AIBU to think that Naga Munchetty would be a nightmare to work with?

I really enjoy watching BBC News in the morning and I like most of the presenters. However, Naga seems to just miss the target of “banter”. She seems to make ill-timed remarks to her colleagues who are then uncomfortable and don’t seem to know how to respond to her. My heart sinks when she’s on.

I really like Naga. There's a couple of the men on there i dont like to watch. I don't know their names though.

Blanchedupetitpois · 01/11/2018 07:00

I love her! I think she’s brilliant, clever and funny. I think it’s Charlie who is the least fun / most awkward.

ghostyslovesheets · 01/11/2018 07:02

I know someone who did work with her - said she was lovely

DaffydownClock · 01/11/2018 07:03

She's far too opinionated and cocky and Charlie Stait fancies himself too much.
I switch over when either/both of them are on.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 01/11/2018 07:03

She seems to miss 'banter' because it is often peurile... she makes her point with a deadpan response, or a slightly raised eyebrow. Her 'ill timed remarks' are sometimes her revenge for their silliness, and they are fully aware of it, that is their USP!

She is great!

VickieCherry · 01/11/2018 07:03

Love her! Can't stand Charlie's 'banter' though, and Dan Walker is awful.

honeysucklejasmine · 01/11/2018 07:03

I like her. She actually presses politicians for answers on their bullshit, which makes a change.

confusedandemployed · 01/11/2018 07:03

Sally Nugent is the one who grinds my gears...

Leder · 01/11/2018 07:04

Charlie and Naga don't seem like each other

derxa · 01/11/2018 07:05

I can't bear the programme full stop. They're all so boring and BBC. I feel the same about The One Show.

sossages · 01/11/2018 07:11

She's confident and dryly witty. I suppose there are people who don't like that in a woman.

finnmcool · 01/11/2018 07:16

I think she's great! Most definitely my favourite breakfast presenter, I really enjoy her wit.

MyFavouriteWasteOfTime · 01/11/2018 07:19

Do you work for the Express?

Sparklingbrook · 01/11/2018 07:19

I love her and also Steph.

Not keen on any of the male presenters.

LivLemler · 01/11/2018 07:19

I love her, she's very funny.

Can't stand Charlie Stayt. So many cringe worthy interviews.

PavlovianLunge · 01/11/2018 07:21

I like her, she seems smart and kind. I liked her on Strictly, too.

On the other hand, Dan Walker seems to be way out of his depth.

SymphonyofShadows · 01/11/2018 07:22

I like Naga, I loved her story about dancing with Prince in a club years ago. There was a weird dynamic between Steph and Louise the other morning, it made me wonder if they get on.

IFeelSorryForMillie · 01/11/2018 07:23

Do you work for the Express?

was thinking the same Grin

TokyoSushi · 01/11/2018 07:25

I used to work somewhere that had a lot of contact with both Naga & Charlie. She's actually about one of the nicest people I've ever met. She & Charlie are great friends and get on really well!

Yogagirl123 · 01/11/2018 07:26

I think she seems a lovely, what’s not to like? Dan Walker is an absolute legend, so funny.

onalongsabbatical · 01/11/2018 07:28

She's far too opinionated and cocky heaven forbid a woman should have confidence in herself.

artemisdubois · 01/11/2018 07:28

I like Naga, though I don't think she does a very good job of hiding her boredom/disdain when guests aren't to her taste. Arguably quite unprofessional, but I quite like seeing a bit of personality.

GunpowderGelatine · 01/11/2018 07:30

Love her. MORE opinionated women please!

strawberrisc · 01/11/2018 07:32

Wow. Pretty much unanimous against my feelings. That’s really eye-opening.

And as for working for the Express 🤣
