AIBU to think that Naga Munchetty would be a nightmare to work with?

I really enjoy watching BBC News in the morning and I like most of the presenters. However, Naga seems to just miss the target of “banter”. She seems to make ill-timed remarks to her colleagues who are then uncomfortable and don’t seem to know how to respond to her. My heart sinks when she’s on.

I love Naga! I can’t stand Dan.

Busybusybust · 01/11/2018 09:25

Absolutely cannot stand her! That interview with Sir David Attenborough said it All!

Tinkobell · 01/11/2018 09:37

Over the years the BBC Breakfast presenters have become fluffier and fluffier....presumably to try and compete a little with the morons over on ITV. All of their quality staff are now on evening/world/newsnight. The scope of the news they present is painfully limited. Naga and Co are just part of the fluffy morning BBC strategy. Waste of licence fee.

tiggerkid · 01/11/2018 09:38

I quite like her. She seems lively and vibrant.

ReverseTheFerret · 01/11/2018 09:38

I love Steph on things where she gets to show her knowledge and intelligence (she's fantastic on things like HIGNFY) - but fucking hell I hate her on shit like "shop well for less" and the like.

LucheroTena · 01/11/2018 09:39

I’m amazed at the comments that she’s bright, I think the common strand is that none of them are bright enough. They seem very poorly read, even ignorant of issues. They don’t challenge politicians. Sally (4 boys) is a joke on the business programme.

The thickest by far is Dan, it’s like he won a contest to be a breakfast tv presenter for a day.

Steph is probably the best. I miss Bill.

Love Naga!

I didn't really warm to Charlie before he and Naga teamed up but now they are my Breakfast dream team (replacing the much cuddlier Bill and Sian)..

Mossend · 01/11/2018 10:05

I think she's fab, love BBC Breakfast

Disfordarkchocolate · 01/11/2018 10:17

Steph did a work event my husband was at, he said she was fantastic and very, very funny.

strawberrisc · 01/11/2018 10:26

I think Steph would be a great laugh on a night out!

I miss Bill Turnbull too. He was utterly brilliant in a unique low key way. Proper actual genuine talent there.

ConciseandNice · 01/11/2018 18:20

I bloody love Naga!

ForalltheSaints · 01/11/2018 18:22

I doubt it. Like Steph someone who does not appear false and presents without it being 'me, me, me'.

I hope Bill Turnbull's health improves and agree he was an excellent presenter. Dan Walker is a sports presenter and out of place.

RayRayBidet · 01/11/2018 18:29

Love Naga, I always think I'd like to go out with Naga and Steph. I reckon you would get into trouble.
Love Naga's style and pixie cut, she is funny and clever. Got a bit of a crush actually!

BlackBeltInChildWrangling · 01/11/2018 18:33

I like Naga. I think she would be a reliable and sparky friend and colleague.

BlueBug45 · 01/11/2018 18:36

Steph, Naga and Carol are all nice people and great to work with apparently. Don't know about the breakfast men.

Some of the male news readers/presenters who appear later in the day on the national news are very rude and grumpy. Unlike the current and previous breakfast women in comparison they got their jobs handed to them so they don't need to be nice and pleasant to work with.

EggysMom · 01/11/2018 18:56

Sorry, I'm not a Naga fan. I amazed to hear that Naga & Charlie get on, they always seem to be barely tolerating each other. I like Charlie, sounds like I'm in a minority there.

I really like Louise Minchin. Not sure about Dan, think he's better at the footy punditry and not really serious enough for news.

Definitely don't like Steph. And it's not the accent, before anybody asks. When she 'behaves' and talks intelligently, she's fine. But then she ruins it all with dragging the sofa around, and this week's stupid idea of "appearing through a doorway". Too many gimmicks, get back to delivering the business news like other business newsreaders have before (Simon Jack, though Declan Curry was always my favourite).

No comment on the sports presenters - we always switch over to Sky News at that point!

And please don't bring back Susannah Reid. I whooped in jubilation when she left for ITV.

Moonflower12 · 01/11/2018 21:23

I really like Naga. Her, Louise and Steph were really good the other morning- better than the men!

Glow123 · 04/12/2019 19:34

Naga Munchetty, in our opinion, is a wonderful news reader and nice person. No reason not to like her. Smart, talented, hard working, focused, great dress sense. A bit of character and personality is nice to see.
