Black bars blocking MN threads (mobile site)?

MemoryOfSleep · 22/10/2018 07:51

To be honest, I'm more irritated that mumsnet haven't fixed it yet. Started getting this a few days ago on my phone. Black sections blocking out parts or the whole of threads on the mobile site. Had a search and apparently a thread was started about it in site stuff on the seventh of October! Mumsnet said they'd take a look at it but no word for a while now. Seemed to be Samsung devices mainly but also a few Sony. AIBU to use this thread to see how widespread the problem is and urge MN to do something about it?

(Hopefully not a TAAT because this is about the problem not the other thread. Just mentioned the other thread to avoid suggestions that I post in site stuff and to highlight the duration of the issue.)

@MemoryOfSleep it's just rude!

Brainwashed · 22/10/2018 09:36

Been happening for a few weeks on my Samsung using chrome

ThomasShelbysBunnet · 22/10/2018 09:40

Also getting it on my Samsung, and have been for a while (albeit intermittently)

Glad it's not just me - but as a pp said, why has it been going on for so long?!

Also as an aside, my 'swears by' email on a Sunday night will not fit to my screen on my Samsung, and I cannot zoom in/ out. It is huge so I can only see the first strip, about a quarter of the page. It is only this email too.

Samsung S7 using chrome. I thought it was just me!

AliDran · 22/10/2018 10:09

I started a thread back in September about it, it seemed to stop for a while, but it's worse then ever at the moment. Samsung s8 on Chrome

junecat · 22/10/2018 10:17

Happens on my Huawei using chrome

DailyMailWankers · 22/10/2018 10:21

Samsung phone on chrome. I'm pretty sure it's to do with the advert placement. The adverts dont scroll with the text and create black banners instead?

MemoryOfSleep · 22/10/2018 10:27

Did anyone else get pop up ads through the site too? I had a real problem with that a few days ago, not sure if it's related.

Samsung s9 and chrome. Been happening a while on and off - thought it was just me

colouringinpro · 22/10/2018 15:56

Samsung s7 - been going on for a while, assumed my phone was flaky. Seems to go if I refresh a page.

AGHHHH · 22/10/2018 15:58

Yeah I reported this 2 weeks ago and made a thread under site stuff. Hopefully it's fixed asap.

If I refresh that works for a bit. Happens on both Wi-Fi and mobile data- has just happened now, it's taken me a while to type this Sad

AGHHHH · 22/10/2018 16:07
