Black bars blocking MN threads (mobile site)?

To be honest, I'm more irritated that mumsnet haven't fixed it yet. Started getting this a few days ago on my phone. Black sections blocking out parts or the whole of threads on the mobile site. Had a search and apparently a thread was started about it in site stuff on the seventh of October! Mumsnet said they'd take a look at it but no word for a while now. Seemed to be Samsung devices mainly but also a few Sony. AIBU to use this thread to see how widespread the problem is and urge MN to do something about it?

(Hopefully not a TAAT because this is about the problem not the other thread. Just mentioned the other thread to avoid suggestions that I post in site stuff and to highlight the duration of the issue.)

Finish your drink and leave, that’s my advice.

Try again in a cafe.

Samsung and doing my head in refreshing the page every 30 seconds Hmm

KnittingSister · 22/10/2018 20:27

Samsung galaxy s7, chrome :(

FlaviaAlbia · 22/10/2018 20:32

It's that M&S advert doing it for me.

It must have happened about 30 times to me today, that's really not an exaggeration but it's been on nearly every thread as the adverts seem to be cycling though until they hit it and it wrecks the page.

Turning off JavaScript seems to prevent it for me but it's annoying as I need JS for some stuff.

flumposie · 22/10/2018 20:34

same for me on Samsung galaxy 7

1MillionSelfiesTakenByMyKids · 22/10/2018 20:40

Yup. Samsung Chrome here too. Have to refresh the page each time (some threads seem subject to it more than others) but it often recurs shortly thereafter.

MemoryOfSleep · 22/10/2018 20:41

@Flavia same for me now I think about it. It's fine for a moment and then starts acting up. Wonder why it's that one ad?
