To ask how old you are?

The ‘butter or no butter’ thread has made me curious. My kids reckon loving butter is a generational thing, but I’d be surprised if all the butter lovers on here are over 50.

I’ll start. I’m 67 and I love butter.

22, hate it only ever use for baking because i’m scared to change recipes

39, confirmed butter fan.

DS x 3 (13, 11 & 8) also butter fans.

32, love butter

I love it but up until a few years ago used spreads for health reasons. Now realise that was all bullshit marketing and try to use spreads which have no palm oil and vegetable oil only.

45 and I am the butter queen. I have it on everything and it needs to be spread so thick that you can see your teeth marks in it!!
Dh is 46 and hates it.
Dc are 13 and 10 and love it too - hurrah!

Mid fifties and live real salted Welsh butter. Spread is vile to me. I was forced to eat the extremely low fat low calorie one as a child. Thought butter was the most amazing thing when I first tasted it at 18.

43. Love it. Toast just a vehicle for lashings of butter

24. I'll have butter on toast or soft butter on bread/a sandwich, but otherwise not interested.

35 and I hate butter unless on toast with conserve or on a roll with soup. Can’t abide it on sandwiches or anything else

39 and would sell DP for butter if the choice had to be made

Of course I would also sell him for beef brisket , whisky and cauliflower cheese so this is not uncommon

But I do love butter

40. Love butter. I think we were all brought up on grotty marg in the 80s and didn't know any better.

DH, 42, town mouse, prefers margarine. :-/

I detested it, until my late 20's. Late 30's now and a bit of a fan!

I am 76. After the war I lived with my grandmother and two maiden aunts. I had 4 butter rations and they ate marge. I still love it (high cholestorol too). They were lovely ladies and my Dad came home in 46 I think.

28. And I do love butter, but only Lurpak though. I hate British butter, and I'm Scandinavian 🙈

I'm 66 only use butter for baking, I seldom eat bread and much prefer mayo spread on bread in sarnies.

29, love it! Refuse to touch spread/margarine. Tastes like plasticky oil

47 and love butter, DP is 34 and also loves it. No marg in our house!

Butter makes absolutely anything and everything taste better. In my 30's and love it
