Theresa May needs to resign!

autumnbreeze25 · 19/10/2018 08:44

I have supported Theresa May throughout the last few years, and I voted for her in the elections confident she could be trusted. I considered her to be a practical, capable and considered leader at the helm for what was always going to the most challenging situation of our times.

However this trust has been replaced with a pressing need for her to either resign immediately or to be pushed out now.

TM in the last 24 hours has shown that she has failed miserably and she needs to go.

Where did the blazing leader that was going to fight to the end? She limped into the meeting and limped out conceding immediately! My eight year old could do a better job!

The EU were never ever going to give the UK any kind of 'deal'. This was never their intention. I am absolutely amazed anyone is even talking about a deal anymore. This idea is totally dead in the water. There is no deal, there was never going to be, and it is now time for a change in the leadership with full preparation to leave without a deal or switch to the Canada option. Even TM doesn't want to talk about the Chequers deal anymore.

We should walk away now or be forever in a limbo of a vassal state.

There is no way we should agree to any kind of extension that means we will still be paying enormous bills to the EU but will have no influence whatsoever over the decisions made. This is utterly unacceptable and leaves us in a very dangerous situation. How TM has managed to back herself into a corner of this nature is just beyond me, she has let the entire country down.

The traitor that is Oliver Robbins should do the decent thing and leave, this is all down to his 'advice' he has screwed her over properly for sure as he was really working for the other side all along (he can pick up his payment and pension from the EU on his way out)

I am incredulous that Theresa May is still in post, and I hope by the end of the week she will be replaced by someone capable of steering the country out of this unholy mess.

I don't know why TM is even wasting her time going to Brussels, she should stop wasting her time and focus on the withdrawal

That's exactly what MrResp says. I don't know why she goes to Belgium for her sprouts. They have perfectly good ones in Waitrose.

DGRossetti · 19/10/2018 10:19

On the upside, while @autumnbreeze25 is tied up turbo posting slogans here, they can't be doing it elsewhere too Hmm

really though, I'm surprised they've chosen such a French username. "fallbreeze25" would have been more appropriate surely ? Or to go back a bit further (not doubt they wish they could) "harvestbreeze25" ?

PortiaCastis · 19/10/2018 10:20

I think the 29th if March will matter to everybody especially those queued up at Dover and those whose meds are on the lorries in the queues and those who want to use a motorway that'll be turned into a lorry park

BigChocFrenzy · 19/10/2018 10:20

The Republic of Ireland is not going to leave the EU just to rescue Britain from its Brexit mistake

Polls consistently show about 90% of the RoI population wish to remain in the EU
www.irishtimes.com/news/politics/more-than-90-of-irish-people-want-to-stay-in-eu-poll-reveals-1.3488112

Polls can be a few % points wrong, but never that wrong

Inthebluemountains · 19/10/2018 10:20

@Pebblespony the OP has addressed your concerns, you're going to leave the EU too. Hope you don't mind.

Leavers are not welcome on here - it’s a remainers paradise & there’s just too many of them.
They can’t stop brexit so they insult leavers instead - just don’t bother starting another thread because a leaver thread is like a red rag to a bull - they love them! It’s their chance to pile in.

Lweji · 19/10/2018 10:20

But don't stay in the UK dragging us all down.

It's not remainers dragging the UK down. Think about it...

Eventually international trade will be resumed as normal, but without trade agreements in place, there will be forms to fill, consents to obtain, taxes to apply... it will be fun.

Stillnotready · 19/10/2018 10:21

autumnbreeze I’m left speechless.

DGRossetti · 19/10/2018 10:22

Leavers are not welcome on here

How would you know ? We rarely see them.

Now Brexiteers on the other hand ... can't move for the buggers. Spouting soundbites and never actually going beyond "deal with it". As the waiting in vain on this thread for solutions will show.

BigChocFrenzy · 19/10/2018 10:23

Surfer Remainers don't tell Leavers to stop posting
but Leavers keep telling Remainers to stop demonstrating

The farage bot is alive and well but the AI has failed

Clandestino · 19/10/2018 10:26

@WoodenCupCake - the thing is, these people don't love the post-war Britain.
That country was exhausted and reliant on foreign help, with the colonies leaving it or planning to leave.
What they are dreaming about is the Victorian Britannia that ruled the waves and the Empire that the sun didn't set down on.
But that's all in the past. They just can't see it. They want to go back to the good old times when they were the memsahibs and sahibs to the inferior nations, stiff upper lip etc.
They don't see that should Britain be on their own, they will be those who will be in the worse negotiating position. China, India, US, ANZAC countries - they have no reason to treat Britain as an equal partner because economy is not on the Britain's side. There's barely any company left that's British owned. Britain is strongly dependent on foreign industries, imports etc. But they won't care while they are munching on nice chlorine chicken filled with antibiotics, imported straight from the US, because they will feel like they are independent.

Stillnotready · 19/10/2018 10:26

I agree hotblacktea

BigChocFrenzy · 19/10/2018 10:27

I get it.
When you have totally screwed up, you just want to go away and hide;
you don't want people to keep posting and demonstrating, because that keeps reminding you of your mistake

Yes you are absolutely right. They assume that the leave voters don't exist, but they do of course in their millions, they just can't be bothered with this kind of bun fight each time I suppose.

It must be the remoaners sense of helplessness at not having won the vote, they have become bitter and twisted and lost in their anger. A more positive thing would be to accept the vote with good grace, and support the country. The leave side had we lost the vote would have been accepted.

On that note shall we check out and leave them spitting bile to each other surferjet I am only interested in this thread if there a degree of balanced, intelligent views, but there is no chance of that clearly.

I hope TM leaves with dignity, she has done her best, and we need a true brexit leader now. All the best everyone, hold on tight, it is just about to get interesting.

Tbh I think she should have been booted out as soon as she paid off the DUP for their support due to her not having a majority. For me it’s not a valid government in the first place due to this. I’m a labour voter, but I wouldn’t be ok with them doing this either!

It’s not 48% who are as fanatic as you lot.
If it was they’d all be on the march tomorrow - as it is you’ll be lucky if you get 100,000, A mere drop in the ocean to the amount who voted remain.

It’s probably 10% fanatical about remaining in the EU, the rest just want to get on with it just like leavers.

theymademejoin · 19/10/2018 10:32

The solution to the Irish problem is for Ireland to leave the EU as well.

I actually laughed so much at that, I have a pain in my side.

I think that says it all really. Jingoism at its finest.

I presume you think Ireland isn't really a separate country anyway?

user1490465531 · 19/10/2018 10:33

I renember all the nasty comments that were aimed at leavers by bitter remainers when the vote was announced.
I came to the conclusion that a lot of remainers were nasty fuckwits that showed their nasty snobbish attitude to the core and confirmed to me what I already believed.

BarbarianMum · 19/10/2018 10:33

Mmm maybe we should consider it. I'd assume everyone in the Republic would get a vote, then we'd add those votes to our original votes yes? Democracy speaks and all.
