To ask how old you are?

The ‘butter or no butter’ thread has made me curious. My kids reckon loving butter is a generational thing, but I’d be surprised if all the butter lovers on here are over 50.

I’ll start. I’m 67 and I love butter.

50 and can't have any other spread.

41 and now dislike spread. DD (6) had some on her toast recently (we'd usually have butter) and she wouldn't eat it, saying it was too wet. It was.

32 (for nine more days) and prefer butter on sandwiches but not overly fussed.

I'm 30 and spread can fuck off. Butter on everything thing!

You can't overdo butter, bacon or garlic as far as I'm concerned.

60 and butter all the way. (I did visit a spread factory once. Still not sure what goes into it and why).

Why did I just lie? I'm 34.

23 and love butter, I often have pasta smothered with butter and a bit of black pepper as comfort food.

40, and love it.

33. LOVE butter but grew up on spread (as is the fate of those born in the 80's). So sad about all those years of good toast I missed out on.

I think it might be generational, you know. Both my parents and my partners parents (all in their early 60's) will only eat spread, for 'health' and reasons .

Nearly 34 and love butter. Was brought up on the terrible marge stuff in the 80s and 90s and once I discovered real, proper butter, I've never bought spread again.

36 and I like butter.

49 and I love butter. Nice freshly baked loaf of bread, butter and strawberry jam - food of the Gods.

I'm 46. I love butter

I'm 33 in two weeks.

I love the taste of butter but can't be bothered with the difficulty spreading so we usually have Flora Buttery in our fridge

50 and loving it (butter, that is)!

38, salted butter is my downfall.

42. Butter is probably one of my top 3 favourite food items The butter we bought in Normandy on holiday was the food of the gods.

26. Don't like it in sandwiches. Do on toast but that's not often. Do LCHF now and I've got used to it but wouldn't care if I never had it again.

29, only use butter, don't like spread - never have done!

50 and I love butter. 

@ShannonRockallMalin I live in Normandy. Never less than a kilo of said butter in the fridge. 5 of us eat salted, 1 unsalted (doux). Marge goes mouldy in the fridge here.

52. My younger siblings prefer it, so do my DCs.
