This year my heart was broken by Toys "R" Us closing, just wondered what other shops that have closed do you miss?
This year we've had maplins, BHS I believe was this year, Mothercare will all be gone by next year summer too.
As a teen I used to love Bay Trading, and a shop called Tammy Girl.

Ravel
C&A
Woolworths
Chelsea Girl

IDrinkAndISewThings · 03/12/2018 07:47

@Sitranced OMG yes, Fopp! I loved Fopp! Absolute bargain books and CDs, many a happy hour between lectures was spent browsing in there. I remember picking up Chris Brookmyre novels amongst others for about £3 and wondering why anyone bothered to buy magazines like Cosmopolitan for the same/more money when they could get an awesome book for less!

Holidayshopping · 03/12/2018 07:49

How is Claire's Accessories still going???

I think it might be entirely propped up by a group of girls in DD’s class Grin.

SnuggyBuggy · 03/12/2018 07:54

I've loved Claire's when I was the target age. Does anyone remember the goody bags?

BeanBagLady · 03/12/2018 08:18

Adams were the best for kids clothes when Dc were small. Great designs, natural fibres, very good prices.

Woolworths

Belfast Linen
Was there ever a time they didn’t have a sale on?
Can’t get linen tea towels like they had anymore.

crochetmonkey74 · 03/12/2018 09:31

Woolworths and BHS Christmas department in the first few years they did it- it was magical !

foxtiger · 03/12/2018 09:39

I wouldn't say I desperately miss it but BHS was the main one for me. It was just so useful for basics - affordable bras, swimsuits, blazers for the DC when they were at school, nice jeans that fitted well.

Bean I used to like Adams too, but my kids had outgrown it by the time it disappeared.

Rattinghat · 03/12/2018 10:35

Habitat still exists. I went in one last week.

Fluffyunicorns · 03/12/2018 10:39

East - all my clothes are now wearing out and I can't replace them!

BikeRunSki · 03/12/2018 10:46

I loved Adam's - I only discovered them the day they closed down (DS was 17 months), but I bought loads at massive reductions, which lasted him a couple of years.

LoniceraJaponica · 03/12/2018 10:57

I used to buy loads of clothes for DD at Adams. It didn't just sell pink clothes for girls.

nicslackey · 03/12/2018 11:20

Wimpy
Woodsides
Woolies
BHS for bedding, lighting and slippers. Bought 6 pairs when they were closing and am wearing my last pair!

I loved Adams. Nice clothes for boys.

BlackeyedGruesome · 03/12/2018 11:32

gateway

woolies.

comet.

Peregrina · 03/12/2018 11:36

Why is it, when we all loved Woolies that it went and closed?
Mine you , we do have a discount shop locally which sells quite a few things which Woolies sold, but not all.

Woolies were good for knickers, socks and tights I found. At one time they also did a good own brand of paint.

woollyheart · 03/12/2018 11:39

I had some lovely presents from Past Times.

And still mourn Woolworths - but probably the Woolworths from when I had a Saturday job there than the more recent version.

QuickBugQn · 03/12/2018 11:46

HMV, Kookai, Revel, Dune are still around

Floofboopborkandsnoot · 03/12/2018 11:49

I miss C& A and BHS. I will probably go into C&A when I'm in Amsterdam and Bruges next year. I never liked Woolworths at all.

ButchyRestingFace · 03/12/2018 12:05

The ghost of Woolworths lives on 👻 (sorta) in Wilkos.

crochetmonkey74 · 03/12/2018 12:25

But there's nowhere now to get the amazing pic n mix- especially at Christmas when you could fill your own tin...
