AIBU to think that Naga Munchetty would be a nightmare to work with?

I really enjoy watching BBC News in the morning and I like most of the presenters. However, Naga seems to just miss the target of “banter”. She seems to make ill-timed remarks to her colleagues who are then uncomfortable and don’t seem to know how to respond to her. My heart sinks when she’s on.

I don't watch BBC breakfast but she was on CBBC's Class Dismissed as a parody of a news reader and really funny. Having watched that I can't believe she is anything but lovely.

claracluck78 · 01/11/2018 07:35

I'm surprised she and Charlie get on - I always thought he was a bit patronising and down-talking to her. (But I love him and his bouffant!)

PyeWackets · 01/11/2018 07:35

Love her so much, she's great.

CurryAndCobra · 01/11/2018 07:35

YABU to watch BBC. Grin

Desecratedcoconut · 01/11/2018 07:35

I love Naga, Steph and Sally. I'm not so fond of Louise but they're all better than Charlie. I'd throw them all under a bus for Carol Kirkwood's collection of coats though.

strawberrisc · 01/11/2018 07:38

@CurryAndCobra. Am forced to pay my licence. Determined to get my money’s worth!

Seriously I really like BBC News. I went to America for the first time this year and was surprised at how rubbish their news coverage is. My phone even pinged the stories from BBC news about the pipe bombs being sent long before they picked up on it.

Also I couldn’t stomach GMTV before work!

Desecratedcoconut Carol Kirkwood is a goddess.

Ladymargarethall · 01/11/2018 07:43

I'm not a fan of Dan Walker on the sofa either. He should stick to footy.
I like Naga.
I also like Steph but she is on so much she is in danger of becoming the month's answer to Claire Balding.

StoorieHoose · 01/11/2018 07:47

Love Steph and Charlie oh and Carol. Mike and Dan annoy the face off me

Still miss Bill - he was the best

And they are all 100% better than gawd awful Piers on GMTV

strawberrisc · 01/11/2018 07:47

I miss Bill. Talk about dry.

This, absolutely. Suzanna Reid must have the patience of a saint.

kikashi · 01/11/2018 07:50

Hate BBC dumbed down propaganda breakfast show, especially Dan Walker and ITV is just dire . How can anyone stomach Susannah and Piers? I've ended up on Sky most mornngs. It's still way too dumbed down but although the adverts are distracting I prefer it.

StoorieHoose · 01/11/2018 07:50

Can we swap Suzanna Reid for Dan Walker do you think?

marvellousnightforamooncup · 01/11/2018 07:51

I like them all but Steph is my fave.

Ladymargarethall · 01/11/2018 07:51

The north's answer to Clare Balding not month's.

strawberrisc · 01/11/2018 07:52

I always find it fascinating how, as people, we have wildly different feelings. I like Dan and can’t abide Suzanna.

Band's my favourite. Can't stand Steph.

Whosafraidofvirginiawoofwoof · 01/11/2018 07:58

I sat next to Naga Munchetty at a dinner years ago, before she was on Breakfast, and she was really lovely, friendly and chatty. Her husband was there too and they were obviously very close and supportive of each other.

TheBigFatMermaid · 01/11/2018 07:58

I watch BBC, then get up and switch to ITV. I love Naga. She is smart, dry and can put anyone in their place with a carefully arched brow!

Lottapianos · 01/11/2018 07:59

I like Naga a lot. Her and Steph were presenting one morning when I was watching and they were great together

E20mom · 01/11/2018 08:05

I like her

WipsGlitter · 01/11/2018 08:05

I don't like her; she comes over as bring a bit full of herself. She also thought she was going to be brilliant on Strictly and then wasn't. it's interesting she went to newsnight and then came back to breakfast.

I agree there was a weird dynamic between Steph and Louise the other morning.

derxa · 01/11/2018 08:06

I love Piers and Susanna. I like their political interviews.

SillySallySingsSongs · 01/11/2018 08:08

I love Naga. Not keen on Carol.

LakieLady · 01/11/2018 08:08

Naga is fab! Really bright, and sharp and funny, but in a dry way.

I get the impression that Charlie Stayt isn't too keen on her though. But then I don't like him, he seems right up himself.

Dan Walker is ok doing sport, but a bit lightweight for the serious stuff and seems a bit childish imo.

Steph McGovern is fab and I'd like her for a mate. I bet a night out on the lash with McGovern would be an absolute hoot.

But Carol Kirkwood is just the best. She seems so utterly lovely, smart and kind and utterly unflappable, with a great sense of humour. If we ever get rid of the royal family and have a president instead, I'd bloody vote for her.
