How often do u shower/bath

Bigonesmallone3 · 03/12/2018 14:49

My DP showers everyday, I aim to shower/bath everyday but being a pregnant, working mum of two I skip the odd day through bloody exhaustion..
I was inspired by another thread about how often people wash there hair and it got me thinking..
So how often do u wash?..

I have a shower every other day because my skin gets very dry because of my age and the fact that I diabetic. I do wash bits and pits on the other days.

90mammasophie · 03/12/2018 19:14

Every morning I take a quick shower. Just a couple of mins to freshen up. And then every other evening I take a long shower or bath and wash hair. My kid gets bathed every day without fail. You can always tell when adults don't shower in the morning, they smell a little musty.

OohBabyBabeh · 03/12/2018 19:16

Everyday, used to be in the evening after work but now on maternity leave it is just whenever in the day I can get in there! wash hair every 3-4 days (very damaged from bleach job so its actually better for it to give it a longer break!)

FormerlyFrikadela01 · 03/12/2018 19:25

I try to have a bath or shower every evening. I wash my hair about twice per week, it rarely gets greasy.

I get a strip wash on a morning becasue I'm usually up for work at 0500 and a shower inevitably wakes up ds who then won't go back to sleep.

Bacciferous · 03/12/2018 19:31

Quick shower every morning. Wash my hair every 4 days

SerenDippitty · 03/12/2018 19:39

Shower every morning. Used to have a bath every morning but there’s something wrong with my knees at the mo and I can’t bend them to sit down in the bath. Wash hair once a week.

Ubertasha2 · 03/12/2018 20:34

Shower and hair wash every 3 days. Couldn’t be arsed to do it every day, unless it were the summer/I’d got v sweaty. Some people are either very smelly and need to wash all the time or are obsessed!

Oh, and I don’t own a deodorant either. But I don’t smoke, don’t go to the gym (although I probably should), and have blunt friends and family that’d tell me if I honked.

Ubertasha2 · 03/12/2018 20:35
  • every 2 days, not 3 days!
RedWineIsFabulous · 03/12/2018 20:37

Daily. Without fail- everyone in this house.
D.C. morning shower and fresh uniforms on and another shower when they get in from school.

theonlyKevin · 03/12/2018 20:44

I shower when I need to, who's counting!

I always shower before bed, because i don't like the feeling of being dirty before going into my clean bed.
I shower after exercising, or when I feel like I smell. I also shower when I am cold, and sometimes when a lot of work to do and I need to wake up.

So sometimes 1, sometimes 3, rarely 4 times a day if I need to. I find it quicker to have a quick shower than washing bits at the bathroom sink. I am always amazed that people are so lacking confidence that they need to reassure themselves they are showering the right amount of times.

Mother40 · 03/12/2018 20:44

Every day, apart from rare occasion am very tired and it's not been hot. Those who shower or bathe twice a day, however, do you not realise this is bad for the skin as it dries it out and strips it of essential oils.

houseofhungryboys · 03/12/2018 21:41

Shower every morning, takes me longer to just do pits n bits at the sink
Wash hair every 3rd day in the evening - more frequently in hot weather

Bluemascara4 · 03/12/2018 21:48

I shower every morning and wash my hair most days .

ShotsFired · 03/12/2018 22:01

If I'm going into work then every day.
But wfh a lot and I can get lazy.

Last week I didn't shower from Weds morning to Friday night after a gym class (or it may have lasted longer!). All I was doing was working at my desk at home though, hardly ploughing manure covered fields.

Brushed my teeth and washed my face in between, so

JaceLancs · 03/12/2018 22:04

Shower 5 out of 7 days on average only miss when I’m really tired
Only wash my hair once or twice a week though
It’s dry and wavy/frizzy so better if left alone

SheHasNotions · 03/12/2018 22:08

Shower every morning. I’m not a morning person and I can’t wake up properly unless I freshen up with a nice hot shower.

Shower most nights before bed, too, or might have a bath a couple of evenings a week instead. Helps me relax.

Wash my hair every other day. I’d love to reduce this as it’s a faff, but I get greasy roots if I leave it any longer.

E20mom · 03/12/2018 22:09

Every morning as a minimum and sometimes evenings too.,

VictoriaBun · 03/12/2018 22:09

Once a month - regardless of if I need one !

Notcontent · 03/12/2018 22:12

I think this is perhaps determined by what habits we grew up with.

CandyCreeper · 03/12/2018 22:13

Everyday.

anniehm · 03/12/2018 22:16

Most days but our house is freezing so sometimes I just wear a hat to work (I can wear whatever I like)

ifyoulikepinacolada · 03/12/2018 22:18

Every day and I wash my hair every day too... but then I exercise for at least an hour each day and have a very very active job so I’d be rank if I didn’t!

Asthenia · 03/12/2018 22:53

See for me it’s not so much necessity as I don’t need to wash every day (sedentary job etc) - it’s the psychological side of it. A shower wakes me up in the morning and makes me feel fresh. On hot, sweaty days I feel cleaner and more relaxed if I have one in the evening after work, having been around other sweaty people all day and on public transport. I feel fresher, cleaner and more presentable, but that’s just me personally.

Drogosnextwife · 03/12/2018 22:55

Bath every night. I hate feeling sweaty/sticky in bed, I have quite an energetic job.

AmyDowdensLeftLeftShoe · 03/12/2018 22:59

I try to limit my showers to once a day. I have skin issues so was advised to shower every day but only once a day. It is difficult when I do exercise so I try to exercise only in the morning.

I have acquaintances with worse skin issues so they shower every 2-3 days, and like me they don't take baths.
