I've been told that is utterly ridiculous to spend that amount of money for that but I still love the jumper!

Because to some people £118 for a jumper is another’s equivalent primark jumper it’s all relative. If you or the kids are eating beans for a year then different story

Stormy76 · 21/12/2018 23:41

If that's what you want to spend on a present ....what's it got to do with anyone else? I wouldn't give dry clean only items as gift....that's a pain in the arse.

Crazyaboutdots · 21/12/2018 23:45

Wow, I never expected to receive so many messages!
Honestly, thanks everyone and don't worry, I don't work for the company. I'm just a big fun of the brand that's it.
The recipient is 14 years old and is my goddaughter.
Still feel like to exchange it on Monday for the Sequin one, which looks like more fun!
I promise I will never ask you about something so silly againXmas Grin

You've lost your marbles...

ChristmasKnickers · 22/12/2018 00:47

No 14 year old that I know would like either of these...I have two teenage daughters..(although I love the striped one tbh). And dry clean only?? For a child?? I'm assuming you're going to pay for this too...not sure pocket money will stretch! 😳

Motoko · 22/12/2018 01:17

The stripy one might be ok for a teenager, if it was washable, but the sequin one is a bit "old" for a 14 year old.

Really, for a teenager, you'd be better off getting a gift card for a high street brand like New Look or Top Shop. Why don't you ask her mum what she likes?

Bumbumtaloo · 22/12/2018 01:54

Just seen your latest update OP, I don’t think a 14yo girl would like, or wear, the sequin one. Seems to ‘old’. Tbh I wouldn’t buy either of them for that age. Sorry.

14? Xmas Confused

Banana1979 · 22/12/2018 02:31

I just saw this jumper you bought. Its not a xmas looking jumper. It's quite nice actually but would only look good tucked in. Its pretty shapeless otherwise. It doesn't look very warm either amd better for spring time. Id say £60 tops i dont think looking at the knit its worth what you paid. I bet it will be half the price in jan sale

Banana1979 · 22/12/2018 02:34

And definitely would not buy this for a 14 year old. Its made for women not kids and for that money you could buy stuff from new look or jd sports ect which shed appreciate more
I cant see a 14 year old in this what a bizzare choice for a kid

kateandme · 22/12/2018 03:31

just searched for the jumper.i still come up with brain stoppage when I see people being able to spend this much on a jumper!
but that's just me.and many people can so its all relative.this price might be the pirce a asda jumper would be for me.
but i also cant lie, just to compare and contrast that at places (still higher end) like white stuff etc have gorgeous looking jumpers for half the price :(
but i guess if i had that much money to psend on jumpers i would even think on it.

kateandme · 22/12/2018 03:33

Banana1979 that was my thoughts but then i thought if people are going to this shop and spending this much on jumper they wouldn't shop at new look like we would?is anthrapologie there new look?

Rainatnight · 22/12/2018 04:26

I've actually spent precisely this on two jumpers as Christmas presents. One for my DM, who absolutely LOVED a Whistles jumper she saw when we were shopping together and stood and looked at it for about ten minutes.

And one for DP, who has been banging on about a particular Toast jumper literally ALL year.

So in general, I don't think this is U if you can afford but but it's not a very 14 year old present.

LisaD76 · 22/12/2018 05:26

Sorry does not look like it is worth the money they are asking... looks thin and will wear badly and is just a basic machine knit

a1poshpaws · 22/12/2018 05:38

I googled "Festive Striped Jumper- Anthropologie" and I like it. Good choice as far as I'm concerned, though way out of my own price bracket!

Cecilia2016 · 22/12/2018 07:30

If I bought that jumper for my 14 years old she will ask me to take it back straight away.

Motoko · 22/12/2018 08:14

Teens are not the demographic that Anthro are aiming at.

Applepudding2018 · 22/12/2018 08:38

Oh it's for a 14 year old? I imagined it was for your sister or friend. Ok. Yes I do know some teenagers who would wear a baggy jumper- is this the kind of thing your god daughter would wear? I agree with others that the sequin jumper is probably not for a teen - if it had a lower neckline I would love the sequin jumper - but I'm 40 years older!

SoyDora · 22/12/2018 08:41

Is it her style? I don’t hate it but I don’t know many 14 year olds who would choose it.
You know her though and we don’t

Roussette · 22/12/2018 08:53

Why the heck are you spending so much on a 14 year old (even if you can afford it)
I never spent that much on my own children! (and we're comfortably off)

Do you know her well enough to know she will love it? Chances are she won't. The stripey one looks beyond itchy and the sequin one looks beyond dated. They have jumpers like that in M&Co for £8

What's the point of this thread if you've already bought it and happy with your choice

Putyourdamnshoeson · 22/12/2018 09:00

Oh my god! I personally like it, but wouldn't buy it. For a 14 year old it's the silliest thing I've ever read!

MsLexic · 22/12/2018 10:48

I have no idea why you would tell us this. It is a lot of money for a festive sweater and I certainly would not pay that, but if you can afford it then fine. If you can't afford then yes, it's absurd.

F1ame · 22/12/2018 11:22

No OP. This is an outrage. You must only shop in Primark and DO NOT under any circumstances buy a stripy jumper that costs more than a tenner.

Well you did ask, didn’t you. Confused

Only you know your god-daughter and if you think she’ll like this jumper, why not? You would pay a lot more than that in other shops! I buy loads of dresses from Anthropologie. Some of it’s a bit flowery / hippy for me, but they make some great things. My daughters and I love some of the homewares from there and we bought a beautiful armchair in there too. Obviously I wouldn’t do the whole house in Anthropologie stuff, but the odd piece works. I love their marble coasters, for instance.

If you like the jumper, don’t listen to randoms on here.

ralfeesmum · 22/12/2018 11:23

100% Cashmere I hope. Otherwise 118 may be a bit steep, but it's your call. Happy Xmas.

Teagoanngoanngoann · 22/12/2018 11:33

I hope you are putting a gift receipt in with it Grin just in case its not suitable xx
