I've been told that is utterly ridiculous to spend that amount of money for that but I still love the jumper!

You could wear that anytime. If you can afford and love it, why not. Are you worried recipient won't like it?

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 21/12/2018 18:36

Does the intended recipient happen to be a giraffe? If so, it's definitely not unreasonable. (Christmas sweaters for giraffes need a lot of wool.)

I really like both of them

pollymere · 21/12/2018 18:42

Dh valued it at £30, even with the alpaca wool. It strikes me it will lose its shape very quickly and the nylon will bobble. I love the colours but think there are far better made jumpers for less money.

Bobbybear10 · 21/12/2018 18:42

I like both of them!

If I could afford to spend that much on clothes then I would buy either, so if you can afford to buy them don’t feel bad and enjoy.

I’d wear this through to spring.... not that unreasonable and it sounds like a jumper you bought someone for Xmas as opposed to a Xmas jumper. Go for your life. YANBU

ferrier · 21/12/2018 18:49

I don't understand why anyone would spend £118 on a jumper that looks like it's worth about £10.

amusedbush · 21/12/2018 18:52

I have a very similar jumper from Tesco.

Vivianebrezilletbrooks · 21/12/2018 18:54

Unreasonable isn't the word. Bonkers is the word. For something only worn for a few days a year, totally ridiculous amount of money.

Jaxhog · 21/12/2018 19:01

Don't change it, it's lovely! I think the stripey one is more wearable beyond Christmas. Its also alpaca, which is gorgeous next to the skin. The sequin one is acrylic, which is not nice.

Deathraystare · 21/12/2018 19:04

Just give me the money!

katekat383 · 21/12/2018 19:13

The OP is misleading. Everyone knows that a Christmas jumper is a piece of tacky tat. What you bought does not sound like the ubiquitous type. However, it was ridiculous to spend that on something from Anthropologie of all places.

HandsFaceTeeth · 21/12/2018 19:16

Agree

katekat383 · 21/12/2018 19:17

It looks like the Emperor’s “new clothes”.

Dita73 · 21/12/2018 19:20

Don’t you just love people who post things like this 🙄

Bluesmartiesarebest · 21/12/2018 19:22

YABU, unless you are very rich with more money than sense.

MysteriesOfTheOrganism · 21/12/2018 19:45

Perfectly fine to spend that amount - if you're a fan of the old Zoom ice-lolly Grin

If it’s anthropology then it’s kist a regular priced item. Nice to get someone something they would never spend on themselves

Kikidelivers · 21/12/2018 19:51

Dh valued it at £30, even with the alpaca wool.

Return it OP.

A poster’s husband has made his judgement, and it’s not worth it.

^ Grin. A man has spoken.

MadMadaMim · 21/12/2018 19:58

Lovely jumper.
If you can afford it and you like I, why do you care what anyone else thinks?

One IMPORTANT point, I'd never give dry clean only items as gifts... Maybe that's only because I don't like dry cleaners...

MsJudgemental · 21/12/2018 19:59

Much prefer the sequined one!
