to wonder if a second referendum is a good idea?

The Sunday Times are running a headline that the PM's team are planning one. Part of me thinks it's a good idea, part of me thinks that the country has already voted and can't afford another referendum.

They do include the self employed augusta, it was there in the data.

Ouch is that another Brexiter claim being shot down again?

Impact on wages was proved by the data posted by your own side.

Russiawithlove · 17/12/2018 13:28

surferjet I agree. Roll on 29 March...sick to death of the moaning. Suck it up and get over yourselves

surferjet · 17/12/2018 13:32

Oh god yes, some of them would literally fight to the death to remain in the EU.
It’s really weird.

BorisBogtrotter · 17/12/2018 13:33

Hypocrites.

Your side whinged for 41 years.

Apparently you are all for democracy, well dissent, critique and protest are all important parts of it.

borntobequiet · 17/12/2018 13:38

Oh god yes, some of them would literally fight to the death to remain in the EU.
What an extraordinary remark.

surferjet · 17/12/2018 13:40

We whinged because we’d never been asked if we wanted to join the EU in its current form.
The last vote was decades ago & the EU was completely different then.
So, we were given a vote on the current arrangement & leave won.
If you want to carry on whinging for another 40 years until the next referendum then go ahead - not that they’ll be an EU in 40 years.

BorisBogtrotter · 17/12/2018 13:46

But no, you whinged before that, there was a movement that started right after the first referendum.

You didn't have to be asked if we were to join the EU in its current form ( although the single market is a British creation) we don't live in a plebiscite. You elected representatives who voted that we should join in its current form, repeatedly, until after 2010 the EU was a minor issue for the electorate.

surferjet · 17/12/2018 13:52

Our elected representatives gave us a referendum - leave won.

Buteo · 17/12/2018 13:53

Yes they do include self employed.

They don’t

I must have imagined this paragraph then:

41% of those working in construction were self-employed between 2014 and 2016; EU8 (63%) and EU2 nationals (66%) in the construction industry are more likely to be self-employed compared to all other nationalities (39%).

Angeladelight · 17/12/2018 13:54

No. I’m a remainer and I really dread to think the uproar that would happen if we had a second referendum with a remain option and remain won. It’s already divisive as it is, it’s just adding more fuel to the fire.

Vickster99 · 17/12/2018 14:02

Absolutely. Its the only way out of this deadlock.
Yes, there might be uproar from leavers if remain won but I'd rather put up with that than shortages and years of economic downturn and poverty brought on by no deal.

Russiawithlove · 17/12/2018 14:07

And if leave win again...will you accept It?
No you won't because remainders want it their way or nothing.

BorisBogtrotter · 17/12/2018 14:08

"No you won't because remainders want it their way or nothing."

No its called a democracy darling, we can critique, dissent, protest and demand change all we like.

Suck it up buttercup.

Russiawithlove · 17/12/2018 14:13

Well I just hopethe democratic leave vote will be enforced.
There is no time for a second vote.

Time ran out. Dry your tears and have a very Merry Christmas

BorisBogtrotter · 17/12/2018 14:17

May's deal meets the requirements of the leave vote.

It means we leave the EU.

bellinisurge · 17/12/2018 14:18

Shit @Russiawithlove , haven't you twigged yet. It's about avoiding No Deal.
Voted Remain, will accept anything Leave that isn't No Deal.
Please keep up.

surferjet · 17/12/2018 14:19

No its called a democracy darling, we can critique, dissent, protest and demand change all we like

Exactly - so if you win we’ll demand a 3rd referendum - ok with that buttercup?

bellinisurge · 17/12/2018 14:21

@surferjet - are you for No Deal? That's the only thing that matters now - avoid No Deal. Baiting each other is fucking point less.

BorisBogtrotter · 17/12/2018 14:21

You can demand that if you like.

You did for 41 years after the last one, sweetie pie.

Look what a good job you are making of the objective of a lifetime, I mean, when you demand something for that long its probably a good idea to work out how you would go about it.

Russiawithlove · 17/12/2018 14:22

As long as we leave I quite frankly don't care now if it's deal or no bloody deal.

As i contributed on the first pages of this thread...people need to stop being so hysterical.
Whatever happens I will adapt my lifestyle accordingly, for better or worse.

surferjet · 17/12/2018 14:24

Sweetie pie?
Suck it up buttercup?

Why are you talking like someone from a 1950’s American cartoon?

BorisBogtrotter · 17/12/2018 14:25

"People need to stop being so hysterical"

Then why did we need a 2nd referendum on the issue?

Oh that's right because people were hysterical about the impact of immigration and the EU, completely based on prejudice and misinformation.

Russiawithlove · 17/12/2018 14:31

We don't NEED a second referendum.

wondering1101 · 17/12/2018 14:32

Whatever happens I will adapt my lifestyle accordingly, for better or worse.

Not everyone will have the means to do that.

bellinisurge · 17/12/2018 14:32

@Russiawithlove you really seem to have no idea how fucked up your "lifestyle " is going to be if we leave with no deal.
