To be bloody delighted we have no NYE plans this year!

I really don’t love NYE it always feels like a let down and now, after five years of plans that were all a bit meh it turned out, we are going to be home alone with takeaway or cheeseboard, a bottle of lovely champagne and whichever film or trash tv we choose, maybe a card game...

And I am SO HAPPY about it.

just spoke to a few friends who said “you should at least get out to the local for one or two, it’s NYE!!!” And seemed completely appalled that I would consider champagne in my pjs a good way to see in the new year Grin

Happy New year everyone. We had a really quiet one. I was planning to make a really luxurious smoked haddock and seafood risotto but DP coming down with a cold so it seemed a lot of effort and expense for something he really didn't fancy eating as he said he couldnt taste much. We were staying in anyway and ended up having what he thought he would fancy - fish fingers, oven chips and beans! It was oddly lovely. Then watched the spy cam in the snow programme from the other night with a few nice glasses of shiraz then bed at 9:30. Perfect Smile

Happy New Year, MN!

I was alone NYE, will be alone today (work Wednesday) and loving it! no stress or expense, PJ day today. Like many others, I simply stopped enjoying parties and the NYE pub scene.

Recently single again, and fine with that! (for now Grin)

Last night I was asleep by 9.30, slept through to 5.30, got up at 6 and made tea, breakfast at 7, it's beautifully sunny here and we're heading out for a stroll. This is how i like to do new years.

So you can all wake up this morning not too hung over and safe in the knowledge that you did what you want to do rather than what you feel pressured into and probably saved some cash and a hangover

looking forward to the New year with a clear head its twenty passed nine and no one has fucked it up yet !

Happy New Year all. Going out wasn't as awful as we expected, got home at 2, mainly sober, had a long lie which is a rarity for us. Lovely day so wrapping up and heading to the beach after a big breakfast. Have a good unhungover day!

Haven't been out on NYE for years, hate parties and crowds of people especially drunk people, went to bed early to get some sleep in before the fireworks woke me up, got up this morning, bright and bouncy, no hangover, shower with lovely smelling Christmas presents and clean pyjamas on. Doing some tidying up, watching tv and maybe take the tree down today. Liking the sound of the espresso martinis, might have to try one.

More and more I am seeing women on this website saying NO, I am not participating in the BS anymore and it gives me hope for the future of our country. I am not kidding you.

Small "no's" have begun to be heard. No, I am not buying adults presents for Christmas, no I am not doing cards because it is wasteful. No I am not going out on NYE because everyone has always done this from the start of time.

Are we bringing to see WOKE emerge in other areas of life?

As for us, I don't like going out on NYE. I don't need a 2-day hangover thanks. Last year was a bad'un for me. I felt like crap for the most of it. I am glad it is over and I feel a good vibe for this year.

Happy NY and best wishes for 2019 X

You tube karaoke, prosecco & wine, nibbles and board games had a great time with my adult daughter and just me :)
