there is a power cut while im having something done and im halfway through it e.g like a hair colour.

im asking because Storm Diana is imminent and i have an appointment booked this week.

Back in Jan there was a power cut the day after a storm on the day of my appointment but at that time they hadnt started my treatment yet.

power cuts round here seem to be getting pretty common now

i dont really want to be sent home to wash the dye out myself if this happens because i have long hair and would end up with dye all over my clothes and coat.

has anyone experienced anything like this?

Power cut sounds like an 80s haircut to match power dressing with shoulder pads

Or an 80s hair metal group

NutBiscuit · 28/11/2018 15:39

Ok...I am super confused! Was it the OPs deleted post that indicated she lives in Hornchurch?
I also live in Hornchurch and am wondering if I've missed something! I can't remember the last time we had a power cut and i have no idea what happened in the winter of 2013. OP, can you fill me in?!

Bigonesmallone3 · 28/11/2018 15:49

This all sounds to risky to me..

This thread has lightened my day..
let the rain rinse it out 😂😂

sheldonesque · 28/11/2018 17:18

One would wonder if the thread has been the highlights of your day big

One would hate to foils your terrific go at humour so I shan't be blunt. I shall gloss over my pitiful attempts and shall be tipping my hat to all comics on this thread, There are many subtle layers to you all. I'm blown away.

Eh?

brizzledrizzle · 28/11/2018 17:21

You win sheldon, I shall go away and curl up as the locks of jealousy flow over me.

justtryingtodoitright · 28/11/2018 17:24

Aaaaaah! I see! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bloody hell I'm slow today- 4.5 hours sleep!! Get me to bed and wish for my brain to wake in the morning 🙄

justtryingtodoitright · 28/11/2018 17:25

Maybe I should curl up and dye.

sheldonesque · 28/11/2018 17:26

Sorry
Highlights, foils. blunt cut. gloss, tipping and layers are a nod to hairdressing terms just

I am merely a pig in knickers and my hair hasn't seen a salon in 2 years Sad I technically know nowt.

All this pigment was to try to be vaguely amusing. I've clearly failed Blush

justtryingtodoitright · 28/11/2018 17:28

No Sheldon*!! You haven't. It went straight over my head.

sheldonesque · 28/11/2018 17:34

just

I'm hearing you on the minimal sleep. Flowers

I shall be blaming my dire sense of humour on that Grin

The only thing going over my head should be a hairdresser's cape. The jury is out whether it should be fastened over my face...

justtryingtodoitright · 28/11/2018 17:36

Sheldon
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Whilst on such a hair raising subject, I tinted and balayage'd my own hair today on such little sleep. Apparently your jury hasn't come back on my new look either. 🤷🏻‍♀️

sheldonesque · 28/11/2018 17:44

I ve natural balayage just

It may not be conventional balayage.

Some might call it grey roots...

I applaud your endeavours today. I'm in that much of a fug I'd have ended up with chemical burns if I'd have attempted that!

I've only managed ironing. Just normal ironing. Not the flat variety.

DiaryofWimpyMum · 28/11/2018 17:54

GrinThis thread is bonkers I love it!

brizzledrizzle · 28/11/2018 18:05

I fear that this thread is going to come to a split end - those who are descending into bonkerdom and those who remain sane .

RedDogsBeg · 28/11/2018 18:05

The incident was a fire in an electrical room caused by an overloaded inverter.

A completely unrelated incident which was not caused by the power companies, your point is what, OP?

sheldonesque · 28/11/2018 18:24

It has been a while since my overloader was inverted.

I may well blame the power companies for that as well...

RedDogsBeg · 28/11/2018 18:33

Well, now I'm jealous sheldonesque I've never had an inverted overloader so I shall contact the power companies forthwith and complain in the strongest possible terms.

sheldonesque · 28/11/2018 18:53

red

Just make sure you ask for an inverted one rather than an inserted one.

I believe they are completely different...

RedDogsBeg · 28/11/2018 19:31

sheldonesque Will doGrin.

manicmij · 29/11/2018 10:42

Bet your hairdresser is just as worried about this happening as you are! Ever heard of cold water.
