As I am lost in an fog of confusion! So many cars! Which car do you drive? Would you recommend it? I have 4 dcs but the eldest is an adult at uni and two others are teens. Any suggestions?

Range Rover evoque.
Love it, drives itself and the easier car I've ever had to park (it does park itself but it's quicker not to use that.
Only does 38 to the gallon tho

Mercedes coupe. It has 4 doors, so the dc fit in the back. Speedy, and so not family 🤣

Doublechocolatetiffin · 17/12/2018 20:40

Tesla model X, absolutely love it and couldn’t imagine preferring any other car. 7 seats, tows 2,000kgs 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, fully electric and drives itself. What more could you want? Oh and it does a dance, has computer games and you can change the car into a santa’s sleigh on your dashboard and bells jingle when you indicate.

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 17/12/2018 20:41

Range Rover Velar - absolutely love it. Such an easy car to handle.
Plus, I'm only short so I like having the extra bit of height on the road, it makes me feel safer for some reason.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 17/12/2018 20:41

Karoq Edition. The rear seats are completely removable should you wish to. Massive 9.2 display screen, so satnav is easy to read, connectivity, heated seats and steering wheel, excellent lumbar support, high up and very comfortable.

PhannyMcNee · 17/12/2018 20:42

I want a car that turns into a sleigh!

motortroll · 17/12/2018 20:44

Volvo XC90. Very luxurious but very expensive! Lovely to drive but I used to have a Jeep Grand Cherokee...not as beautiful but a fab drive! The Volvo has 7 seats, the jeep 5.

Dontstepinthecowpat · 17/12/2018 20:44

Mercedes GL350, 4 kids, 2 in car seat and a big dog. I love it but it is huge and too high for lots of car parks!

BikeRunSki · 17/12/2018 20:47

Golf estate

Nit too big or small
TDi model is very efficient
DC are 10 and 7, plenty of room, can see there bring plenty of room fir many years to come

I have a brand new VW T-Roc and I fucking hate it. Sadly tied into a 4 year lease, don't even consider one!

anonymous06 · 17/12/2018 20:52

Mercedes GLA, 2 kids.. possibly another on the way!

Keeoe · 17/12/2018 20:55

Citroen C4 Cactus here. Only a 5 seater but is lovely and roomy with a great boot. 3 adults could get in the back seat no problems. I got mine nearly new for a song. I love it.

Time40 · 17/12/2018 21:00

21-year-old BMW 3 series. I can totally recommend it if you like beautiful cars that are a joy to drive. I can't recommend it if you want something practical and sensible, or something that doesn't keel over at the first flake of snow, or if you want to be able to see out when you're reversing, or if you want something that isn't total hell to park, or if you mind having a project that needs nursing.

lauryloo · 17/12/2018 21:06

We have a Skoda karoq as our main family car and I have a Skoda fabia. I love both of them.

A list price of under £100K is the first thing that springs to mind. Followed by an exciting engine noise.

SerenDippitty · 17/12/2018 21:11

Audi A3 TFSI. Love it. 30 quid road tax.

Craft1905 · 17/12/2018 21:11

Mercedes GLA, 2 kids.. possibly another on the way!

Two Mercedes GLAs??? That's a bit greedy.

MulberryPeony · 17/12/2018 21:12

Nissan Leaf here. Love it and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend for everyday commuting. Boot big enough to hold many bodies which may come in useful.

daphine2004 · 17/12/2018 21:13

1 DH and 3YO DS. BMW 1 series. Has for a year. Bought spur of the moment and whilst it’s great to drive and I like the gadgets on it, the leg room on the back isn’t great. If second baby comes along I’m not sure there would be room for a rearward facing car seat- my seat is quite far back. Boot is okay, but could be a bit bigger.

I did want XC60 but we also have a Mazda 6 estate and didn’t want two diesels. The BMW is petrol.

Mazda 6 is fine. Comfy, loads of space. Cheap to buy but I don’t feel it’s that economical.

We will swap in a few years and upgrade the big family car.

wink1970 · 17/12/2018 21:14

Range Rover (proper one not the posh spice one): it’s very thirsty (v8) but easy to drive and surprisingly easy to park. The electrics on Landys often play up but if new enough it’s a warranty job. The Velar is also ok but a bit small for me personally and the sport is for ‘Boyz’. You can’t go wrong with a full size Disco either.

I also recommend the Mazda CRv and any large Mercedes: the latter are often found on good monthly deals if you’re not a purchase outright person.

@mrsmalcolmreynolds I thought visibility would be terrible, but it’s actually great

Autumnchill · 17/12/2018 21:21

DS7, absolutely love it

Accountant222 · 17/12/2018 21:21

BMW X5 great car, bastard in tight car park

mysteryfairy · 17/12/2018 21:28

We have two early 20s DC and a teen and in addition to the cars we now drive day to day we have kept the 2013 7 seat VW touran we had when they were all at home. We use it for university and tip runs for which it’s great as with the two back seats down the boot is huge. Over Xmas we will actually have 7 adults in it in passable comfort when we go somewhere with the girlfriends of DS1 and 2 in tow.

Cath2907 · 17/12/2018 21:31

Honda CRV - handy for towing the caravan. Big, comfy and easy to drive. Or the Mini Cooper. Small, less easy drive but brilliant for parking outside school!
