There are x3 of us (teenage dd) . I’m not sure exactly how much we are spending as me and dh do bits and bobs separately.

For food shopping together with things like cleaning products etc you would buy in your normal shop, how much are you spending?

Family of 4 (two hungry teenagers) a cat & a dog. Not big drinkers, cook everything from scratch. £180 per week.

LittleGoose000 · 05/11/2018 13:34

Around £70 a week. DH works away Mon-fri. So most of the week it's just me, dd13, ds7 and ds5.

Shaboohshoobah1 · 05/11/2018 13:37

About £180 a week too - family of 4, we all eat a lot! Mostly vegetarian/vegan & no packet foods/junk, and I really try not to spend too much. This includes all household products (shampoo, toothpaste, all that stuff & washing liquid, dog food, bin bags etc etc) I don’t know how it ends up so much - I think we are just greedy Grin

Whereisthegin1978 · 05/11/2018 13:38

Family of 5 (children 6-11 years) + a cat. approx £130 a week.

TeddyIsaHe · 05/11/2018 13:40

Dd and I (22 months) I spend around £100 a week for everything excluding toiletries. Tons of fresh fruit and veg, lots of fish and organic meat.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 05/11/2018 13:41

£200 that's me and dds who are 5 and 9.

Frankswife87 · 05/11/2018 13:41

Approximately £400 per month that's good and household products, we do shop on Sainsbury's. That's for a family of four and two dogs and two cats 😁

ColourMeGreen · 05/11/2018 13:41

About 230-250 a week, 2 adults, 10yo, 4yo and 2yo. No pets, no alcohol. All 3 dc have food issues and no two people eat any meals the same. There's also lots of nappies included in that as DS1 isn't yet dry at night, both small ones are still in nappies full time.

NoChocolateThanks · 05/11/2018 13:41

Family of 6(2 teenagers+2 under 5),2 dogs and cat.
Cooking from scratch, menu planning for whole week.Aiming to spend no more than £100,but some weeks up to£250.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 05/11/2018 13:42

Oh and a cocker o forgot him!!

Frankswife87 · 05/11/2018 13:42

Meant goes on household products!

wallyfeatures · 05/11/2018 13:43

Family of four and a cat about £70 per week including all cleaning and toiletries. Husband eats lunch at work Monday to Friday.

Limensoda · 05/11/2018 13:45

Two of us. Spend approx £35 to £40 per week on groceries

LakieLady · 05/11/2018 13:46

2 adults and a dog, approx £40-70pw, depending on what runs out in any given week (and how much wine we buy).

I find it shoots up if we get low on things like dishwasher tabs, laundry liquid and other non-food items in the same week or two. That's why I find it hard to be exact.

Last week I spent £90, but that was exceptional. I stocked up on a few non-perishable things that were on offer, and we had run out of a lot of toiletries and dog food. A big sack of dog food lasts months though, so I won't be buying that for a long time.

MissMalice · 05/11/2018 13:47

Six of us - 2 adults, 2 teens, 1 in nappies. No more than £80 a week. Needs must. Was previously about £150 a week.

EmUntitled · 05/11/2018 13:49

Around £60 a week for 2 adults and a toddler. I buy a lot of meat on special offers or reductions, and use frozen fruit and veg to save money.

Littlechocola · 05/11/2018 13:49

2 adults, 3 children, dog and cat. £70-£90 including food, cleaning products, toiletries, alcohol.

CaseStudyResearch · 05/11/2018 13:51

40-60 per week for 2 adults and 2 cats.

Probably add on £15 per week to that for my lunches and £25 for DH’s per week.

Babybearsporij · 05/11/2018 13:54

I do a weekly shop.

If I physically go myself to the shop (which I prefer doing - pick my own fruit & veg etc) it's about £100-£120 per week for 4 of us. This includes all 3 meals all week for me, DH, and 2 DC, plus cleaning stuff, presents etc.

If I do an online shop, it's usually less then £100.

Guess who gets sucked into buying extras / stuff from the Aisle of Random

anniehm · 05/11/2018 13:55

Way too much. At least £200 a week including take away and coffees, should be on eat well for less. That said we can afford it (now) so why not

Celebelly · 05/11/2018 13:56

A bloody fortune for two people. About £320-£350 a month.

Celebelly · 05/11/2018 13:57

Oh and another £70 a month on pet food.

Nodancingshoes · 05/11/2018 13:59

Approx £75 a week in Lidl. Family of 4, no pets

RubixCubix · 05/11/2018 13:59

£30 per week for 3 of us (2 almost teens)
That's for food, toiletries, cleaning stuff etc. Also needs to cover random expenses such as new shoes/haircuts/begging letters from school. Would love the budgets of some PP on here Sad

Childrenofthesun · 05/11/2018 14:01

I try to stick to £100 a week dor a family of 4 plus 1 cat but more often than not now it is £120-130. The DC have some school lunches so another £15 a week between them. I've really noticed how much more I've been spending over the past couple of years - I've had to change my shopping habits. I try to only eat organic meat, so that means we don't have meat very often any more! Fish is also really expensive, even the stuff that used to be cheap like tinned tuna or smoked mackerel.
