Just wondering what Time is the earliest your kids are allowed up?

When I was a kid I used to be bouncing on my parents bed from 5am - I don't know how they did it.

Dh said not before 6 but kind of hoping that they sleep longer as I still have loads to do.

Mine usually wake about 8am regardless of what day it is. They are 4 and 5

Whataboutbobbo · 25/12/2018 00:18

Whatever time he wakes up is ok!

Sunnysidegold · 25/12/2018 00:19

Ours typically get up around 6.30 bitnwe have told them to stay in bed with their stockings until 7. Santa has just filled the stockings. I'm scared odnwhat will happen if they wake!

ButteryParsnips · 25/12/2018 00:19

They're told not before 6.30 here

NoShitHemlock · 25/12/2018 00:24

HAHAHAHAHAHA @ allow - like I ever had a choice!

Used to be stupid o'clock Sad and now she is a teenager its more like how long do I let her sleep in. Its awesome Grin

TwoScottieDogs · 25/12/2018 00:28

We have always told our DD that Santa delivers alphabetically by town and we live near York, so we are one of the last areas to be visited by Santa. That usually buys us a lie in until 7.30am!! Grin

NightOwlHoney · 25/12/2018 00:32

We tell ours 8am and if they come through before then, it's 8.30!

italiancortado · 25/12/2018 00:35

I have told mine anything after 5 is fair game. I literally can't wait to watch them open their presents Grin

sweetkitty · 25/12/2018 00:36

6am

Flusteredwintertime · 25/12/2018 00:40

Mine will probably get up around 9-9:30ish (he's 3 and always has at least 12 hours sleep so I took him up at 9 for this very reason) and will wander downstairs on his own then come back up to wake us up (I wake up on hearing his door open so will be halfway ready to come down but DH might need some prodding and poking)

Hoping it's no earlier than 9 because I'm still not in bed yet!

ChangingStates · 25/12/2018 00:54

6am here, expect them to be awake long before then but hoping they stick to their rooms until 6 as instructed!

chipsandgin · 25/12/2018 00:57

Nothing before 7, ever for any reason other than catching a plane. They’ve always complied - tomorrow I’m hoping for 8.30...

Topseyt · 25/12/2018 01:00

We've agreed on 9am with our three. Mind you, our youngest is 16 now, so they are hardly small children. They like their sleep.

When they were little then 6am would have been considered a lie in for Christmas morning. Then we managed to push it to 7am and last year it was 8am.

AutumnColours9 · 25/12/2018 01:00

Mine are all lazy luckily. 8.30/9am is about the earliest we do.

SparkleBanana · 25/12/2018 01:03

It was always 7 when I was younger so I’ve stuck with that

helpmedecidepleas · 25/12/2018 01:09

L

bumbleymummy · 25/12/2018 01:10

7 here as well

Zoflorabore · 25/12/2018 01:15

Last year we had to wake ours up!
They like their sleep. Ds ( nearly 16 ) said he's getting up at 7 and dd ( nearly 8 ) said the same but has just woke up as she's not well and has a nasty cough. Dp is still wrapping the presents Grin so I've told her that she needs to stay upstairs or Santa can't come.
Just been up to check and she's asleep again thank god.

It's going to be one of those nights, I've got severe toothache and am exhausted but every time I lay down it throbs ( anyone know why that is? ) and as soon as I'm upright it calms so I'm going to fall asleep sat in the kitchen! Happy Christmas.

makingmiracles · 25/12/2018 01:20

THE last two days we’ve had early starts and long busy days, so im hoping that buys me till at least 8.30 Xmas HmmXmas Grin

notangelinajolie · 25/12/2018 01:30

My 3 are grown up now still here though but as children none of them ever got up early. Infact we had to go and get them to come downstairs. I have no idea what we must have told them about Santa but clearly it worked. Not expecting any of them to be up and about before 11am but I suspect nowadays that's probably got more to do with late night/ alcohol than fear of Santa catching them out of bed Grin

Wonkysack · 25/12/2018 01:35

Mines up already
Ffs

MustShowDH · 25/12/2018 01:35

I am looking forward to when mine is a teenager and we can all sleep in until midday!
She's 8, I've not gone to bed yet.....

poppiesallykatie · 25/12/2018 01:35

mine were down at 3am one morning (me and DH were barely in bed an hour), they snuck down and as they were quite small, there was no going back, the mayhem had started. Worst Christmas Day ever, asleep for half of it. Strict rules now 7-8am. Stockings were usually left in their room at the end of the bed and so if they were full they knew Santa had come; now they are in the living room with everything else.

delboysskinandblister · 25/12/2018 01:37

@twoscottiedogs

loving your work Xmas Grin

pinkiepie1 · 25/12/2018 01:38
