To ask if you look like shit?

No matter how much I mosturise, sleep, drink water, eat healthy(ish), remove my make up before bed, exfoliate, exercise etc etc etc ... all the usual stuff you're told to do I always look like shit. I'm due on my period next week so it's only going to get worse so my high hopes of looking all refreshed over Christmas are down the drain.

Does anyone else feel like this?

So, can we all build a community so we all look equally shit please?
No being shown up by beautiful creatures with glossy hair, smooth skin and looking well rested please!

Yeah, I certainly do look like shit.

It's been a tough year - emotionally, physically, financially.

I haven't had my hair cut for over a year and it's a frizzy, dry, broken mess of a bird's nest.

I'm up around 2 stone also. My skin is spotty but also dry and cracked.

I'm hiding at home today, and possibly searching for videos on YouTube on how to cut your own hair.

You're definitely not alone in feeling this way OP.

Strokethefurrywall, you are so right that how we feel about ourselves does shine through. However, not many people can see a Quasimodo in the mirror and think ‘wow I am irresistible’. Normally it drags us down to see a shapeless lump where a beautiful hourglass figure used to be, a face that is melting etc. Now if you could somehow see all that and be convinced that you are the bees knees, I am sure you could have the world at your feet! The attitude is what matters. It’s just feeling it, that’s the problem.

I feel totally different since I lost 2.5 stone. I see a different reflection, i actually like how my clothes fit me, my facial features look different, the eyes seem bigger, the outline of my jaw. This has lifted my spirits no end. I feel younger and happier.

When I was big, does not matter what effort I made with clothes or make up, I still felt like sh&@. I couldn’t trick myself into thinking ‘I am fabulous and look what my body has done’. Sadly, it doesn’t always work. I had to physically lose the weight and change my shape with exercise to start loving myself again. Sounds bad, but it’s true.

"I got to the point where I don't care anymore. "

Same here.

I probably do look like shit to some people-but they aren't people whose opinion I give any fucks about whatsoever.

"I always wear a full face of make up and do my hair every day though, if that makes any difference."

If you look overly done up you might just look a different kind of shit Grin

I don't look like these ridiculous insta/youtube/towie type people.

I use moisturiser, foundation, benetint on cheeks & lips, a neutral gold eyeshadow, liquid eyeliner, fill my eyebrows in with powder and then apply mascara. It's not OTT at all.

It all makes sense now Grin

Even with all the excess food and alcohol in the last few weeks I suddenly look much better.

I have been off work. Work makes me look like shit. The early starts, the commute, the stress.

Goes off to buy lottery ticket.

Yes, always. However I'm old and therefore invisible so nobody notices.
