To be unhappy to see dogs in the garden

I walk along a local sustrans route, there is a newbuild estate, lovey houses built on the site of an old farm, and a couple lovely springers.
I dont like seeing them loose in their garden:
they look like they want to go for a lovely walk,
they might be stolen
they look abandoned
They might take off of their own accord.

My utility door is left open all day, our dogs spend the majority of the time outside in the garden. They go for two long walks a day. How do you know they aren't being walked etc?
My dogs love being in the garden playing! If I shut the utility door and kept them in, they would go stir crazy!!

GalacticChickenShit · 08/01/2019 09:19

I am not sure if it is fully enclosed, I did say, to me it looks quite open

No, you didn't. You said you didn't know if it was enclosed.

You also said "they look like they want to go for a lovely walk", which suggests you think they aren't getting 'lovely walks'.

Onlyjoinedforthisthread · 08/01/2019 09:19

I've read what you wrote, I reread it and reread it again because I thought I must have missed something because there is absolutely nothing in your post that is of the slightest concern.

For clarity you Are Being Very Unreasonable and seem to be a nosey busy body.

kaytee87 · 08/01/2019 09:20

And you never let your dog out to sniff around a safe garden? That to me is weird.

HoraceCope · 08/01/2019 09:20

Thank you Yep,
you seem to be the only one who read my post.

It doesnt say they arent getting walks, it might suggest that to you but you are determined that I am wrong galactic

Does your dog ever spend time in your garden op?

YABU... and prickly... and quite weird.

ILoveChristmasLights · 08/01/2019 09:24

did no one actually read what i wrote?

Yes, I did, but it’s a load of badly written half statements. If you actually want to discuss something I suggest you actually write something with some actual content.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 08/01/2019 09:26

Weird

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 08/01/2019 09:28

IF the garden wasn't enclosed the dogs would more than likely escape. You don't know that they aren't walked - so the comment about looking like they want to go for a walk is just daft. Like this thread.

My dog has a spreadsheet where he scores his daily walks from 'lovely' to 'utterly rubbish'.
He is always rather cross with a half an hour evening walk around the block and has RSPCA on speed dial if his walks are less than lovely.

StreetwiseHercules · 08/01/2019 09:30

WTAF? You are disconcerted by the notion of someone’s dogs sometimes being in their own garden?

HulksPurplePanties · 08/01/2019 09:31

How in the world can you not tell if the garden is enclosed or not? Either they are behind a fence or they aren't? Confused

PumpkinKitty82 · 08/01/2019 09:32

@YepImafraidIchangeditagain
Laughed out loud at that one !

CatnissEverdene · 08/01/2019 09:33

If they're springers and wanted to go for a walk, they'd soon take themselves out of an insecure garden, trust me.

I have a nightmare getting mine in out of the garden, they pretend to be deaf.

Drogosnextwife · 08/01/2019 09:33

If it was open they would have run away.

LadAlive · 08/01/2019 09:38

Are you thinking of stealing rescuing these dogs OP?

HoraceCope · 08/01/2019 09:38

so you reckon they would not take off?
ok, but they might be stolen, but apparently I am nosey for considering this.
well well

arent we a lot of judge rinders on here today!

hahahaha, I just snorted coke outta my nose at that one from laughing (the fizzy drink - not the Class A variety).

Lovemusic33 · 08/01/2019 09:39

Shock dogs in a garden? What ever next? Phone the RSPCA, I’m sure they will take it seriously Hmm

My dog has access to the garden all day as well as the house, some dogs prefer being outside, you don’t know if they get walked or not. I no longer walk mine, she’s old and can’t walk far without her back legs getting stiff but she likes to ha g around the garden.

I’m not sure what the point is with this post as dogs tend to use gardens, unless they look distressed and neglected I don’t see the issue?

Kahlua4me · 08/01/2019 09:39

My dog would spend all day and night in the garden if allowed. How else would he defend his castle from those pesky squirrels?

We back onto a footpath so he does bark at passers by to warn them of said squirrels too 😊

If you are concerned about the dogs and whether they are being looked after perhaps ring rspca and they can then visit the house and assess the dogs care.

flamingofridays · 08/01/2019 09:39

they look abandoned? In a back garden? why?

Billben · 08/01/2019 09:39

Christ, what a busybody you are 🙄

strawberrisc · 08/01/2019 09:39

There are dogs at the end of my cul-de-sac. They're let out at 4am. They run to the end of the garden and bark continuously at anyone walking through the cut through. They bark at the wind. Never seen them walked. They belong to the 'man of the house' but his girlfriend can't stand them and turfs them out all day. RSPCA aren't interested.

YepImafraidIchangeditagain · 08/01/2019 09:40

I think you were the original Judge......you have speculated that someone's dogs aren't safe because ShockShockTHEY'RE IN THE GARDEN!

And I prefer Judge Judy, just saying.
