So it's quite a busy fancy hairdressers ..thought I would treat myself.
My apt was at 12...got here at 11.45 and it's 13.07 and I'm still sat in my gown waiting.
She's started another client about 20 mins ago..
So I'm worrying I won't get to school on time
Aibu to be getting a bit annoyed now ?

Has she rememebered about you if shes started another client?

Thehop · 22/11/2018 13:10

That’s ridiculous

Has there been a mistake? Does she know you’re her client? You’ll have to say to reception “I’m sorry I can’t stay, I’ll be late for school. When can you book me back in please? “ they’ll probably lay throw a free treatment in by way of apology x

Returnofthesmileybar · 22/11/2018 13:10

I'd have walked out ages ago!

VincentVanGoughandhisear · 22/11/2018 13:12

Leave!!!

Over an hour late is ridiculous!

lindey0 · 22/11/2018 13:12

She keeps popping over apologising and she's made me a cuppa so she knows.
I booked this a month ago so not like she was squeezing me in.
There's another 4 of us sat looking at each other thinking wtf

That's terrible service , especially from an upmarket place. I'm surprised they haven't been running around grabbing you refreshments and magazines, full of apologies. I would leave and ask what will be done to compensate your time.

firsttimebabybirther · 22/11/2018 13:13

X post

blueskiesandforests · 22/11/2018 13:13

YANBU - as others say speak to reception and leave. Rebook if they offer you vouchers/ a discount by way of an apology but go elsewhere if they don't. Sorry your treat turned out to be such a disappointment.

lindey0 · 22/11/2018 13:13

This is my only day off till the new year ..I have the weekends but have the kids and they would not sit in here for 3 hours Confused

cowfacemonkey · 22/11/2018 13:14

I would leave, being over an hour late is ridiculous.

mum11970 · 22/11/2018 13:15

Leave. An hour late is ridiculous and no one wants a rushed hair do.

mum11970 · 22/11/2018 13:16

If it’s a 3 hour appointment then you’ll never make the school run.

Opheliasgoldenwine · 22/11/2018 13:17

I'd absolutely leave. You'll either get a rushed do or you'll miss the school run.

Hannnnnnnxo · 22/11/2018 13:23

I would leave. I wouldn’t wait that long for a doctor’s appointment! She will inevitably rush when doing your hair - so after all the waiting around you probably won’t be happy as something will go wrong, you won’t be satisfied with the end result. (Whether that’s colour or a cut, or even being really rough with a blow out.) If your stylist is stressed and rushing, she won’t perform her skills at her full potential.

If anything, she should book you in for an earlier date at your convenience to make this up to you.

CMOTDibbler · 22/11/2018 13:23

I'd tell them that it isn't acceptable and that you won't be returning. An hour late (and running) isn't a service level you should put up with

lindey0 · 22/11/2018 13:23

She's just started now.
I have to be there for 4 and it's only 10 min walk
I think I should make it ok

OP posts:
MawkishTwaddle · 22/11/2018 13:24

You should get that haircut for free. Terrible way to run a business.

Hannnnnnnxo · 22/11/2018 13:27

Fair enough, but make sure you speak up if you think anything is going awry, no one wants a bad cut/colour!

RiverTam · 22/11/2018 13:28

you need to speak up - can't believe you just sat there for over an hour and said nothing!!!

Tara336 · 22/11/2018 13:49

My old hairdresser used to regularly run late, slot people in before my appointment etc. I found a new hairdresser

Lockheart · 22/11/2018 14:00

I’ve not yet found a hair dresser that isn’t usually running 10mins (or so) late, but an hour takes the piss. I’d leave after half an hour.

I certainly wouldn’t be paying full price for it, let’s put it that way!

Lydiaatthebarre · 22/11/2018 14:04

I would definitely complain about the wait when you're paying. If they had been running to time and you had turned up an hour late would they have been as accommodating to you as they seem to think you should be to them?

Maybe something unexpected happened, but they should definitely give a discount to any customers who were kept waiting an hour.

NRPDad · 22/11/2018 14:15

Ask for a significant discount at the end. 50%

lindey0 · 22/11/2018 14:24

They deffo wouldn't have seen me as once I was 5 mins late and they were slightly arsey.
She has offered me a half price treatment £10 instead of £20

OP posts:
Tinty · 22/11/2018 14:27

Well at least she is trying to make up for the lateness by offering you half off. I hope your haircut is nice OP.
