Why does he still have a title? He’s a thief. Thousands of BHS employees are without a pension. He hides his money abroad in his wife’s name. The entire family are vulgar. If they were poor, they’d have been on Jezza Kyle by now.

Also, how is TopShop still in business? They sell extremely poor quality clothes at high prices. You can get the same clothes on BooHoo.com or those other online stores selling cheap tat far cheaper.

I can smugly say that his family haven’t received a penny from me since the BHS scandal but then I always thought he was a twat cavorting on yachts with Kate Moss and other celebs who would’ve treated him like the sleazy oily twat he is if he wasn’t rich.

LakieLady · 25/10/2018 17:41

Unfinished, by calling him a sleazy, oily twat, you are doing a disservice to twats everywhere. Wink He's far worse than that.

I wonder if Oliver Shah might update his book to include the latest scandal?

Unfinishedkitchen · 25/10/2018 17:44

Yes you’re right LakieLady, he’s far worse than that. I feel sorry for anyone who had to work directly under him. It must’ve been a nightmare. Imagine how sick they must’ve felt every morning getting ready to go into work for him.

With the outbursts and explosive temper, I wouldn’t be surprised to also learn that he had substance abuse issues.

2BorNot2Bvocal · 25/10/2018 17:45

This is about a MAN. A MAN who dismantled pensions, abused women, has made racist statements and is buying silence, and you've popped on to criticise the women in his life?

Normally I would be 100% behind you. I agree the assaults are down to him and him alone (I hope) but it is a family without a scrap of conscience.

Owllwo · 25/10/2018 17:46

What exactly has he done?

The article says they can’t explain what he’s accused of. What do you all know that leads him to be labelled a sleazy twat?

I feel like I’m missing a huge chuck of the story.

Owllwo · 25/10/2018 17:46

Chunk

2BorNot2Bvocal · 25/10/2018 17:48

Sorry I missed out an alleged there.

Jux · 25/10/2018 18:05

I hope this brings us closer to getting rid of NDAs for these sort of self-serving purposes.

Jux · 25/10/2018 18:13

Will they remove his title? Archer's still got his despite his, er, misdemeanors.

Cecil Parkinson went to his grave lauded despite the appalling way he treated his child and her mother.

These rich men just do as they please, and our politicians do nothing. Except, Peter Hain, obvs.

HerculesTheBerkules · 25/10/2018 18:26

it's definitely snappier than nasty, dirty, thieving, gun-toting, gang running, ex-convict, adulterous little cunt.

Yeah I can see how tabloid editors would struggle to fit that into a headline.

chickenloverwoman · 25/10/2018 19:26

Peter Hain is a promenant anti apartheid campaigner. I've met him a few times, back in the days of boycotts and protests and he was a good man. I look v d that he dropped PGs title lol

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 25/10/2018 19:28

2BorNot2Bvocal I absolutely agree that his tone-deaf family may well be lacking in conscience but however distasteful I find them, I dislike the opinion stated upthread that women must somehow be as culpable for a man's crimes as the man is.

While the family may have lived in luxury as a result of his despicable handling of the BHS pensions crisis, Philip Green's sexual offences and racism are his and his alone. I do find rolling it altogether and chucking a sort of '...and the women are as bad' type comment at it a bit jarring.

AngeloMysterioso · 25/10/2018 20:02

Lord Hain has form ...he was also after Bell Pottinger the arsewipe PR company ...

I worked at Bell Pottinger. We weren’t all arsewipes, honest! Grin

AngeloMysterioso · 25/10/2018 20:06

What have his wife and daughter done to be called sociopathic thugs?

His wife lives in Monaco and allows him to keep all his businesses in her name so they don’t have to pay tax on their billions.

His daughter paraded her affair with a married father of two like she was the cat that got the cream.

The whole family needs to fuck off.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 25/10/2018 20:29

Angelo I know the headlines. My point is that there is frequently insidious misogyny in the reporting of stories like this, and the comment/s upthread hinted at the same. A man has been dishonest, has allegedly committed sexual offences and been openly racist, but within a few posts, there's a comment about how his wife and daughter are practically as bad (paraphrasing). Because surely, surely we can push a degree of blame onto women just a tiny bit? I mean, why didn't his wife stop him?

It's not a case of thinking that his wife and daughter are marvellous human beings; it's about the fact that HE is the accused and not them.

My comments about the family are clear - I'm not defending their life choices or moral compasses, but I do find the name-calling and what I perceive to be a degree of misogyny, jarring.

KevinTheYuccaPlant · 25/10/2018 20:32

From today's Popbitch email, which I think was written before the name came out:

"A few months ago, we ran a story about how Philip Green made a rather generous business offer to Kate Moss's daughter Lila – offering to give her up to half of his annual profits in exchange for a kiss.

There has been a bit of development since then: Lila has turned 16.

Which is one legal obstacle out of the way... "

Gingerrogered · 25/10/2018 20:34

What have his wife and daughter done to be called sociopathic thugs?

His wife is absolutely complicit in his dubious business practices and tax avoidance, in fact she’s more active in the tax avoidance than he is and has misled MPs in the past. His daughter is similarly involved, and the way she behaved towards a married man with several children was appalling.

Gingerrogered · 25/10/2018 20:41

This is about a MAN. A MAN who dismantled pensions, abused women, has made racist statements and is buying silence, and you've popped on to criticise the women in his life? ffs.

Oh sorry. I didn’t know that stiffing people for their pensions, lying to MPs and avoiding tax was okay as long as you’re in possession of a vagina.

Go and have a read about Tina Green’s involvement and get off your damn high horse.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 25/10/2018 20:48

in fact she’s more active in the tax avoidance than he is

More active? Really? In what sense?

His daughter is similarly involved, and the way she behaved towards a married man with several children was appalling

The married man with several children was probably a little bit in the wrong as well.

This is precisely what I mean. A thread about Philip Green's appalling, shocking, criminal, predatory behaviour and attempted cover-up, but his wife probably dodges more taxes than him, should have 'done something about it' and let's judge his daughter's sex life while we're at it.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 25/10/2018 20:50

Go and have a read about Tina Green’s involvement and get off your damn high horse

What 'damn high horse?' Confused

Oh sorry. I didn’t know that stiffing people for their pensions, lying to MPs and avoiding tax was okay as long as you’re in possession of a vagina

Yep. That's exactly what I said.

SummerGems · 25/10/2018 21:03

So are we to assume that PG’s wife has no knowledge of the fact that he took out a super-injunction to stop the media outing him and what he’s alleged to have done? That she knows nothing of potential NDA’s against his (alleged) victims?

And as a side note that she looked on while thousands of staff members were stripped of pensions while she took a £25m salary?

But no, she’s a woman so therefore it’s unfair to label her alongside him.

She may not have been directly responsible for harassment of staff members, but her being knowledgeable of it happening and continuing to stay where she is because of the money makes her equally complicit in my book.

And don’t give a shit that she’s a woman. She’s his partner and she’s supporting him. That’s all that counts.

ConcreteUnderpants · 25/10/2018 21:04

All those saying well done Hain are totally missing the bigger picture.

Actually Hain should've kept quiet (or at least waited to see if the Telegraph failed)
as it's highly likely the courts would've lifted the interim injunction by ruling public interest anyway.

All he has served in doing (apart from boosting his own political gains) is provide support for the restriction of Parliamentary privilege to be restricted.
So then we all suffer.
