Black bars blocking MN threads (mobile site)?

MemoryOfSleep · 22/10/2018 07:51

To be honest, I'm more irritated that mumsnet haven't fixed it yet. Started getting this a few days ago on my phone. Black sections blocking out parts or the whole of threads on the mobile site. Had a search and apparently a thread was started about it in site stuff on the seventh of October! Mumsnet said they'd take a look at it but no word for a while now. Seemed to be Samsung devices mainly but also a few Sony. AIBU to use this thread to see how widespread the problem is and urge MN to do something about it?

(Hopefully not a TAAT because this is about the problem not the other thread. Just mentioned the other thread to avoid suggestions that I post in site stuff and to highlight the duration of the issue.)

Happens to me too. On my previous Samsung and then my Huawei. If I come out of the thread and go back in sometimes that helps.

BarryTheKestrel · 22/10/2018 08:29

This has been happening on my Huawei using Chrome for about 2 months now, maybe a bit longer. It's a right pain!

SilverHairedCat · 22/10/2018 08:31

@MyGhoulMumsnet There is a MASSIVE thread on this is Site Issues. We've been asking for help for TWO WEEKS or more on this there. We're very peed off this has been ignored with no response from @HQ.

Could someone PLEASE respond on there to at least acknowledge the issue?

M0gg · 22/10/2018 08:34

Happened six times while reading this thread.

I'm using Chrome on Android and it seems to be linked to M&S ad.

It resolves if I refresh or just leave it a minute or so. I have to leave it if typing a post so I don't lose my post.

Littlewhitedove · 22/10/2018 08:36

It happens to me on my Galaxy S7...soooo annoying.

moonlight1705 · 22/10/2018 08:36

Huawei and Chrome for me too. Its so annoying!!!

DontCallMeCharlotte · 22/10/2018 08:37

"Me too" (Samsung)

M0gg · 22/10/2018 08:38

For me it's when ad switches to M&S. If it does it and I leave it for a minute, when it sorts itself out the Mark's advert is up. Also does it if the Mark's advert is up when I open the thread.

I can carry on typing while it does it and whilst the text doesn't show in the box as I type it catches up and all appears once it's sorted itself out.

Piccalillies · 22/10/2018 08:39

Happening on my Moto E4 too, really annoying!!

flapjackfairy · 22/10/2018 08:39

I just posted a long thread which would not post and just black chunks all over the place ! V frustrating . Also when typing it is v delayed . Most strange!

SilverHairedCat · 22/10/2018 08:42

It's the M&S advert.

This thread is full of photos, details of devices, browsers and other relevant info for your developers. Please acknowledge it!

CurbsideProphet · 22/10/2018 08:43

I posted on the site stuff thread when it first started ages ago. As there was no update I presumed it had been resolved, but it's come back Angry

PoesyCherish · 22/10/2018 08:44

I have it and it's bloody irritating. I have a Samsung phone too.

MissusGeneHunt · 22/10/2018 08:44

Yup me too. Via chrome on a Huawei P10. Grrrrrr! Also repeats posts time and time again, and then won't let me type to post (clearly intermittent!).

M4MMY · 22/10/2018 08:44

Galaxy S9. Thought it was just me!

wafflyversatile · 22/10/2018 08:46

Samsung a3 using chrome here.

catitude · 22/10/2018 08:48

Huawei and Chrome for me too.

MemoryOfSleep · 22/10/2018 08:48

@flapjackfairy Mine also repeats swathes of posts and stops me typing! Wasn't sure if the typing thing was just me.

I end up coping what I've typed so far, refreshing and pasting.

@silverhairedcat That is very frustrating. I hope mn reply to that thread soon!
