there is a power cut while im having something done and im halfway through it e.g like a hair colour.

im asking because Storm Diana is imminent and i have an appointment booked this week.

Back in Jan there was a power cut the day after a storm on the day of my appointment but at that time they hadnt started my treatment yet.

power cuts round here seem to be getting pretty common now

i dont really want to be sent home to wash the dye out myself if this happens because i have long hair and would end up with dye all over my clothes and coat.

has anyone experienced anything like this?

"Took DS to the barber last week and they had a power cut for third day in a row, most of the high street was affected"

I’m dying with laughter here. If that was my only problem 😂

HelenaDove · 27/11/2018 19:32

im a full time carer of someone with COPD so its not my only problem either.

this is the one treat i have. i dont go on weekend city breaks or buy expensive perfumes.

Where do I stand legally if I’m stood in the queue at Tescos and a rabbit trips me over and breaks my eggs?

beanaseireann · 27/11/2018 19:50

My hairdressers water system failed. They made do with kettles and water from the cafe next door. It's a chain of hairdressers, mid to high price.
I survived.

Cadsuane · 27/11/2018 19:51

It happened to me, except I was just getting my hair cut. It was the poor person getting a perm that was causing the hairdresser to panic. I don't think it helped he was only about 20 and was on his own when the workers outside cut the power line. If I remember (cause it was nearly 30 years ago) he used warm water from the tea urn to rinse the solution out. Obviously he couldn't dry or style her hair but he didn't charge her and made her an appointment to come back later in the week and said he would't charge her for that either.
I also used to live near a hospital (I haven't moved but the local hospital is now a housing estate). There was an emergency power line to the hospital. If there was a small, local power cut the hospital still got power. My house and the house across the road, the house behind them an the house beyond that were all on this emergency line for some reason. So four houses in a line that were still lit when everything else was dark. There were very few occasions when we lost power.

if you are seeimg rabbits while out shopping you should perhaps cut down in whatever you are partaking in that causes these hallucinations

And change your user name to Father Jack Grin

Ouch! OP "unhappy with motherhood so has to come on here to take it out on someone" alert. And wine o'clock is it?

SoniaShoe · 27/11/2018 19:58

I LEGALLY DEMAND YOU WASH MY HAIR! 😆

RainbowTurd · 27/11/2018 20:33

I have no words 😶🤣🤣

HelenaDove · 27/11/2018 20:48

Dont worry I have plenty of words i use them a lot to support people on here who are mothers despite being childfree by choice as i cant stand to see women get screwed over.

I do suffer with a bit of anxiety I didnt realize i had to state that as a caveat before posting.

Took DS to the barber last week and they had a power cut for third day in a row, most of the high street was affected

That wasn't in your opening post and nor does it clarify anything.

Anyway, you have stated you have had advice which you have taken on board which seems to bring this to a conclusion.

yphtutor · 27/11/2018 21:20

I work in a hairdressers we go above and often beyond for our clients why would you even go here second guessing for what purpose GAIN I can only think. Get a life

Nicknacky · 27/11/2018 21:59

red I think the op had copied that comment from twitter or somewhere and isn’t actually referring to her son.

mummyhappiness · 27/11/2018 22:25

Happened to me. I went home to take foils out and then wash the colour out. No big deal !

LovelyGirlNOT · 27/11/2018 22:34

Oh my, this thread....
Have genuinely cried with laughter Grin

(and I do suffer from an anxiety disorder btw.... but the legalities of a power cut whilst at the hairdressers?! Nope, can't say I've lost sleep over that one)

Nothisispatrick · 27/11/2018 22:41

How can one be childfree by choice and a mother?

WorraLiberty · 27/11/2018 22:42

I'm still confused as to why/how someone earlier, diagnosed the OP with anxiety disorder? Confused

sheldonesque · 27/11/2018 23:27

I didn't get anxiety worra

I thought it was a cowlick and an untidy grey fringe.

tiddliewinkiewoo · 27/11/2018 23:43

*I used the hairdressing thing as one example but its not just that. Its the elderly and infirm.

Its the damage to the economy. *

I,m only half way through the thread so apologies Helena if this has been covered - how on earth can you quote something so trivial as a hairdressing appointment to 'the elderly and infirm' 'hospitals and theatres' etc

Utterly bizarre Confused

Please don't be that absolute arsehole that would 'sue' a hairdresser through not fault of their own - and yes, your OP reads like that.

HelenaDove · 27/11/2018 23:54

i wouldnt which ive already said IT WASNT MEANT THAT I WOULD DO THAT I HAVE NO INTENTION OF DOING THAT
