I've been told that is utterly ridiculous to spend that amount of money for that but I still love the jumper!

Yanbu to spend that amount on a jumper. I buy quality clothes because I want them to last and I’m more into plain simple clothes than high fashion so my wardrobe isn’t disposable.

YABU to spend the money on THAT jumper though, it’s ghastly Grin

Kikidelivers · 21/12/2018 17:46

Yes of course it is. You know that, I know that, everyone knows it.

Nope. “Everyone” doesn’t know it. Speak for yourself!

CakeNinja · 21/12/2018 17:47

Although seeing your update, I do much prefer the confetti one, very pretty.

2018SoFarSoGreat · 21/12/2018 17:49

I hate this thread. Since reading it and looking at the frickin jumper, I have been inundated with flashing pictures of it on every app I have gone to. Thanks, OP.

Horrible jumper by the way.

Kikidelivers · 21/12/2018 17:49

It’s gorgeous OP

Can’t be bothered to read full thread... who’s it for?!

PippilottaLongstocking · 21/12/2018 17:53

If that’s the amount you would usually spend on the recipient, you can afford it, and you know they’ll love it then why not!

sunshine11 · 21/12/2018 17:54

I’m guessing it’s this one...
Not my cup of tea but someone might like it.

Always remember going shopping with a flat mate about 12 years ago.

She brought a £6 cream jumper from pri mark

I brought a £98 cream jumper from Joseph

My flat mate was scathing!

Hers looked awful after one wash. Binned it after two.

12 years later, I still Get comments asking where I got my beautiful jumper from.

Hezz · 21/12/2018 17:54

The sequin one is way nicer

Heartofglass21 · 21/12/2018 17:55

You work for the company, don't you, OP?

Port1ajazz · 21/12/2018 17:57

Crazyaboutdots , it's your money , it's your choice so don't feel guilty !

Serin · 21/12/2018 17:59

It depends how much money you have and what your priorities are. I buy one of my kids John Smedley jumpers because he has eczema and they are the softest I've found. They are £200-£300 but I get them for much less in the sale.
You do you OP!

Heartofglass21 · 21/12/2018 17:59

@Kikidelivers

I bet you get a few muttered under breath comments along the lines of 'jesus wept, is she still wearing that ancient jumper?@

MirandaGoshawk · 21/12/2018 18:02

Sequins? Is it dry clean only? Nooooooo.and if you wash it the sequins will end up in the sea!

I think £118 is a stupid amount of money to spend on a present. My wedding dress didn't cost much more than that! But then I'm frugal. tight

Dreamscomingtrue · 21/12/2018 18:04

Research done recently by a University found that despite the opinion that budget clothes from Primark are badly made, they are actually often made of better material and wash & wear better than designer clothes. I bought a £12 kimono type jacket about 5 years ago that I wear all year round. It washes up great in the machine and needs no ironing. Looks as good as it did the year that I bought it.

viques · 21/12/2018 18:05

No, OP, not unreasonable, your money to spend as you like.

Mind you, were there an acronym on mumsnet called AIBFS [Am I being fucking stupid] then I guess you would be top of the tree.

Kahil · 21/12/2018 18:05

YANBU - it's your money and you can spend it how you please! Merry Christmas OP Xmas Smile

Frozenteatowel · 21/12/2018 18:06

If you can afford it I don’t see the problem. If the recipient would like it then go for it. I love th stripy one and if I wasn’t 58 with big norms I’d be tempted.

Kikidelivers · 21/12/2018 18:06

Frozenteatowel · 21/12/2018 18:06

Norks not norms 😀

Theunreasonableone · 21/12/2018 18:12

It looks itchy AF

Natstar98 · 21/12/2018 18:15

I'd love to have a friend rich enough to buy me that!! They'd get something homemade in return and lots of rainbow jumper hugs Grin

MibsXX · 21/12/2018 18:19

Same jumper here for a lot less

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 21/12/2018 18:27

I'm not saying Primark stuff washes incredibly well, but it lasts more than one wash. I have stuff from years ago that is still all right.

I think some people need to stop washing everything at 90° or whatever.
