To be annoyed when DH sits on the sofa wrong?

I love DH but he always sits on the sofa wrong
He leans on the back cushions which is making them misshapen
He has offered to re-plump them after he uses the sofa but I think it's ruining the cushion
AIBU??

How can you sit on a sofa wrong? Aren’t cushions supposed to be leaned against?

More info needed. Surely you don't mean he has to sit bolt upright? How else does one avoid leaning on the back cushions?

My DH always sits wrong and he's ruining our new sofa. He doesn't offer to replump them though, so at least you've got that.

The correct way is of course to lie along the sofa, with your head on one end, and feet over the other end armrest.

Ideally having removed boots first.

My dh also sits on sofas wrong, he leans more on top of the back sofa cushion rather than against it. It’s ruined the cushion and it’s only a 2 year old sofa. It’s an annoyance, but nothing to get too worked up about. I’ve told when we’re looking to replace them he’s going to have his own armchair so the sofas don’t get ruined too quickly again.

My sofa is reeeeeally squashy and my DH always manages to squish the back cushions so they’re half the size (if not less!!!). Drives me bananas but I try to remember that sofas are for lounging on and not just looking nice!

Surely the whole idea of a sofa having a back (and hence cushions) is so that you can lean against it? Sell it and buy a bench - that way he has nothing to lean on and will probably be so uncomfortable that he'll leave home, thus saving unnatural wear and tear on the carpet too.

Have you thought about getting a crate in the kitchen for him?

Currently sat on my sofa with my feet up. Dog led out next to me taking up most of it. 2 cats led along top of sofa. DS sat on the arm. You would hate it here OP

Yes yabu but tbh if I bought a sofa and dp squished the cushions funny I'd tell him to piss off and sit on the floor too
