You breakfast tease you! Immediately before starting this thread you bought shares in a cheese company didn't you? We all want cheese on toast now!

OP I think you should change your username from PumpkinandCheddar to PumpernickelandCheddar in honour of your subversive ways!

Much healthier than cereal or jam and toast! Protein to start the day is better than a carb fest!

NoSquirrels · 04/11/2018 08:57

Bagel and cream cheese

Cheese croissant

Sliced continental cheese on wholemeal seeded

All excellent breakfast choices. Personally I wouldn’t have the toast and melted cheese option but that’s just personal preference.

YABU!

GlitteryFlaps · 04/11/2018 08:59

Guess what I’ll be making soon... 😁

Thanks for the fab idea!!

Si1ver · 04/11/2018 08:59

Cheese and Marmite on toast. Obviously.

SoftSheen · 04/11/2018 09:00

YABU. Probably not ideal for someone trying to lose weight, but cheese on toast is a good mixture of carbohydrate, protein and fat, and with maybe some fresh fruit on the side, is a well-balanced meal. Great for toddlers and growing children.

...you do realise toast is a carb? Cheese on toast a bit better than jam on toast, but not remarkably so. It’s lovely but it’s not a good protein breakfast by a long shot.

Anyway, we shouldn’t derail a lovely Cheese on Toast thread with a discussion on carbs and proteins....it’s much nicer to just think how nice Cheese on Toast is! 😊🍞🧀

VerbenaGirl · 04/11/2018 09:04

Excellent if you have a bit of a hangover!

PurpleDaisies · 04/11/2018 09:04

What’s wrong with it?

WrongKindOfFace · 04/11/2018 09:05

I very often have bread and cheese/ham or a cheese toasty for breakfast. Those toaster bags are good for a quickly toasty.

I go wobbly if I just have something like cereal, need protein.

JennyHolzersGhost · 04/11/2018 09:10

Can’t believe it took til page 4 for someone to mention marmite and cheese on toast. What’s wrong with you all ?!

youarenotkiddingme · 04/11/2018 09:12

Your right.

Cheese in toast is a TERRIBLE breakfast.

You have to add bacon to it

You missed it near the top of page three.

ColdNeverBotheredMeAnyway · 04/11/2018 09:15

When you have a continental breakfast in a hotel they often offer slices of cheese which you can eat with a croissant, or maybe on toast.

So this is the same just melted.

You MUST put enough cheese to cover all the edges though. Nothing worse than stingy cheese on toast.

Kahlua4me · 04/11/2018 09:15

Sounds like a fine breakfast to me, with marmite too of course 😀

Babybearsporij · 04/11/2018 09:15

YABU!!! It's protein, carbs, fats. If I have something like ham & cheese o seedy bread for breakfast, I'm full until like 3pm, no blood sugar crashes etc.

LittleBookofCalm · 04/11/2018 09:19

oh is this some form of Subliminal advertising op?

joiningmum · 04/11/2018 09:20

A bit early for me, couldn't do it before lunch.

SoftSheen · 04/11/2018 09:22

Witchesbritches Cheddar cheese is actually about 25% protein so YABU to say cheese on toast isn't a good protein breakfast! Cheese is high in both fat and protein.

Lovemusic33 · 04/11/2018 09:23

I couldn’t eat cheese for breakfast, just seems wrong. Fine for lunch time though.

NutElla5x · 04/11/2018 09:26

Add some sliced tomatoes and black pepper and it seems like more than a good breakfast to me,in fact I know what I'll be having for brunch now yum.

pippa999 · 04/11/2018 09:29

Ooooh, hot buttered toast, with lovely melted cheese on it, and a small slathering of butter on top, and a tiny bit of ketchup...

Yummmmmmmmmmmm. Smile

Even nicer if you put tomato puree on the bread (then the sliced/grated cheese,) before toasting it. It's like a mini pizza. Grin

Probably wouldn't have it for breakfast as I can only stomach a bit of cereal (with some nuts and fruit,) or a yogurt. But for lunch, yep!

CwtchesAreTheBest · 04/11/2018 09:29

Cheese on toast is my dd (13) breakfast of choice on school days!!! She is a skinny, sporty girl with a good diet. She eats breakfast around 7:15 and needs something to keep her going until lunch at 1 pm, they only get a short break at 10:30 and she usually has a banana or a cereal bar then. She would be starving without a filling breakfast!

Bunchofdaffodils · 04/11/2018 09:30

Already had bran flakes, but that’s second breakfast sorted 😋

Cantusethatname · 04/11/2018 09:30

I've just had that!
