David Beckham. He looks like he should be working on the dodgems at the local fair

Tom Hardy. So average!

Christmas dinner. Bland meat, smelly veg and only ever so slightly redeemed by pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce.

Restaurants that serve me food on something that's not a plate. I once had a chickens and leek pie in a mess tin FFS.

Camping. Trips away and holidays are supposed to be enjoyable, what is fun about sweeping bugs out your home in a morning and freezing half to death on a night

Anyone over the age of 13 on Instagram
Why? The guidelines are you should be at least 13 to use it

FunkyKingston · 30/11/2018 08:27

Tapas. It's shit. I hate sharing food. Just serve a proper adult meal. Can't stand it

I agree, especially as a vegetarian they're a fucking nightmare. Two thirds of the dishes are off limits andvthe meat eaters wire into the veggie dishes too. Twenty wuid amd you've had a tiny portion of potatas bravas

ChocolateTearDrops · 30/11/2018 08:38

@AlbaChick

Twee programmes showing lovely, caring, happy families singing and holding hands around the Christmas tree/piano/table. Ours is more like Beirut meets Syria halfway through Christmad dinner

Grin love this! So true (even if film makers like to show a schmaltzy representation of extended family meeting up at Christmas!)

derxa · 30/11/2018 09:02

The 1990's version (and equally heinous) was 'Movin on Up by M-People...I shared a student house with a girl who was constantly breaking up with various blokes and every time without fail she'd listen to M-People really loudly to 'empower' herself..! Grin

HollyWollyDooDah · 30/11/2018 09:42

Mrs Hinch / hincharmy

What even is it??

LadyRochfordsSpikedGusset · 30/11/2018 09:51

The cocaine one Peeved 😂.

I feel I have to defend Tapas though, it sustained me living abroad for quite a bit but tbf I'm a nibbler/grazer, and would probably drive Tapas-haters mad.

DarlingNikita · 30/11/2018 10:51

Family Christmases for me used to be more like Pinter plays.

That's basically why I don't do them any more.

scaredandindebt · 30/11/2018 10:52

the inbetweeners 😦😦
It's hilarious!!!!

LadyRochfordsSpikedGusset · 30/11/2018 10:55

Lots of pauses Darling? :)

DarlingNikita · 30/11/2018 10:59

LadyRochfords, yes. Brooding silences and an undercurrent of resentment/hostility/violence.

RedRoseReb · 30/11/2018 11:03

Team sports.

Watching adults playing Football.

Talking about adults playing Football.

I like kids playing though!

LadyRochfordsSpikedGusset · 30/11/2018 11:05

Sorry for that, it's more common than people let on.

FunkyKingston · 30/11/2018 11:05

I always imagine M:People's Search for the hero being played by a regional sales manager during a team meeting to 'motivate' their team into selling more photocopier toner or something

DavetheCat2001 · 30/11/2018 11:17

Heather Smalls from M-People sounded like Kermit the Frog too. 😬

Not empowering girls!🤪

MissMarplesKnitting · 30/11/2018 11:30

Elaborate gin and tonics. Just stick to classic please.
Expensive cars
Designer clothing
Prosecco
Flavoured fancy coffees. Bleurgh.
Star Wars. Don't get it. Don't understand why, it's probably just me.
Pandora jewellery. Expensive for what it is, and just no my thing at all. Don't get why it's so popular.
Mrs Hinch.
Slug eyebrows. Again, not sure how the grow trends make people look better when it's painted on black slugs.
Really high heels.

DarlingNikita · 30/11/2018 11:50

LadyRochfords, thank you; yes, I comfort myself by thinking that I am not unique!

ComeOnComeOnComeOnGetThroughIt · 30/11/2018 13:08

I've just looked Mrs Hinch up on Instagram as I hadn't heard of her and I'm STAGGERED that neatly a million and a half people follow her. Is there a funny filter on it or does her house really look like that?
So yes- add Mrs Hinch to the list!

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 30/11/2018 13:18

I suspect not all of those are genuine followers, comeoncomeon. There are dodgy accounts that will allow you to buy IG followers to up your profile and make you more visible on the IG algorithm. She’s now represented by Gleam Confused.

I think her house is that monochromatic. It isn’t to my taste either, it’s a strange mix of clinical and tacky. I’m not her target demographic.

TheDarkPassenger · 30/11/2018 13:31

Oooooooh I agree with the mrs hinch thing actually!

Herself and I are extremely different people

KellyanneConway · 30/11/2018 13:36

I was going to say David Beckham before I opened the thread! Also, Take That. Bunch of untalented Tory wet lettuces. Never liked any of them or their shitty songs.

Designer handbags - my friend spend an unbelievable £950 on a fucking handbag! You can get really nice, similar ones from TK Maxx for £50.

Seafoodeatit · 30/11/2018 13:40

I've been reading this and saying yes to most of the things listed. It makes me feel like a cynical asshole, sometimes I think I must come across as a unlikable twat because I don't like anything. Small talk is hard enough with social anxiety, there's only so much small talk you can make on the weather with your in-laws. I like these threads, they remind me I'm not the only one who doesn't like this stuff, it feels like a lot of my family do and I'm the odd one out.

morningconstitutional2017 · 30/11/2018 13:48

James Bond
Star Trek
Star Wars
Harry Potter
New Years Eve

The80sweregreat · 30/11/2018 13:49

Most cult films and Tv have passed me by over the years - never seen a Star wars film or watched Game of Thrones or a 'scandi' drama.
Lord of the rings music is enough to put me off ( seen about five mins of film one)
People do think i am a bit odd ( especially as i was only 12 when the first star wars film came out!) Its a kind of religion for some people.

FunkyKingston · 30/11/2018 13:52

never seen a Star wars film or watched Game of Thrones

Neither have I.

Given that i am a man in his late 30s who lives alone, i must be a statistical anomaly.

Thesnobbymiddleclassone · 30/11/2018 13:53

I've kept on reading this and it just makes me think of more and more!

Love Island (I just don't get the point)
The Walking Dead
X Factor
Mrs Hinch
Unboxing videos
Fake glasses (as an accessory to an outfit)
