There are x3 of us (teenage dd) . I’m not sure exactly how much we are spending as me and dh do bits and bobs separately.

For food shopping together with things like cleaning products etc you would buy in your normal shop, how much are you spending?

DiggertyDamn · 05/11/2018 18:48

Family of four. Me, DH, 2 x 7yo DC

Probably about €60 a week.

DENMAN03 · 05/11/2018 18:48

About £100 a week. Just me but also three very fussy house cats, so includes their expensive food and cat litter. Also make my work lunches from that. Will spend a lot more if I have friends round for dinner however, which is fairly frequently.

ginghamstarfish · 05/11/2018 18:48

About £250 a month, two adults, no pets, all food and cleaning stuff etc, not much booze. Cook from scratch mostly, no takeaways. About half in Lidl, a monthly Tesco delivery, and odd bits at Sainsburys. Sadly no local market or greengrocer.

hooveringhamabeads · 05/11/2018 18:51

Me and 2 DCs (8 & 14) around £80 per week, including all toiletries.

Kemer2018 · 05/11/2018 18:51

About 45 per week. 2 adults and 1 12 year old.

outofmydepth31 · 05/11/2018 18:53

Around £200 a week for 2 adults, 5 children including one in nappies and 3 cats Confused

DiggertyDamn · 05/11/2018 18:54

Furrydogmum £1000 a month! You need these guys! www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/takepart/eat_well_for_less

CherryPavlova · 05/11/2018 19:01

I’m genuinely impressed by the earlier poster’s ability to manage a budget of £30. I’m sure it’s not necessarily choice but I don’t think I could do that week in, week out.

I’m too embarrassed to say how much we spent overall this weekend when we went away and I filled house for daughter and boyfriend who were house/dog sitting.

LBOCS2 · 05/11/2018 19:04

We budget £500 a month. This does 2x big Ocado shops, 3x2 hello fresh meals a week, and top ups from Aldi. There are two adults, two primary aged children, and one tween EOW.

dreamyflower · 05/11/2018 19:04

100 week. 2 adults, 1 toddler in nappies. Includes household stuff etc.

Nuffaluff · 05/11/2018 19:08

I reckon £500 per month for a family of four for a normal month. That includes things like cleaning products, takeaway coffees and my son’s school meals when I’m at work.
If we eat out, then it would be more.

Veronicat · 05/11/2018 19:11

At the moment @ £120 - 150 every 10 days or so but that includes extras to store for over winter for when we get snowed in.

Whiskeyjar · 05/11/2018 19:29

70 a week for two adults and two children under 8

Arrivederci · 05/11/2018 19:30

Just me and my husband. £30 a week. But we don't buy meat or dairy and cook from scratch. Do eat out fairly often too.

Bluearsedfly36 · 05/11/2018 19:31

£120 per week for 2 adults and 4 kids

BatsAreCool · 05/11/2018 19:33

2 adults. Varies from £100 to £150 per week.

Faster · 05/11/2018 19:34

Just me, 16mo DS and the cat.
I spend about £25 a week, an extra tenner once a month when I need nappies and wash powder.
It’s helped by DS getting fed at childcare but we eat well on my days off, fruit and veg, some fresh, some frozen. I don’t eat much meat, no alcohol. I batch cook and replace meat with pulses a lot. It’s very much a need rather than a choice though. But I honestly would struggle to spend £100 on just food shopping. I wouldn’t know what to buy!

puzzledlady · 05/11/2018 19:36

i would say about £150/week. 2 adults, 1 todder (4) and 1 little toddler (2) who is still in nappies and has a few allergies. Alcohol is on top of that, DH likes beers, i like champagne/prosecco. 2 dogs too - i sometimes cook for them.

FurryDogMother · 05/11/2018 19:40

Waves @Furrydogmum.

Probably around 60 to 70 quid (can't find the pound sign on this keyboard!) a week for my aged father and me - more when I have friends round for dinner, which is 2 or 3 times a month.

littlepeas · 05/11/2018 19:52

I shop every 5 days and aim to spend a maximum of £150 each time - it is often lower (just checked out a shop that was £87), but that's what I budget. So a maximum of £900 a month. That includes all food to be eaten at home, basic toiletries like toothpaste, cleaning products and dog food. We eat out as a family once a week on average, but don't get takeaways. 2 adults, 3dc aged 7-10, big dog, mostly vegetarian, as much organic as possible, Ocado.

Furrydogmum · 05/11/2018 19:54

Waves back @FurryDogMother 😁

MustStopSnacking28 · 05/11/2018 19:55

Around £60 a week for 2 adults, 1 baby weaning, 2 cats and a dog. We are very careful to only buy what we need, don’t have too many snacks and take lunch to work with us. Slacked a bit recently as i an on mat leave but we usually work to a v strict budget!

LizzieBennettDarcy · 05/11/2018 19:58

Around £180 a week with Ocado, for DH, myself and 2 adult DDs. We also probably spend around £50 a week on top up bits/extra veg etc, and the very odd takeaway.

Pet food I buy monthly at around £100 a month.

Furrydogmum · 05/11/2018 19:59

@DiggertyDamn that's for 4 "adults" as in oldies, 20yr old son, 16yr old son, 3 biggish dogs, 2 cats and a bunny.. Still wish it was less 😆
