AIBU or has DP been a twat

DP works nights but came home last night at midnight as there was an issue at work, he woke me up to ask me to set an alarm on my phone for very early morning so he didn't miss football (he plays every Sunday, straight after he gets off work) then proceeded to keep me up until gone 1:00am. He couldn't use his own alarm apparently, as his phones playing up.

I have a baby at home and am pregnant so need whatever sleep I can get at the moment.

He stays up watching TV until gone 2, disturbing me again when he came to bed then proceeded to keep me up for the remainder of the night with his snoring. I then get woken again by his stupid alarm going off on my phone.

He goes to football this morning and calls after the match to say he's just finishing an after match pint (uncommon for him so no problem there) and do I want to meet him in town in 25 minutes after I've collected a parcel, so we can take DS to the park and grab some dinner.

I collect the parcel and go to town, standing about with the pram for over half an hour. I text him to say I'm here then he rings and says he'll be another hour because his team mate has got him another pint, but it's not his fault because he didn't ask for it.

I say well what do you want me to do then? He replies that it's up to me. Irritated and tired I hung up and came home.

AIBU and hormonal or has he acted like a twat.

Never set an alarm for the twat again. Can you send him to the sofa to sleep? Snoring cunt.

Hocusypocus · 11/11/2018 15:29

Very surprised but reassured to hear everybody is on the same page as me.

I wondered whether I was being a killjoy by being annoyed with him when he was just trying to enjoy himself.

Perhaps I'm more pre disposed to accept shitty behaviour than I initially thought.

Not one bit happy

Yet another reason why my marriage ended. Exh used to totally take the piss like your dh.

Once he is home make him entertain little one while you get a few hours rest. Put your foot down, entertaining little one does not mean him having an after beer nap !!!

Hezz · 11/11/2018 15:31

What a selfish prick.

Hocusypocus · 11/11/2018 15:31

He's been banished to the sofa before but I took pity on him and he's back in the bed now on his nights off.

With him working five nights a week it's unusual he'll keep me up at night but one night is too many when you have to be up with the baby, and are pregnant with a second.

This crap at the pub has been the cherry on the cake

lovetherisingsun · 11/11/2018 15:33

Would he treat his boss like that? His mates? No. But it's ok to treat his pregnant partner like that? Off you fuck, you selfish little twat (not you OP, your partner).

Hocusypocus · 11/11/2018 15:33

Still no sign of him, he's been out the house since 8:00am, went to the pub at half twelve and still isn't back

Crinkle77 · 11/11/2018 15:34

He's a twat. Doesn't take an hour to drink a pint.

Aquamarine1029 · 11/11/2018 15:37

I would be so pissed off I think my head would explode. His lack of regard for you is shocking.

Hocusypocus · 11/11/2018 15:41

I've had to stop myself sending him a very shitty text, not that it would make a blind bit of difference.

He's probably sat there telling his team mates I'm moaning but I'll get over it and he isn't rushing back Envy

LongWalkShortPlank · 11/11/2018 15:41

You should take the little one out somewhere and don't be there when he gets back. You don't need him to have a nice time. Go see a movie (age dependent) or just have a nice Sunday lunch somewhere without him. My ex used to be like that too. Its pretty destroying over a long period of time when you realise you're just not a priority.

Ginger1982 · 11/11/2018 15:42

You need to have a serious chat when he gets home.

Blanchedupetitpois · 11/11/2018 15:43

Twaaaaaaaat

Hocusypocus · 11/11/2018 15:44

I should've just gone for lunch with DS myself and then to the park, but I was so angry it spoilt the day so I just came straight home.

If I wasn't propping my eyelids up with match sticks I'd definitely bugger off back out and leave him to return to an empty house.

AnotherEmma · 11/11/2018 15:45

And you decided to have not one but two children with him? Confused

I suppose equal leisure time is an alien concept in your household, if you add up all the time he spends playing football, going to the pub and watching tv, there's isn't any time left for him to do a tiny bit of parenting, is there, let alone his fair share.

Why do women put up with this shit?

Quartz2208 · 11/11/2018 15:46

The problem is here he knows he is going to get away with it - and then he will again and again

Leaving you there was an awful thing to do

MumW · 11/11/2018 15:52

Can you text one of the mates and ask him to tell your "selfish twat of a partner to get his arse back home pronto so he can look after his baby while his pregnant partner takes a nap to catch up on the disturbed night HE caused her"?

Hocusypocus · 11/11/2018 15:52

@AnotherEmma it took years for his twat side to seep through and even then it was a slow trickle of "little things" that on their own could've been overlooked.

He can be a prick but I wouldn't change my DC for the world

OP posts:
Hocusypocus · 11/11/2018 15:54

@MumW oh I'm tempted believe me, though it would only feed into the "nagging fun police at home" image he's probably painting of me today.

And man who buys into that is as bad as him (but given most of them are at a pub all Sunday afternoon...)

PhaedrasChocolate · 11/11/2018 16:01

Years ago when I was heavily pregnant, my exdp did this to me and left me in the snow to get the bus home.

I cooked him a lovely spaghetti Bolognese. He ate it all up and I didn't tell him for a year...

PhaedrasChocolate · 11/11/2018 16:01

Oops. It was made mostly of catfood.

EK36 · 11/11/2018 16:02

He's a twat. Buy him an alarm clock and tell him not to wake you up any more.

Hocusypocus · 11/11/2018 16:02

@PhaedrasChocolate what did you do?? Grin

OP posts:
Hocusypocus · 11/11/2018 16:02

@PhaedrasChocolate Genius!
