Disgraceful .

OP posts:
Snowdrifthill · 25/10/2018 16:48

I've been boycotting any of Philip Green business for ages. He's ruined the high street. This just makes me more determined that he doesn't get a penny of my money.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 25/10/2018 16:49

Well done Lord Hain for naming him as plain old "Philip Green" - love that extra dig

Can we hope that it is also deliberately portentous?

Idontbelieveinthemoon · 25/10/2018 16:49

According to reports he's spent over half a million trying to bury this.

What an absolute shitend he is.

toomuchtooold · 25/10/2018 16:50

I'm not surprised but was a bit shock that it was Alan Sugar that was named and shamed for it without basis, and Duncan Bannatyne too!

Duncan Bannatyne? That's awful! He's a genuinely good guy. I have a Romanian friend and we were discussing where I'm from in Scotland and she was like "Duncan Bannantyne! That's where he's from! He's really famous in Romania!" Apparently he went to Romania in the 90s and saw street kids and was really shocked and since then he's done loads of charity stuff there. So while I agree with the point made upthread that it's galling that the name only got leaked once the scandal started affecting other men, I am happy that his name's been taken back out of it.

ChimesAtMidnight · 25/10/2018 16:50

Luffly1 Peter Hain also (as well as his parents) campained and demonstrated against apartheid.

Ugh - I'm so glad this is out in the open.

Maccycheesefries · 25/10/2018 16:57

Well I've just shared the article on Facebook to make more people aware of the slimey shitbag's antics. We should all boycott his businesses now.

Busybusybust · 25/10/2018 16:59

Not surprised at all. A man completely without morals.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 25/10/2018 17:00

Toomuch Duncan Bannatyne's response to one accuser was great

A: I bet it was Duncan Bannatyne
DB: I bet you £20,000,000 of my money against £2,00 of yours it wasn't

Careful now, Warehouse is part of Aurora Fashions that also own Oasis.

Oblomov18 · 25/10/2018 17:04

No surprise.

YearOfYouRemember · 25/10/2018 17:04

Thankfully I've not given money to any of Green's shops in years.

TSSDNCOP · 25/10/2018 17:07

Isn't is funny, I go to walk into TopShop, then I think of P Green, Lady Tina and that daughter feel nauseous and walk out.

Like a sort of anti-shopper spray. It makes me pleased on days like this.

PasswordRejection · 25/10/2018 17:09

The very damaging side effect of these injunctions is often the innocent people who are caught up in it.

I wonder if this is all connected to that pop-up for a new book on feminism that was put up in the Oxford Street Top Shop being taken down after 20 mins. I heard at the time that the order had come straight from Green.

Mrsemcgregor · 25/10/2018 17:10

I’ve just downloaded the Oliver Shah book. I have a personal interest in this story and I am curious as to what has already been alleged.

I’ll let you know in the 4-5 weeks it takes me to read a book these days.....

HerculesTheBerkules · 25/10/2018 17:10

Nothing to add except I love the term "hot felon".

PattiStanger · 25/10/2018 17:12

IIRC PG showed his truly obnoxious colours when he appeared before a select committee about the BHS pension scheme

CheeseTheDay · 25/10/2018 17:14

Hmm, guess we now have a good idea why the feminist pop-up shop, that was (supposed) to help launch the book 'Feminists Don't Wear Pink (And Other Lies', only lasted inside a London Topshop store for just 20 minutes, before it was dismantled by store staff. I wouldn't be surprised if the order to dismantle came from above.

beanaseireann · 25/10/2018 17:18

I'm glad it's out because I was wondering who it was and had thought it was somebody else, who was mentioned upthread.
The flaunting of wealth during the BHS pensions scandal was disgusting.
Not a nice man.

Charley50 · 25/10/2018 17:21

I guessed it was him! Haven't rtft yet, just came on to say that! He's a right scumbag isn't he..

TSSDNCOP · 25/10/2018 17:21

Hercules it always makes me laugh but it's definitely snappier than nasty, dirty, thieving, gun-toting, gang running, ex-convict, adulterous little cunt.

Unfinishedkitchen · 25/10/2018 17:22

Yes apparently PG (not calling him Sir) ordered the feminist stand to be dismantled.

I am very late to this latest scandal, what was he supposed or have said and done? The Telegraph article just says sexism and racism but what actually happened?

I don't understand why he gagged the media. His reputation was shit anyway.
