To think this is pointless (Primark tills)

I came across this on facebook and although its a good idea in theory I cant help but think its abit pointless, A till specifically for disabled customers. Ive never seen any in my local stores so dont know how many Primarks have it.
But apparently you can also use it if you are pregnant or have a double buggy 🙄 Surely the queues will be just as long then? and surely its a choice to buy a pram so wide it doesnt fit at the other tills?!

PP with disabilities who need to use these tills please don't justify yourselves to this OP! You are all well within your rights to use said tills as that's what they're there for!

Some Primark's will let double prams/pregnant women use them but they're solely for Wheelchair users.

whatsthepointthen · 05/01/2019 02:26

Once again I never said anything about people with disabilities IM TALKING ABOUT PEOPLE WITH PRAMS OR PREGNANT. Clear enough?!

Then they are not “solely” for wheelchair users if some will allow pregnant women or people with prams use them.

Some people must be reading a different thread or just trying to be offended for the sake of it. Once again I will say, they are pointless IF pregnant women and people with prams can use them as the queues will be just as long as at a regular till, on the fb post it said the
point of them was so “you never have to queue” see pics!! However it turns out you will need to therefore the queue wont be any quicker. I think its a good thing but should be strictly for disabled people so stop trying to be offended over
something im not saying. 🙄

Sashkin · 05/01/2019 02:44

OP you also said they shouldn’t be used by people with autism or hidden disabilities. Would you care to backtrack on that as well, or is having ASD somehow all your own fault as well?

ohtheholidays · 05/01/2019 02:55

Our orginal Primark had 2 of these tills and they were an amazing help for myself(I'm disabled)and for 2 of our 5DC that are disabled.

Sadly they built a bigger, shinier new primark where I live and they didn't put the disability tills into the new store.

whatsthepointthen · 05/01/2019 02:59

Backtrack?! its right in my op. Carry on making things up to be offended by though 😂😄

whatsthepointthen · 05/01/2019 03:03

Please also point me to where I said people with asd shouldnt use them Grin laughable

14:49 whatsthepointthen

takitaki no apparently its for all disabilities (hidden disabilites aswell) so those with asd or who cant stand for long periods of time, not just wheelchair pram users. Hence me saying the queue will be just as
long, but people want to twist what im saying

thats exactly what I said where did I say they shouldnt use them???? 😂 I said the queue will be “just as long” please show me where I said they shouldnt use it though? 😂 oh thats right you cant

Where does it say that people with double buggies can use that till?

whatsthepointthen · 05/01/2019 03:13

On facebook.

OP posts:
Grahamiscrackers · 05/01/2019 03:19

I’m not sure I understand the ire at the OP?

I think she is saying she is happy that there is a till for people with disabilities but she is annoyed (on the behalf of people with disabilities) that being pg or having a double buggy also entitles you to use that till - thus making the queue for that till longer than it needs to be?

Confused

Quick question and advice please....

Has anyone been sectioned here and if so what was your experience like? Was you allowed to go out for walks and was you allowed to take your phone with you? Etc

I don't think I'm far off and health professionals around me are concerned. I can't come up with a solution on how to get better. I really thought returning to work would be the answer but the health professionals around me putting me down as unfit to work!

Any advice would be nice

whatsthepointthen · 05/01/2019 03:29

Grahamiscrackers

Thats exactly what im saying, Thank you for getting it. They just want to twist my words for whatever reason. Even saying I said people with asd shouldnt use the tills when if you see my above comment thats all I said, im struggling to see where I said they shouldnt use it. My op is clear that im saying it will be pointless if according to the person on facebook which I uploaded, the point was that you dont have to queue. People on here would obviously rather twist my words.

OP posts:
whatsthepointthen · 05/01/2019 03:32

might be easier to start a new
post Skysha as you will get more comments this hasnt happened to me but I know someone who was sectioned and he was allowed to take his phone and also go out. Hope you’re ok

I agree with you whatsthepointhen
People with disabilities are agreeing with you. Those who use double buggies, have young children have an issue with what you're saying hmmm

rededucator · 05/01/2019 04:22

A Primark FB post or from a third party? If it's third party it might not be accurate. I agree with OP POV.

Lifecanbeabeach2 · 05/01/2019 06:47

I get the point about pushchairs TBH I do struggle daily with the battles of pushchairs.
My daughter is a wheel chair user and the things that are there to make our life’s a little easier always do end up in battles with pushchairs.

ellesbellesxxx · 05/01/2019 06:53

@whatsthepointthen

As a parent of twins, I happily queue with everyone else so wouldn’t expect to use this. Just a polite comment to say that side by side prams for two toddlers are far easier logistically to use than a tandem pram. I am not deliberately setting out to get in the way!

44PumpLane · 05/01/2019 07:26

whatsthepointthen

im not, pick whatever pram you want just dont complain when you cant fit down the aisles and expect special treatment for your choices.

I literally didn't.

I specifically said I chose the slimmest tandem I could and would happily queue because my pram fits.

I also pointed out that any inconvenience I had was short lived and I wouldn't expect to use accomodations that those with disabilities have fought for.

I think that if you are able to queue in the standard queue you have no business taking up space in the improved access queue. If thats also your point then great.

44PumpLane · 05/01/2019 07:28

Sorry I meant I chose the slimmest side by side!

Totally agree- so much easier!

Kpo58 · 05/01/2019 08:39

OP is your real objection that you don't want people with double buggies shopping in Primark? If they have made the queues to the tills too narrow for wheelchairs then no type of double/tandem buggy will fit either. You you are basically saying these people cannot pay for their items, therefore are not allowed to shop there.

JudasPrudy · 05/01/2019 08:53

I want to go and get pregnant now just so I can use a double buggy and piss wankers like the OP off.

Isn't Mumsnet about making parents lives easier?

MakeAHouseAHome · 05/01/2019 09:33

I don't know why some people (only seems to be mothers...) are getting so mad at the OPs point that these should only be used by disabled people!?

Mothers and pregnant people should have bo right to use these. You aren't disabled, but you do act with a ridiculous sense of entitlement.

As for the buggy issue with twins, don't be idiotic there are plenty of pram options that don't require you to move what is essentially a small car around. Choose a sensible pram option rather than whinging.

SoyDora · 05/01/2019 09:36

MakeAHouseAHome I don’t know about anyone else but the reason I’m getting annoyed is because Primark haven’t provided this service due to the demands of entitled mothers/pregnant women. They have chosen to provide it to increase their footfall and sales. It’s a business decision on their part, nothing to do with the demands from previous, over entitled mothers.

Huffleypuff · 05/01/2019 11:33

Oh, the irony Grin

Kpo58 · 05/01/2019 11:52

When I go shopping I hire 2 nannies. One to hold the youngest and the other to hold the oldest when she gets too tired to walk. This also solves the cubicle problem if I need to use the facilities when out I also hire someone to carry all my shopping. Obviously I don't shop in Primark as then I'll have to associate with poor people and their "buggies".
