To ask if anybody on here is pro-life?

When it comes to the subject of abortion I've noticed a high number of people on here are very pro-choice and support abortion. Is there anybody else, like me, who doesn't?

Everybody is entitled to their opinion of course and I don't think badly of anybody who has had a termination and I don't judge. It's only my personal outlook and life experiences that shape my view and was wondering if I really am in the minority here?

Not the nicest way of putting it, but from a logical point of veiw it's not insane. If you don't want something to happen don't do the the thing that could result in it happening.

Drogosnextwife · 29/12/2018 20:22

I'd be embarrassed to be pro-life.

Good input to the debate there.

formerbabe · 29/12/2018 20:23

I don't want to be run over by a bus...I still cross the road. I just try to do it as carefully as possible.

Drogosnextwife · 29/12/2018 20:28

But if you never cross or go near a road then you will never get run over by a bus.

Drogosnextwife · 29/12/2018 20:28

Crossing the road carefully is a good idea, doesn't eliminate the risk of being run over.

JacquesHammer · 29/12/2018 20:29

If you don't want something to happen don't do the the thing that could result in it happening

Or carry on doing it carefully with the knowledge that it’s easily sorted it the “thing” happens...?

Drogosnextwife · 29/12/2018 20:30

Not easily sorted if you get run over by a bus.

Drogosnextwife · 29/12/2018 20:31

Also don't really think abortion is easy for anyone who goes through it, but ok.

ElonMask · 29/12/2018 20:31

The state does not have a moral obligation to allow you to have risk free sexual intercourse.

This. I use contraception because I don't want another child. Should I never have sex with DH ever again just in case it fails!!? Seriously?

What do you think people did for the entirety of human history ? What makes you think the state has a moral obligation to enable you to have as much sexual intercourse as you want ?

JacquesHammer · 29/12/2018 20:31

Not easily sorted if you get run over by a bus

Which is why I wasn’t referencing your daft analogy Grin

If I get pregnant it’s easily sorted with no stress. Simple enough?

Thesearmsofmine · 29/12/2018 20:31

If you don't want to have a baby don't fucking have sex. Even the best contraception in the world isnt 100% so unless you're willing to accept that 1% chance it might happen then just don't fucking SHAG SOMEONE. Not hard is it?

So I should never have sex with my husband again? You are embarrassing yourself spouting that kind of drivel.

ElonMask · 29/12/2018 20:32

I don't want to be run over by a bus...I still cross the road.

Do you cross the road out of necessity or for fun though ?

JacquesHammer · 29/12/2018 20:32

What do you think people did for the entirety of human history ? What makes you think the state has a moral obligation to enable you to have as much sexual intercourse as you want

You keep banging this drum.

The fact is I can have as much sex as I want and the state will sort it. It’s meaningless whether you think it has a moral obligation or not.

ElonMask · 29/12/2018 20:34

If I get pregnant it’s easily sorted with no stress. Simple enough?

Suppose there were no contraception, but there was abortion. Would this influence your sex life ? It being so "easily" sorted after all.

JacquesHammer · 29/12/2018 20:34

Sorry Drogo - meant “the” not “your” in that sentence. The rest stands Grin

formerbabe · 29/12/2018 20:35

Do you cross the road out of necessity or for fun though

Depends what's on the other side!

JacquesHammer · 29/12/2018 20:35

Suppose there were no contraception, but there was abortion. Would this influence your sex life ? It being so "easily" sorted after all

No. I would carry on with my sex life exactly as is. It would be riskier but not substantially so.

But again, it’s a pointless discussion point given there is contraception.

ElonMask · 29/12/2018 20:36

It’s meaningless whether you think it has a moral obligation or not

How is it meaningless when you are arguing it does have a moral obligation to terminate pregnancy whenever and for any reason a woman demands ? Morality is the crux of the whole debate.

formerbabe · 29/12/2018 20:37

Also don't really think abortion is easy for anyone who goes through it, but ok

It is easy for some people.

JacquesHammer · 29/12/2018 20:39

How is it meaningless when you are arguing it does have a moral obligation to terminate pregnancy whenever and for any reason a woman demands ? Morality is the crux of the whole debate

No. I’m saying it simply does. It’s making use of the system as the law states.

Drogosnextwife · 29/12/2018 20:39

Which is why I wasn’t referencing your daft analogy

Read back a bit further, it wasn't my daft analogy, thank you Grin

JacquesHammer · 29/12/2018 20:39

Read back a bit further, it wasn't my daft analogy, thank you

Read back a bit further. You’ll see I corrected myself. Thank you.

ElonMask · 29/12/2018 20:40

No. I would carry on with my sex life exactly as is. It would be riskier but not substantially so.

Strange answer, but fair enough.

Depends what's on the other side!

Another strange answer...the act of sex is undertaken in pursuit of something else ? Or the analogy is shit.

JacquesHammer · 29/12/2018 20:40

Strange answer, but fair enough

Why is it strange? My risk of pregnancy is minimal without contraception. Abortion is available if I did get pregnant. There’s no reason to change

canibehereifimnotamum · 29/12/2018 20:41

I used a condom and it split, I took the MAP hours later. I still got pregnant. Should I of gone through with my pregnancy even though I did everything in my power to not have a baby. You don't know what people's situations are so don't judge
