At a place I used to work, the canteen sold amazing breakfast food.

Cheese on toast with BACON in there as well, with a scoop of baked beans on top. Heaven.

stopgap · 04/11/2018 11:33

My 4-year-old has it for breakfast daily, alongside an apple and a boiled egg. I think it’s a fine breakfast.

abitoflight · 04/11/2018 11:52

It's nice with salad cream on top too but I think that makes it more a lunch thing

PerkingFaintly · 04/11/2018 11:54

Mmm. I want cheese on toast now...

EnglishRose13 · 04/11/2018 11:59

Has anyone else eaten cheese on toast this morning thanks to this thread?

VenusInSpurs · 04/11/2018 12:12

Why is cheese on toast NOT. A good breakfast!

Unless you are wheat / dairy intolerant or on a low carb or low cal or low fat diet?

toherdoor · 04/11/2018 12:45

Breakfast of champions.

AGHHHH · 04/11/2018 12:50

Does spoons do cheese on toast? 😂 I want it.

Aeroflotgirl · 04/11/2018 12:56

Your wrong, it is a bloody good breakfast, yummy yum.

TroysMammy · 04/11/2018 13:00

Maybe not but reading this I now know what to have for lunch.

Didsomeonesaybunny · 04/11/2018 13:08

I wouldn’t it eat for breakfast but I do love it. Welsh rarebit style is the best!

AviatorShades · 04/11/2018 13:13

I've been getting my meal ideas from here - a hearty veg soup last night, cheese on toast with Worcs.sauce this morning....and I don't usually eat breakfast, or soup very much! Grin

As you were...

I really want some cheese on toast now.

Blanchedupetitpois · 05/11/2018 08:04

I wouldn’t think of it tbh but it’s quite common in parts of continental Europe

PipGoesPop · 05/11/2018 08:07

Better than a bowl of Lucky Charms. Or nothing.

PumpkinandCheddar · 05/11/2018 14:23

I'm here and I admit I am unreasonable seemed like a fattening breakfast.

OP posts:
SoyDora · 05/11/2018 14:28

No food on its own is ‘fattening’. It depends how many calories you consume overall.

TheGoddessFrigg · 05/11/2018 14:34

I had cheese on toast as a result of this thread. It was bloody wonderful. Thank you OP!

Babybearsporij · 05/11/2018 14:35

^^ This.

You could have cheese on toast for breakfast, be full until 1.30 / 2pm. Have soup & salad for lunch, then normal dinner. Perfectly fine.

Or you could have cheese on toast for breakfast, maccies for lunch, cake for afternoon tea, curry for dinner, family sized bar of chocolate afterwards. Not fine.

tableandchairz · 05/11/2018 14:36

I had this for breakfast this morning. It was delicious.

All thanks to this thread.

GeoffreysCat · 05/11/2018 14:51

I had left over cottage pie for breakfast today so cheese on toast is definitely acceptable!

Korvalscat · 05/11/2018 14:54

I love the idea of cheese on toast but the reality is somehow never as good as I expect. Never tried it for breakfast though, I may experiment at the weekend.

MereDintofPandiculation · 05/11/2018 15:09

seemed like a fattening breakfast. It's the whole diet that matters. Perfectly fine to have a fattening breakfast if the rest of your diet isn't fattening.
