I have no idea what else it could be, but it just doesn't feel right?
I'm in agony with lower back pain, blood gushing, clots and have just vomited for about 5 minutes. Horrendous headache and slept for 3 hours today despite a relatively good nights sleep. I have never had a period like this, but it seems to be the only possible explanation. Can a period be this bad?

Eh up madam, what's going on with you now? I'm hoping you've had some sort of medical.assessment at the very least.
You do seem to be having a crappy time of it and I am now slightly concerned that you may be unconscious and haemorrhaging on the kitchen floor not that I'm catastrophising much.
Woman up and tell someone how unusual this is for you and how unwell you feel.
Keep us posted if you can.

Ps. I know Pps are well meaning but if someone is feeling poorly and anxious then reading stories about people's aunties or whatever with horrendous cases of cancer will not be helpful. There are ways to impress upon someone the severity of a situation without scaring them half to death. Conversely, I know the Op wants to hear that she is having a period like other MNers but that's the last thing she needs. This isn't normal for her therefore help should be sought, pronto. Not after a snooze and a cheese sandwich but now.

Lecture over for now

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 09/01/2019 01:57

And you didn't come across as rude to me either, just anxious and a bit stiff upper lip.

notsodimwit · 09/01/2019 02:10

Hope you are ok op Flowers

Shadow1234 · 09/01/2019 02:26

Glad you made that call op. I suffered terrible with my periods all my life, but i will never forget one night when i stood up to get a drink, and suddenly lost a lot of blood. My clothes and the carpet were claret (sorry tmi), i felt dizzy/ light headed, then passed out. My husband called an ambulance and I was rushed to hospital. The outcome was, that I had a severe heammorage (spell check) and was kept in hospital. I was eventually recommended to have an operation as the blood loss was so sudden and unpredictable. I dont wish to scare you, but please do not underplay this. Best to get this checked out now rather than leave it. Good luck

@GobblersKnob the lady you're thinking of ended up with sepsis

GobblersKnob · 09/01/2019 07:23

Queenofthestress, was it? Not the poster from a year ago or so. I was thinking of someone eight or nine years ago and similar not in the same illness, but they posted that there were very poorly then just disappeared. But that could well have been sepsis too, it was a long time ago.

Wotev I hope you are okay this morning.

KitKat1985 · 09/01/2019 07:54

Hi Wotev. Let us know how you are when you get a chance. x

Flannelled · 09/01/2019 07:57

BifsWif · 09/01/2019 08:48

How are you doing OP? X

Namechange8471 · 09/01/2019 08:59

It's not a normal period.

Grow up and ring 111 before you end up seriously ill.

Namechange8471 · 09/01/2019 09:00

Argh just read the full thread!

BifsWif · 09/01/2019 09:00

BifsWif · 09/01/2019 09:00

babysharkah · 09/01/2019 09:03

Did they call you back op, did you speak to them?

Cocobana · 09/01/2019 09:03

@Wotev I would call your GP surgery and ask for a telephone appointment with a doctor. Would you be comfortable doing that? Best to be safe than sorry. I hope you’re okay Flowers x

Cocobana · 09/01/2019 09:04

Sorry just read you called 111, that’s good.

KatnissMellark · 09/01/2019 09:12

legolimb · 09/01/2019 09:57

How are things today OP?

Hopefully all is well.

Wotev · 09/01/2019 14:39

Just to update. 111 called back last night when I was in bed. Basically said if symptoms got worse, to call them back.
Woke up this morning with no pain and just a normal period.
Odd, just a particularly heavy period I guess!

VforVienetta · 09/01/2019 14:42

Well, phew! Glad you're ok OP.

GobblersKnob · 09/01/2019 14:45

So glad to hear you are okay! Hopefully your next period will be am improvement on this one.

carrotflinger · 09/01/2019 15:10

Glad you are ok.
111 was set up exactly for cases like these - to take pressure of A&E caused by people going for very minor ailments but also to advise people who may be reluctant to go to A&E but really need to be there.
No one should be worried about wasting people's time by phoning 111.

legolimb · 09/01/2019 15:52

good news OP.

Glad you are okay.
