god knows I am.

'd'H and inlaw related...has ruined the whole day. trying to hold it together for our lovely kids but so sick and tired of it all. don't want to bore you with details...but am so tired of looking after everyone and no-one really looking after me.

first world problems blah blah i know, but to all of those struggling with 'perfect' christmases and families - you ain't alone. just want a handhold in return i guess!

I'm so sorry so many have had awful Christmasses to one degree or another, I can sympathise to a certain extent.

My MIL died on Boxing Day last year so it was our first Christmas after she died. Kind of had it hanging over us for a whole year, not looking forward to Christmas and her not being there. It was sad, but we made the most of it, and of course the first anniversary of her death was the day after Christmas. FIL did come down for a visit and we saw him on the 23rd though.

Dh lost his job this year and, in our small town and surrounding towns, many factories and businesses have folded over the last few months so there are many more people going for the few jobs that come up, so there is just too much competition for what work there is so we're finding it hard to find work. This meant money was very sparse recently, but our church/people in the church have really helped us so we managed to get a couple of gifts for the boys and had food in for the last couple of months after savings ran out. Thankfully the boys understand and we still celebrated the real meaning of Christmas, just with fewer things this year.

2018 has been pretty awful for us as a whole and we are hoping for a much better 2019. Dh had a job interview (he has had quite a few over the last couple of months, just never offered a job) on the 29th, so we will see if anything comes of that.

Here's to a better year next year, not just for us, but for so many of you out there.

And on a lighter note. When I typed out Christmasses earlier it auto corrected to Christmas sex. And auto corrected just changed to uncorrected!

It's all super hyped in the media. We have images of perfection.
Nobody really gets their dream on Christmas day.
Just do it for the little ones to smile and lower your expectations about anything else.
Xmas Smile
