How often do u shower/bath

Bigonesmallone3 · 03/12/2018 14:49

My DP showers everyday, I aim to shower/bath everyday but being a pregnant, working mum of two I skip the odd day through bloody exhaustion..
I was inspired by another thread about how often people wash there hair and it got me thinking..
So how often do u wash?..

Every day, bar the very (very!) occasional lazy Sunday where I might not if I’m definitely not seeing anyone or leaving the house.

GimmeGimmeHellYeah · 03/12/2018 16:19

Three times a week is probably about average for me.

Avis7 · 03/12/2018 16:21

Every other day when it's cold, every day when it's hot. If I shower every day in winter my skin is unbearably dry, and I haven't yet met the moisturiser that could help. A cool shower when you're hot and a hot bath when you're cold are two of life's greatest pleasures.

Storm4star · 03/12/2018 16:32

I'm going to stick my neck out here and be honest. When I was working in an office, I was showering daily. I wouldn't go to work without a shower. But...since working from home I'll admit I've let it slide a bit. I do wash/brush teeth etc. But actual shower or bath, about 3 times a week now. I'm not doing anything much in the way of exercise right now so I don't get excessively sweaty (although I do need to start doing some!). I don't have a partner or any unexpected visitors so I'm not offending anyone! So I'll admit I've become lazy about it. I can't remember the last time I put any make up on either!

DerfelCadarn · 03/12/2018 16:56

Shower every morning (or the evening before if I know I'll have an early start), wash hair every other day.

Bath about once a week - for luxury me time, not cleanliness!

DD2 has a bath every other night

costacoffeecup · 03/12/2018 16:57

@Bigonesmallone3 lucky you! I'm a sweaty mess but I am 32 weeks so to be expected I guess.

loveyoutothemoon · 03/12/2018 17:00

If you don't wash every day but are capable and can afford the heating of the water, that's just gross!

Bigonesmallone3 · 03/12/2018 17:02

@costacoffeecup
Yes, to be expected.. I'm only 12 weeks so I'm not at that stage yet...

I shower twice a day (before work and after gym). Hair gets washed every other day, unless I've had a particularly sweaty session in the gym.

costacoffeecup · 03/12/2018 17:08

I only wash my hair twice a week though, it's so much nicer now I do that.

Peachydream · 03/12/2018 17:08

Shower & hair wash everyday after the gym or a run, go 4/5 times a week. May miss a day here and there over the weekend but will always have a wash.

I'm careful about using too much shower gel/soap as it can make my skin very dry & itchy.

Luxury soak in the bath roughly once every other week.

Ditto66 · 03/12/2018 17:10

2-3 times a week. Sink wash of pits and bits every morning. I used to shower daily, but our shower has been broken for a while and I've realised it's unnecessary to shower so often.

RoseMartha · 03/12/2018 17:11

Strip wash in sink daily. Bath/ hair wash x3 a week. Shower sometimes instead of bath . When we had heatwave was bathing/shower in evening and strip washing in morning.

Strip washing at sink was something i grew up doing. Having a morning shower would upset some member of household, so strip washing is better for me.

BlueJava · 03/12/2018 17:13

At least once a day - first thing in the morning. Sometimes I have a bath at night as well.

gamerchick · 03/12/2018 17:16

Meh, when it's time to scrape off the crusty bits. Gotta soften them up first.

clowdyweewee · 03/12/2018 17:17

Shower every morning and wash my hair every other day. I give it a quick blast with the hairdryer and that's it.

BatF1nk · 03/12/2018 17:17

@mostdays how on earth can you let your 12 year old go over a week without a bath or shower? That is utterly disgusting and borders on neglect - unless you're going to reveal a drip feed that he was away camping or something

costacoffeecup · 03/12/2018 17:19

@Bigonesmallone3 ah, enjoy it while you can then. In the first 12 weeks I was washing off sick every day!

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 03/12/2018 17:19

Every day when going out.

If I’m vegging at home at the weekend I quite often don’t shower. I’m a lazy minger.

WhyDontYouComeOnOver · 03/12/2018 17:21

Twice a week, maybe three if I can. Disabilities makes it painful. Can guarantee I don't smell - I have a very honest DH, parents and DC who would be the first to tell me, as would friends. I can't believe people bathe twice daily or more unless they've been exercising or have a dirty job. What a waste of water.

harrypotterfan1604 · 03/12/2018 17:25

Pre pregnancy I showered every other day not a sweaty person at all and washed hair twice a week perhaps mainly because it takes so long to style after being washed and is in much better condition now I don’t wash it daily like when I was a teen. I’m not heavily pregnant and need to shower every morning or I feel gross, I’m so hot all the time. Still don’t wash my hair every time though

RavenLG · 03/12/2018 17:26

Every day. Wash hair every other day (well try to, it’s thin and greasy all the time despite how long I leave in between). I feel disgusting if I don’t shower before work. I sometimes have a grotty day if I’m not leaving the house.

Arrowfanatic · 03/12/2018 17:32

Varies, in hot sticky summer I'd shower every day. Sometimes twice a day.

Now it's around 3-4 times a week. Always shower after the gym. Weekends I tend to skip Saturday unless going out and shower Sunday evening.

Kids (9, 7 & 6) bathed once a week on a Sunday and washed every morning. Although my 9 year old is starting to get a bit more hormonal so she's going to have to start showering every 2-3 days.

Fooferella · 03/12/2018 18:20

Feral family here againn. Ditto66 I'm with you in realising we don't need to shower so often. I DO however wash daily. Face, pits and bits at the very least. My DS is 8 and gets face and bits too if he doesn't shower. DH does a super sweaty sport so he'll shower twice a day sometimes. But on the weekend when we're just us in the house there just doesn't seem much point tbh.Shock

Oneinthegrave · 03/12/2018 18:23

Shower every morning dont feel awake til i have, then every 2-3 nights have a bath as its my only time / place to properly chill out. What a waste of water
