A growing number of MAP (minor attracted people) accounts are forming a network on Twitter. There is a push to normalise and legitimise being sexually attracted to children. The “guide” I have linked is chilling, as are the accounts with MAP tags - they often have AOA in their bio...their “age of attraction”. So AOA 6mnths-4 years is a sexual attraction to children of that age.

Twitter is a huge business, with enormous power - they could, if they chose, take a stand against this.

I have not seen quite so many “ooo what about the poor trans” supporters on one thread in a long time / ever. Why the fuck would you me-rail / trans-rail this thread?

I believe the usual technique is to claim that those commenting on paedophiles are actually conflating them with the trans community - even though, mainly, the latter's only been mentioned because PPs regret child abusers trying to "latch onto" their campaign

I'm another who's learned more than I can say from Datun, Ereshkigal and several others, but what I still don't understand is why everyone doesn't seem to want to stand together on this. I'd have thought that all would be on the same page when it comes to protecting innocent children, but it seems I'm wrong

Now, here's the interesting thing: within the first page, OP had connected the (vile) open presence of paedophiles on twitter with trans rights. Even before she had, other posters had already shoehorned it in with their comparisons of twitter censoring GC accounts and apparently not taking any action on this issue. So I don't really see that 'trans-railing' happened because of a trans-sympathetic 'what about the trans?' contingent, at all.

What do you think Twitter should do about the influx of paedophile accounts into Twitter? What should they do about high profile men with extreme fetishes for young girls? Should they suspend women who are raising awareness?

I'm actually not sure why you're interested in my answer to this, I can't claim any expertise and I don't even use Twitter. I suppose I think they should suspend such users and delete the content, and where appropriate refer it to the police? Should they suspend women who are raising awareness - well not for doing so, obviously not, although I guess if 'raising awareness' were to extend to doxxing etc then that should be deleted or whatever accordingly.

FWIW I also mainly lurk, and I mainly avoid trans related discussion on MN because it is just too tiring and unproductive, I got sucked into it here because I thought it was shit to drag trans into a conversation about child sex abuse, and because it's full of the usual browbeating which is too often celebrated as 'robust debate' and it's just bollocks, really.
