Meanwhile there won't be enough money to pay for whiteboards for the majority

But plenty to provide extra sanitary bins and woke lessons for a tiny minority

Priorities!

ChristmasWrappingTheWaitresses · 16/12/2018 23:19

It's all such a nonsense that it will come to an end soon enough. I've not read any approval for any of this from normal people.

The twitterati seem to be a little bubble of their own madness and then everybody else in the world is just getting along with the biological reality of there being two sexes male and female.

AGHHHH · 16/12/2018 23:20

It's all such a nonsense that it will come to an end soon enough

Let's all ask Person Christmas for this to be the case!

ChristmasWrappingTheWaitresses · 16/12/2018 23:24

A Christmas wish.....

Reality will prevail I am confident. There's such madness going on with all this plastic surgery at the moment it can't end well and it will swing back again.

My friend who works for the NHS is panicking because they think that soon antibiotics will be useless and we won't be able to have any surgery done even life saving surgery so cosmetic surgery will not be on the list. You could die from any kind of surgery in the future if there are no antibiotics so it seems really foolish to get things done that might need to be re done in the future.

PickAChew · 16/12/2018 23:25

I did notice that the language in the actual article wasn't as frothogenic (yes, I made that up) as the headline. And David Davis comes across as an utter pillock.

FamilyOfAliens · 16/12/2018 23:27

The thing is, this is all advisory.

Sensible schools will ignore these toolkits, and will continue to teach primary school children science and facts.

HestiaParthenos · 16/12/2018 23:30

Let's all ask Person Christmas for this to be the case!

It took me quite a while to figure out what you mean. Can't we at least say Parent Christmas?

"The toolkit also recommends schools adopt a non-gendered uniform so all children feel included, and to reduce bullying."

So ordinary children without gender identity not wanting to be forced to wear a certain type of uniform because of their sex was not important enough to abolish gendered uniforms?
Just children with gender identities are important enough?

"He said: "Learning about periods is already a difficult subject for children that age, so to throw in the idea girls who believe they are boys also have periods will leave them completely confused.""

What does he mean? Girls, regardless of what they believe in their heads, will have periods. It is hardly a novel concept. Hmm
Sounds a bit like he is confused by all this weird use of language already. I can relate.

ChristmasWrappingTheWaitresses · 16/12/2018 23:33

I think in future they will just have to refer to males and females and just teach in biology that females have periods no matter how they identify proving really that it's irrelevant how you identify and it's all about biology at the end of the day.

orangesandlemmings · 16/12/2018 23:34

No not everyone is a parent and we need to be inclusive

"Person Xmas" pronoun: wanker

HestiaParthenos · 16/12/2018 23:35

You could die from any kind of surgery in the future if there are no antibiotics so it seems really foolish to get things done that might need to be re done in the future.

It is also foolish to take male hormones which will cause you to require surgery in the future.
Still, it is being done.

Really, it would be nice if all of this was just over on Christmas, but really, the worst already happened and people haven't reacted, I am not sure there's anything that could make the general public wake up.

seventhgonickname · 16/12/2018 23:38

The simple thing to do since the school will know is to give the individual child the information about what do do if they need sanpro products.Hiwever this information is not given to girls who just get on with it..
My dds friend is trans, there is no problem at school,he doesn't do boys sports and uses a single cubicle in the girls changing room. The thing is everyone knows the score so the school go with what he feels comfortable with and he chooses what works for everyone.
They all go to 6th form college next year where it will all get harder.Anouncements like this does not help,it makes it seem as if it has been thought about but leaves no room for discreet help.Dds friend wants to be accepted as a boy and how he deals with periods his own buisness not a public issue,a bit like girls do.

AGHHHH · 16/12/2018 23:41

, I am not sure there's anything that could make the general public wake up.

People are so hell bent on being woke and accepting (even if it means doing away with reasoning, facts and science) that you can't get through to them lest you be deemed transphobic and hateful. Scary.

Aeroflotgirl · 16/12/2018 23:43

Oh god, stop this stupidity now!

Aeroflotgirl · 16/12/2018 23:44

We all know that those who have periods however they identify are Female.

riotlady · 16/12/2018 23:47

I thought melodramatic reactions to trans issues is what the feminism board is for?

glueandstick · 16/12/2018 23:47

For fuck sake when will this end?

PositivelyPERF · 16/12/2018 23:48

and uses a single cubicle in the girls changing room.

Sorry, do you mean someone with a male body uses a cubicle in the girl’s changing room? I’m just not sure what sex they are. Do they then walk through the girls while they’re changing?

HestiaParthenos · 16/12/2018 23:51

Sorry, do you mean someone with a male body uses a cubicle in the girl’s changing room? I’m just not sure what sex they are. Do they then walk through the girls while they’re changing?

Since male pronouns are being used, I suppose the child in question is actually female and could just change with all the other female children, regardless of gender identity, seeing as they all have the same bodies.

RogerTheLodger · 16/12/2018 23:53

Why am I not surprised that this is Brighton & Hove council?

PositivelyPERF · 17/12/2018 00:15

Ah, that makes sense, HestiaParthenos. Thank you for clarifying, as it’s so fecking confusing nowadays, with the manipulation of language.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/12/2018 00:16

I'm sincerely hoping this council already has prioritised adequate measures for ensuring no female pupils miss school or suffer humiliation because of 'period poverty', if they've got money to put sanitary bins in the boys' loos.

knittedmouse · 17/12/2018 01:07

They need to be careful what they're teaching. If a transgirl with a penis decides to have sex how will she know how to prevent pregnancy in the person she's having sex with? She might believe that her lady sperm can't fertilise an egg.

Biology matters.

Cubrrt · 17/12/2018 01:27

Idk, I've seen posters on mumsnet who thought transmen/boys didn't have periods. Apparently some people need to be told that.

OkPedro · 17/12/2018 01:38

Obviously some trans boys and men have periods because they are still biologically female. HTH
