Many people and organisations use these words interchangerbly. The meaning is always clear. I actually don't give a stuff if others disagree.

What's to prove.

You cant change sex.

Gileswithachainsaw · 14/12/2018 21:32

Sexes are different

Men arent women

They don't belong in female only spaces

Helmetbymidnight · 14/12/2018 21:35

The ‘only’ thing women share is biology? Grin
Biology is massive- so yes we share bodies/our reproductive systems and our oppression which is based on our bodies, and our position in society.

The question is what is the ‘something’ we have in common with trans woman? Is it a secret? Is it the silly essence?

Ereshkigal · 14/12/2018 21:36

Where is your evidence for all that you say?

Er, we're talking about female infanticide and there is plenty of evidence.

Let's see yours.

Helmetbymidnight · 14/12/2018 21:38

When are you going to concede that women have something in common with trans women that they don't have in common with men

Why not name the something? It can’t be difficult, can it? It must be obvious to you.

Weetabixandshreddies · 14/12/2018 21:38

Er, we're talking about female infanticide and there is plenty of evidence.

No. You were talking about boys acting like girls not being killed whilst girls acting like boys are. That isn't infanticide.

So let's see your evidence.

Ereshkigal · 14/12/2018 21:40

No. You were talking about boys acting like girls not being killed whilst girls acting like boys are. That isn't infanticide.

They're fucking newborns. They're not "acting like boys", love.

Yes but depending on the individual women, the shared biology may not give them much in common.

So in some cases a natal woman might have more in common with a trans woman than other natal women? Otherwise you're just boiling the experience of being human down to genitals.

A man and a woman with a complex medical problem might have more in common than that same woman has with a healthy woman for example?

I just don't share your view of all women having more in common with each other than with men.

I don't relate to people in that way. I have more in common with some people than with others.

Helmetbymidnight · 14/12/2018 21:47

What is the something women have in common with transwomen that we don’t have in common with men?

Helmetbymidnight · 14/12/2018 21:48

Do you have an idea what the something is?

Ereshkigal · 14/12/2018 21:49

I just don't share your view of all women having more in common with each other than with men.

Do you understand how classifications work?

Gileswithachainsaw · 14/12/2018 21:50

But we don't segregate people because they like cheese and Grey's anatomy.

They are segregated by sex

Whether they share your love of pugs and coconut jelly beans is irrelevant . The one thing you can be sure of is that you share biology with all other women.

Toilet doors aren't labelled eastenders and Hollyoaks are they

Weetabixandshreddies · 14/12/2018 21:50

Firstly, I'm not your love and what a misogynistic turn of phrase.

Secondly, it wasn't me who said it. It was
Gileswithachainsaw. I was commenting on what they said.

Gileswithachainsaw · 14/12/2018 21:51

The point is girls cannot identify out of all that happens to them Ever.

Ereshkigal · 14/12/2018 21:55

You didn't have a clue what you were talking about or what female infanticide is but still you blundered in to defend male people. You're the misogynistic one, not me.

Ereshkigal · 14/12/2018 21:56

Giles meant that no one gave a fuck what internal man essence the baby girls may have had when they murdered them.

Weetabixandshreddies · 14/12/2018 21:56

What is the something women have in common with transwomen that we don’t have in common with men?

Well plenty. They both possess brains, eyes, ears, arms, legs, hearts, lungs, kidneys, livers, spleens, knees, skin... So why is common experience limited to only specific body parts? That's without thinking about lots of other experiences that human beings could have in common.

I might have been born with the same reproductive organs as another female but that could be the only thing in common that we have. Our experiences of having those organs aren't even necessarily the same so why is simply possessing them more important than any other experiences that we might share with other people?

Ereshkigal · 14/12/2018 21:58

That's not actually an answer, it's a derail.

Weetabixandshreddies · 14/12/2018 21:58

You didn't have a clue what you were talking about or what female infanticide is but still you blundered in to defend male people. You're the misogynistic one, not me.

Really? I'm not the one resorting to misogynistic put downs meant to belittle women am I?

Ereshkigal · 14/12/2018 21:58

Answer the question.

Weetabixandshreddies · 14/12/2018 22:00

But we don't segregate people because they like cheese and Grey's anatomy.
And the question wasn't to do on what basis do we segregate toilets.

It was

What is the something women have in common with transwomen that we don’t have in common with men?

Ereshkigal · 14/12/2018 22:00

It was directed at you, not women. I'm happy to say it to a man.

GenderIsAPrison · 14/12/2018 22:01

Yabvu

And I think you know it and know why already.

Helmetbymidnight · 14/12/2018 22:01

What is the something women have in common with transwomen that we don’t have in common with men?

Brains, eyes, ears, arms, legs etc

Have you ever met a man before? They tend to have these too.

What is the something women have in common with transwomen that we don’t have in common with men?

Are you not understanding the question?

Weetabixandshreddies · 14/12/2018 22:02
