Inspired by another thread, what are things that give you the willies?

My biggest one is houseboats.

desperately hoping other people get the willies too

Forgot to add, google earth when it zooms in. I can’t watch it.

Shirleyphallus · 15/11/2018 21:59

Does anyone ever get that feeling when you’re about to drop off to sleep and it feels like you’re shrinking/the rooms getting bigger?

Omg @halfbloodprincess yes!! I’ve never known anyone to have this. It is horrible and so weird!

HumphreyCobblers · 15/11/2018 22:01

"Does anyone ever get that feeling when you’re about to drop off to sleep and it feels like you’re shrinking/the rooms getting bigger?"

This is called Alice in Wonderland syndrome, it happens when people fall asleep. Not to me though.

My friend gets the willies about seaweed. Grin

And I heard tonight of someone who can’t bear phone calendars, now that’s just WEIRD.Wink

Athena51 · 15/11/2018 22:01

See through stairs, or any height where you can see down to the ground.

The thought of putting one of those wooden coffee stirrers in my mouth

Getting off an escalator, I always do this stupid little skip because I'm convinced I'll get trapped.

Things scraping against my nails. Like a razor or the edge of a tin can 🤢

Wet socks

Chomping down on a hard kernel of popcorn

Dribble.

People balancing things on their knees. Phones/Glasses etc. It’s annoys the crap out of me and I can’t even look at it

3luckystars · 15/11/2018 22:03

Tinted glasses.

Chaosandmadness · 15/11/2018 22:03

Soggy bread. Like when you buy a sandwich from a supermarket and the corner bit is slightly soggy. I have to throw the whole thing away

Polkapjs · 15/11/2018 22:03

Bridges over water in dreams. I always end up over a ravine or about to fall to my death
Spiral staircases which turn to death traps in dreams too

Isshebeingserious · 15/11/2018 22:03

Weird, or genius? Maybe it’s a premonition about AI taking over the world??

Or maybe the inputting method and formatting is just willy-giving 😁

And bum bags.

Nuggetsandwich · 15/11/2018 22:04

Anything to do with space. I can't watch space documentaries because they FREAK me out. We're so small!

Helpimfalling · 15/11/2018 22:04

@LtGreggs this is edging gross I just tried this ewww

Helpimfalling · 15/11/2018 22:05

Effing^

hippoherostandinghere · 15/11/2018 22:05

Also like PP edges. Don't mind heights so much but I physically cannot bring myself to stand on the edge of something. It's a result of two older brothers being jackasses walking over a bridge.
And I hate looking out a window at night when it's dark but you have the light on, the fact someone could be standing right up against the window peering in (another result of a jackass brother).

LlamaShark · 15/11/2018 22:05

This thread has just reminded me to add cotton wool to my online shop, thanks

Mine is water, even the deep end of a swimming pool gives me the willies, and killer whales. I've had quite a few nightmares about them

LoveBeingAMum555 · 15/11/2018 22:05

Nail clippings.

ComeOnGordon · 15/11/2018 22:06

Stickers!!!

FlipperyGibbet · 15/11/2018 22:07

@stressed yes!! I get that weird teeth feeling too and have never heard of anyone else having it!

For me it's dry fingers and the sound they make when they rub together...gahhhh

Grimbles · 15/11/2018 22:08

@MamaLovesMango - big radio masts.

I thought I was the only one! Any kind of large metal 'skeleton' type structure weirds me out.

I'm OK with pylons most of the time, but not big clusters of them.

Isshebeingserious · 15/11/2018 22:08

Why stickers?!

newrubylane · 15/11/2018 22:08

I'm with @Gluetap. Wet tissue shudder

drigon · 15/11/2018 22:09

Yes, open water and large ships in water, something about their sides makes me shudder. Also, bare mountains with no trees or much vegetation.

MissCherryCakeyBun · 15/11/2018 22:09

The sound of people scraping a spade to get sand off concrete paving....it makes my toes want to curl up backwards and I just get clammy hands from the noise....hearing people scuff their shoes over sand on concrete/the pavement is almost as bad.

ALemonyPea · 15/11/2018 22:09

Ice blue eyes

Short men

That sound that comes from balloons when babies/toddlers squeeze them. Impending doom sounds just like that.
