How has dairy milk won Britain best chocolate? Most people I know boycotted it ages ago because it tasted like wax
What is going on!

Its a fucking conspiacy i tell thee!! Maybe people prefer chocolate that tastes like sick. Im a vet nurse so have dealt with many a dog vomiting up chocolate - smells more appetizing than dairy milk!

HollaHolla · 06/01/2019 20:02

Horrid horrid stuff. 🍫😖

RedForShort · 06/01/2019 20:07

We're going to have to vote on the best chocolate ourselves.

Dairy Milk is now naff. Even Irish Dairy Milk is now naff (ingredients was different and the Irish bar nicer).

I had a bar of chocolate from M&S over Christmas (had Christmas wrapping on it) it was very nice. I will be happy to test their non-Christmas.

DaphneDiligaf · 06/01/2019 20:09

Theres an Aldi one that tastes like Milka, I like that.

Divgirl2 · 06/01/2019 20:09

M&S do giant chocolate buttons that are responsible for at least 5 of my arse inches.

greendale17 · 06/01/2019 20:09

Another vote for M&S chocolate.

Cadbury’s is disgusting, it really is. I don’t know anyone who buys it anymore.

malificent7 · 06/01/2019 20:10

It used to be great...now tastes foul. Best chocolate? Galaxy perhaps.

Bluelonerose · 06/01/2019 20:10

Dairy milk is vile.
Malteasers should of won.

CrazyCrunk · 06/01/2019 20:11

@DaphneDiligaf which one is it although it would be better for me not to know

RaininSummer · 06/01/2019 20:11

It's greasy yuk. Just had some mini green and blacks... Not bad.

WatcherOfTheNight · 06/01/2019 20:11

Agree @LEMtheoriginal ,it's
Vile vile stuff that doesn't deserve to be called chocolate anymore.

Liars the lot of em !

Jenniferturkington · 06/01/2019 20:12

Aldi’s choceur bars are way better than Cadbury or galaxy imo

Shakirawannabe · 06/01/2019 20:13

Areo came second and galaxy 3rd

The fair trade Divine stuff you get in co-op and Oxfam is good. Especially the cappuccino flavour bar.

magoria · 06/01/2019 20:14

Where was this 'vote'? This is the first I have heard of it. I avoid Cadbury as much as possible.

SpoonBlender · 06/01/2019 20:15

Favourite currently is Aldi's Moser Roth, just the bars though - the selection packs over Christmas had palm oil in, and whether it affects the taste or not it affects my interest in buying them. To zero.

Bought a selection pack of Love Chocolate bars before Christmas, they were a mixed bag. The straight milk/dark and the salt and crunchy were pretty good. The mint wasn't great, seems like the wrong mint flavour for chocolate, and the Early Grey was overpoweringly overflavoured.

Lindt is overly waxy, but the milk and orange are decent.

Toblerones are too sweet now. May try a dark choc one if I see one ever again.

None of the Cadbury or Mars chocolate is any good any more, as far as I can tell. Not that Mars was ever much.

missmouse101 · 06/01/2019 20:15

I found even Aldi's was crap sadly. M+S Swiss chocolate is good though.

SpoonBlender · 06/01/2019 20:15

Divine! Thanks John, those are pretty good. I'd put them up level with Love Chocolate.

Nectarines · 06/01/2019 20:16

I had a bar of dark chocolate from hotel chocolat. Was absolutely delicious.

MyGirl6 · 06/01/2019 20:17

Hotel chocolat 😍😍😍

Catsize · 06/01/2019 20:17

Lindt. Especially the balls. 😁

Anyone know how/why the filling bit feels colder than the rest? 🤔

Sitranced · 06/01/2019 20:17

Cos Cadburys paid for the award no doubt.

Storybarn · 06/01/2019 20:18

Aldi Moser roth chocolate is good, actually anything other than Cadbury's.

Aquilla · 06/01/2019 20:19

Does it refer to the most consumed though?
I agree, that's a terrible result for the country's taste buds. Have the young'uns become conditioned to it now though?

WatcherOfTheNight · 06/01/2019 20:19

Galaxy isn't the same as it used to be but it's 100 times better than the plastic crap Cadbury are trying to pass off as chocolate recently!

From the chocolates I've tried recently ,the uk is desperate for a brand of decent milk Chocolate .
None seem to be as good as they used to be ...'tis a sad sad day Xmas Sad
