to wonder if a second referendum is a good idea?

The Sunday Times are running a headline that the PM's team are planning one. Part of me thinks it's a good idea, part of me thinks that the country has already voted and can't afford another referendum.

I feel no compulsion to be a sweetie pie with anyone who would throw away my future and the future of millions of people through their own stubborn, wilful ignorance. Please don't ever, ever, ever vote again. That's best for everyone, including yourself.

Pompous twat.

Mallorie · 17/12/2018 19:19

@greenpop21 you're a selfish, delusional fool.

greenpop21 · 17/12/2018 19:19

Lol

Moussemoose · 17/12/2018 19:20

So greenpop21 could you prove us all wrong and tell us why you wouldn't vote again?

Buteo · 17/12/2018 19:23

If they do, I will never vote again.

And did you always vote before? General elections, local elections, European elections?

BoneyBackJefferson · 17/12/2018 19:24

From the group that claims to be for democracy, but then this is the same group that after the referendum wanted people to be tested for the competence to vote. The hypocrisy is astounding.

The hypocrisy is astounding
Yes, it is. The hypocrisy that you treat all remainers as a hive mind - if I dare to do that to Leavers I get (rightly) jumped on!

Snog · 17/12/2018 19:33

Surely the last one was enough.

We can't be due another one for at least 20 years.

You have know idea how I voted, but knock yourself out if you think that I am talking about all remainers other than a group that spends their time being dicks.

greenpop21 · 17/12/2018 19:41

Interesting that you obvious remainers don't want a fellow remainer to vote again. Very interesting indeed. Some very narrow minded people on here who think all remainers would support a second referendum. As I said , pompous!

What a ridiculous thing to say!

No and I don't pretend to but I know what you wrote in your last post. Perhaps you should avoid sweeping generalizations if you don't want to be misunderstood.

BoneyBackJefferson · 17/12/2018 19:49

Perhaps you should avoid sweeping generalizations if you don't want to be misunderstood.

Perhaps you shouldn't be so touchy about want people post.

bellinisurge · 17/12/2018 19:51

Message from my arse @aconcertpianist , Faridge successfully shut down discussion of NI because he said it was "giving in to terrorists" to say that Brexit threatened GFA. And we are in a fucking mess because apparently it is news to people that GFA is something we need to be careful of. Faridge knew it was the Achilles heel in the Brexit argument.
You are doing exactly the same by telling us not to criticise Brexit and people who still Be Leave because some fuckwit right wingers will lure those people over to the dark side .
Arse on that.

BlimeyCalmDown · 17/12/2018 19:52

I want a 2nd vote

Mallorie · 17/12/2018 19:54

@Iatemygrandma she's the one who said she'd never vote again if there's a 2nd referendum, meaning that she'd rather the whole country be flushed down the toilet because of her childish mis-understanding of democracy rather to do the sensible, legal, moral thing which is to vote again now that we have more information (and now that we know how very likely it is that illegal foreign intervention and illegal spending swayed the outcome). So yes, if there is a second referendum, I fervently hope that she keeps her promise and DOESN'T vote ever again.

BoneyBackJefferson · 17/12/2018 19:58

bellinisurge

I say this honestly and as someone who does so regularly.

You moan, whinge, bitch ,whine, complain, protest and go on political marches as much as you can and I fervently hope that someone listens to you.

Because as someone that has been doing this for years, I hope that the powers that be listen to someone because they sure as hell haven't so far.

bellinisurge · 17/12/2018 20:01

@BoneyBackJefferson -never been on a political march in my entire long life. I don't want a second referendum because of the risk of No Deal being on it and idiots voting for it. I support Withdrawal Agreement because it stops No Deal.

Moussemoose · 17/12/2018 20:01

BoneyBackJefferson who seriously suggested people need to be tested before they vote? Seriously suggested it.

If we judge each campaign on the hyperbole of its most enthusiastic proponents we are all doomed. Do you want to be judged by the extremes of the leave camp?

Both sides of the issue support democracy. Obviously. However, the argument that another referendum is anti democratic is just silly.

You might not want another referendum and their are arguments on both sides but neither argument is anti democratic.

aconcertpianist · 17/12/2018 20:08

@bellinisurge

Thank you for the message "from your arse", although I reluctantly have to say I would have guessed its place of birth even if you hadn't clearly pinpointed it for me.

Who is Faridge? You mention him twice and I've googled him but can't find anything.

As an aside, I think your excitement-fucking this and fucking that- has made you incomprehensible, although I'm sure you mean well.

KennDodd · 17/12/2018 20:12

Stop making excuses for Leave voters and their far right tendencies. Nobody gets pushed into the arms of the far right because people supposedly don't listen to them, people walk there willingly because that's were there sympathies lie in the first place.

Mallorie · 17/12/2018 20:17

@KennDodd Star Star Star

Imissgmichael · 17/12/2018 20:20

Are you saying KenDodd that all leave voters have far right tendencies, because that’s how it sounds.

KennDodd · 17/12/2018 20:21

Top tip for the Leavers on here. If you don't want to do any research into what Brexit entails (understandable, it would take hundreds of hours) just have a look at the people/groups supporting Leave and ask yourself if they sound good and thats who you want to stand with.
I'll list some them for you -
Boris Johnson
EDL
UKIP
Nigel Farage
Putin
Jacob Rees-Mogg
DUP
BNP
Tommy Robinson
Britain First

BoneyBackJefferson · 17/12/2018 20:21

Moussemoose

I keep forgetting that posters wish to rewrite what was written in the early days post Brexit.

I am not against a second referendum, In the same way that I am happy for those that want to protest for it and those that don't want one to protest against it. It wouldn't bother me if they use the AV system that you propose and that I and others have for years been an advocate of.

I am concerned that the shit show that would run it would do so in the same self serving manner that they have done everything else so far.

And lets be honest here whatever happens, referendum, no referendum, leave, remain, may's deal, or no deal the majority of people in this country are fucked.
