22:41

Brexit? WTAF?

YABVVVVVVVU and completely thick.

MyBreadIsEggy · 09/01/2019 22:42

Death penalty? Fuck no.

To put it simply: people like Belfield are fucking animals.
I’m better than that.
To stoop down to his level and kill him would put me on a level playing field. And I’ll be damned if I let that happen.
The death penalty is not a punishment. It’s an easy way out of a life sentence. Quick injection, he takes a nice nap and the rest happens while he’s happily off in the land of nod. Why should he be allowed that dignity when poor Millie and all the others died in agony?

Greensleeves · 09/01/2019 22:46

It means "of low intelligence". It's usually a pretty global deficit, featuring (but not limited to) a lack of ability to understand complex concepts, poor critical thinking skills and a tendency to be gullible and vulnerable to propaganda and peer pressure.

People with higher order thinking skills rarely support capital punishment, in my experience.

FedUpMum40 · 09/01/2019 22:46

I think we all know the death penalty will never be brought back in England

Imissgmichael · 09/01/2019 22:50

Mybread please don’t insult animals. He’s an very evil man and unfortunately there’s many like him and prison life isn’t as hard as it should be for them. Far to many of them don’t get whole of life sentences either. Life is cheap, but only for victims.

BlancheM · 09/01/2019 22:51

Miss I didn't say I've spoken to all leave voters. Never mind, maybe next time you'll read my post properly.

MyBreadIsEggy · 09/01/2019 22:55

Imissgmichael you’ve got a point there...a fucking amoeba is more worthy of my respect than Belfield.

Imissgmichael · 09/01/2019 23:04

But BlancheM you’ve obviously think you know what a sheer number think.

I know mybread, it’s difficult to classify someone like Belfield.

Imissgmichael · 09/01/2019 23:08

Gleensleeves you really have a high opinion of yourself don’t you. Quite pathetic really. Silly, silly person and I say that as someone who doesn’t support capital punishment.

Anniegetyourgun · 09/01/2019 23:09

An awful lot of posters seem to have malfunctioning irony detectors. Every one of the cases Jimmyhill was referring to was a miscarriage of justice; most if not all of those "murderers" would have been executed if it were still legal to do so. That was his/her whole point.

ElizaBenson · 09/01/2019 23:09

The death sentence is just about being the bigger bully, I say you cant kill someone so if you do I will kill you. Its never right or appropriate.

As for people saying prisoners should sit in cells with no education etc, the sentence is being imprisoned away from society. Education helps rehabilitation which helps stop re offenders. Yes there are some truly sick people out there who wont benefit from rehabilitation but I would prefer that prisons try to rehabilitate and educate as many as possible even if there are a few people it doesnt help.

The punishment is being locked away, having choices taken away even basic ones like what to eat and wear, not being able to see family and friends when you want and do what you want. I think some people on this thread understimate the impact of that.

Janus · 09/01/2019 23:14

Bella, all 3 she mentioned were later found to Be miscarriages of justice, I think she was being ironic. It does show that we get things wrong and that is reason enough to never bring back the death penalty. Let alone that it just makes you no better than that person.

gt84 · 09/01/2019 23:16

Hell no.
I knew one of his victims and even I don’t wish him to be killed.
Plus I don’t believe that Marsha, Amelie and Milly were his only killings and perhaps in the future he might be able to bring closure for other families. He wouldn’t be able to if he was dead. Also, he wouldn’t have been convicted of Milly’s murder if he’d been given the death penalty after being found guilty of killing Marsha and Amelie

FedUpMum40 · 09/01/2019 23:20

Eliza I don't think it's got to do with being a bully!! It's not petty theft or minor driving or drug offenses this thread was about, yes I believe the criminals named above in the thread should be put into a room with nothing to look forward to, no rehibitation, no second chance, although the death penalty will never be brought back, this would be the next best thing, lets save the rehibitation for crimes that didn't involve tortoure, the most brutal acts some involving children, ATM my son has a weed problem, if he was to get into trouble and ended up in prison for a minor drug offence I was ask for help for him, while in prison, I wouldn't if he was another Ian brady

FedUpMum40 · 09/01/2019 23:24

And let's not forget Jon Venables he has had all the chances in the world, it's back to front he killed and tortured first, then turned to child porn after all them years of rehibitation

Imissgmichael · 09/01/2019 23:31

Eliza it should be about keeping them away from the general public until the day they die. No ifs no buts. I do hope Belfield is never release but what about types like Huntley ( no whole of life sentence). I do think if the general public thought murderers and prolific rapists and paedophiles didn’t see the light of day they wouldn’t be so keen on the death sentence.

Like iv said more than once I don’t like the idea of the death sentence, but I’m conflicted because so many monsters are set free. Doesn’t stop people going on about being as thick as mince though does it. They seem to think more about these monsters and their social conscience then victims. They remind me of a friend who worked with ex cons and thought people were awful for not giving them a chance until my DD told her that her friend had just left prison, “oh no keep away from him”. Talk about hypocritical.

FedUpMum40 · 09/01/2019 23:35

Yes, I was very much looking forward to Jon worboys being put in my street when the profile board were going to release him! After all he was going to live on someone's street! Thank god for his poor victims, strong, brave people

Greensleeves · 09/01/2019 23:38

You see, your assumption that the those who oppose capital punishment do so because they care about the "monsters" is a prime example of the lack of thinking skills I mentioned. Posters have explained, patiently, over and over again the many and complex reasons why the death penalty is a disaster for society and for individuals. Can you not read? Or do you just not understand?

Mince.

Imissgmichael · 09/01/2019 23:39

You won’t get much sympathy on here Fedup. It’s all about the poor criminal and fuck the victims and potential victims. We’re all thick don’t ya know and as thick as mince.

jimmyhill · 09/01/2019 23:45

Indeed. Seems the names of the wrongly convicted fade from memory rather fast.

It's not really so long really since certain folk on this thread would have been baying for Sally Clark's blood.

A grieving mother who lost two baby DS's to SIDS was imprisoned for murder. Some of you would have been happy to see her hanged.

birdiewoof · 09/01/2019 23:48

I am totally against the death penalty, but those of you saying he’s paying for what he did by having to live with it, I don’t agree, I don’t think people like him have a conscience.
