To be bloody delighted we have no NYE plans this year!

I really don’t love NYE it always feels like a let down and now, after five years of plans that were all a bit meh it turned out, we are going to be home alone with takeaway or cheeseboard, a bottle of lovely champagne and whichever film or trash tv we choose, maybe a card game...

And I am SO HAPPY about it.

just spoke to a few friends who said “you should at least get out to the local for one or two, it’s NYE!!!” And seemed completely appalled that I would consider champagne in my pjs a good way to see in the new year

Wild horses couldn't drag me out tonight. We've had some good NYEs over the years, but after a particularly tiring, busy Christmas with family, we've had a nice walk, got a stew out of freezer (STEW!! on NY's eve! I'm sick of all the rich food) and whatever we want to drink.

Yup, it will just be DH and myself having a quiet night in and looking forward to it .DS and DD will be out with their friends. I’ll be doing well if I’m still awake at the bells.Hogmany is overrated.Theres a huge street party going on in the city centre and I couldn’t think of anything worse than being surrounded and crushed by drunk strangers with people peeing where they stand ie, all over anyone’s shoes.

To those concerned about my personal hygiene, I sleep naked, clean pjs were put on after this morning’s (hasty, after sex) shower.

I'm wearing loungewear....ostensibly the same thing just a pair of cashmere loose trousers and jumper from M&S and no I don't look as good in them as Rosie does except in my head

They are ....and far too nice (and frankly far too warm) to wear in bed.

I have cracked open the wine! A little bit early but hey it's NYE! Plus I'm cutting down from tomorrow. I feel stupidly excited about my snacks and TV plans tonight. NYE at home rocks

I’m in the bath. Going out in 2 hours (will be 10 pm here). Am beyond grumpy. Just want to stay in. Will stay for the fireworks at midnight then heading straight home!

Kids are super excited, DH succumbed to the “what are you doing for NYE” nonsense but didn’t want to pay overinflated restaurant prices (we live in a tourist area).

I have prossecco, Brie and all sorts of goodies in the house along with a real fire and toaster pjs and I’m going out into the -4 degree cold, in my thermals, to drink overpriced luke-warm mulled wine for 2 hours...

I hate NYE.

we are not going out, no special film, no party food, and I am THRILLED.

I used my day off to make a vat of bolognese for the freezer, and am totally ready for a normal supper. I'll have a glass of the wine leftover from making the bolognese, and go to bed with my book early enough that I'm asleep before the fireworks.

Normally I'm happy to cover work as well, but Monday is a non working day for me. And we were out late on both the 29th (MIL's birthday) and 30th (theatre) so we're not total hermits.

I've been delighted to have no NYE plans for over a decade now. The most over rated day of the year!

Staying at home with adult DS, will watch the Madness New Year thing on BBC1, could have gone to DPs but DM would have made a face as I'm already drinking Rose and DS would have been on his own (TBF he's 26 and doesn't actually care either way but it's a reason and I'm sticking to it!!) Might go out into the street at midnight so not in my pjs.

We are supposed to be going to party- husband asleep on sofa, baby asleep on me, would be so happy to stay here. Fingers crossed they wake up and it’s too late to go 🤞🏼

I'm in my pj's already. I've done my time of being out till all hours in the past and am going to enjoy being cabined up and having a quiet one. NYE is just a normal night for me.

Thanks mmmgoats. We have just eaten nachos with the DCs instead of having to make party food. I will put on my pyjamas when the kids do (don’t wear them to sleep either, just for lounging) and DH has promised to make me a margarita.

I am embracing the staying in.

I haven't been out for it since the year 2000. I'm trying to lick a terrible virus so am going to be sober and likely in bed soon after the bells. All the kids are going out. DH has to work tomorrow so it will be just a quiet night for me and him.
