Just wondering what Time is the earliest your kids are allowed up?

When I was a kid I used to be bouncing on my parents bed from 5am - I don't know how they did it.

Dh said not before 6 but kind of hoping that they sleep longer as I still have loads to do.

brookshelley she’s always known to wait for me to come and get her. She was awake this morning but usually she’s not or only just waking up. She has toys and books in her room to play with until I get her. I usually only leave her 5-10 mins after I hear her wake up

We imposed a "no getting up before 7am at the weekend or in the holidays" rule several years ago, when the kids were something like 4, 8 and 10. We still stick to that.

Eldest is 13 and just starting to sleep in a bit later sometimes - once she slept til 9am... but 11 and 7 year olds are still always downstairs on the dot of 7am, no matter when they went to bed. They have to be up at 6am on a school day, so it's hard wired.

The older two always got up at 5:30am every day before we brought in the 7am at weekends and in the holidays rule, so then Christmas was the same.

We do presents on Christmas eve afternoon (they "appear" under the tree while the kids watch a film elsewhere after lunch, nothing to see before that) and only stockings on the morning of the 25th, so there is no incentive to get up at 5am beyond whatever incentive there is on any random Sunday if you're a child...

I don’t know if I have particularly obedient children but mine get up when I tell them they can! They have a clock in their room (they’re 5 and 3) and were told either 8am (they went to bed at 8 and usually have 12 hours) or when we get them up. I heard them stirring from about 7 and we got them up at half past, but if we hadn’t they’d have stayed in bed until 8!

This year, we set up a DVD player in the kids' room. They had instructions that they could open their stockings and watch dvds but not to wake us until 7am.
Dd woke up at 2.30am but that is normal for her because of her autism.

I beg them to get up at 1130 😄😄

@CatLadyToddlerMother I wish I had such a compliant child. Mine has toys books and best of all her sister but she still comes into our room at 6 am wanting to be entertained Confused
