Meeting Your Idols and Being Disappointed

Today I almost met somebody who has been a big figure in my life. It took ages to pluck up the courage to speak to them and I was totally dismissed. I wasn’t being a “gushing fan” and it was a setting that was laid back. Everyone else was lovely. Have tou ever met someone you admire and wish you hadn’t?

See this? And she is one, as well. She is a massive diva and is so rude. She went on a saga cruise ship full of 80+ year old grannies to do a performance and she demanded that entire corridors and walkways be cordoned off with sheets and screens so she could get from her cabin to stage and back without having to be seen or talk to any back stage staff. Try telling an old granny she had to walk a really long way round to get to her seat. It was unheard off. And she was evil to the house band too. The performers usually chat and are gracious with passengers they're hardly going to be mobbed on saga. The passengers got wind of this and were decidedly cool towards her!
